Won't be surprised if he becomes the main CF with Martial moving to the left, he's better cutting in from the left then Rashford, imo, I also reckon Rashford should be played on the right as hes the best crosser among our forwards. Greenwood being two footed will be first choice for the entire front 3.

Cavani
Martial Rashford
I see that being the case, personally.

Hope he does well, but I can't see him playing regularly for at least 3 weeks, he must be well short of fitness, let alone match fitness. By leaving this so late, not only has he has missed the short pre-season and the first 2 weeks of football. If we'd been decisive with our business, he'd be playing now.

Hope he does well and proves all the naysayers wrong and hopefully he can stay fit.

Nice to have someone who is actually dangerous in the air.

We’ll need him right away with Martial banned for 3 games.

Finally filled that Falcao-shaped hole in our squad.

Feet up at home.
Can't believe the comparisons to Falcao. He was a complete crock when we signed him with no hope of working out.

Cavani is going to surprise a lot of people.

Is he match fit?
If that means ‘coming off a run of matches’, then of course, no. But he isn’t injured and will be training for two weeks. Probably play in a BCD or reserve game too in that time.

I hope he flops so ed Woodward gets a hammering. I’m so sick and tired of this year after year. We just sign awful players past there best! Bastion S, Sanchez mk11.

Yeah I would love him to score a few big goals and make the doubters eat some humble pie.

He shares a birthday with me too which is pretty cool as well but then I also shared one with the snake.

I hope you never get promoted to the main forum, and you go off and ‘support’ another team

On a free?! We've given his agent 10mil and his wages amount to another 10mil
So what you’re saying is there is no such thing as a free transfer in other words. So long as they don’t work for free?

What do you think a reasonable salary for Edinson Cavani should be?

A free transfer is certainly not paying an agent 10m. Can you find me an example of that ever happening before on a 'free' transfer?

As for a salary, I think 200k is maddening. 100k maybe could be reasonable. He'll get about 10 goals this season in my opinion.

Free transfers quite often involve such sums going to the player/agent as there is obviously no transfer fee.

I can’t be bothered. If you think that this is some sort of new concept for a player and agent to get a signing on fee with a free transfer then you know nothing about football. In fact, there is a signing on/agent fee even when signings are not free.

And there is no basis for Cavani to be on £100k a week. He’ll her 10 goals if he hardly plays, yes, but if he plays, he’s never ever been a 10 goal striker. You, like many others, are guilty of baseless moaning.

Again, show me a free transfer that involved an agent getting 10m
Willian reputedly got a £10 Million signing bonus from Arsenal.

It's a silly argument you're making though. This sort of thing is so common it's almost trivial you don't understand.

I'm not trying to be difficult for the sake of it. I'm just disappointed at this transfer.

I feel like we've been here before. We've gotten older players in with a view to settling down our squad and moving on with a younger and more vibrant side. Zlatan, Falcao, Ighalo. I just think we're going about it in the wrong way. I think someone like Moussa Dembele makes more sense.

Anyway, its a game of opinions.

As a striker to come on from the bench, we would expect him to be able to score important goals. But his track record in scoring important goals are well known for the wrong reason.

- 33 years old
- Hasn't played in 7 months. Prior to that had Neymar and Mbappe feeding him, and struggled in the Uber Eats league, against shite opposition
- Has no pace at all, historically is not clinical at all, and completely goes against our counter attacking 4231 shite we are so insistent on playing.

Yet, let's give him our iconic number 7 shirt. Even more hilarious since we brought him in last minute. How far down the pecking order must he have been? Considering he was a free agent and signed on deadline day?

Absolutely fuming at our club. Cavani and his agent must be out celebrating tonight, as they have completely pulled one over on us due to our incompetence in the transfer market.

Cavani hasn't played in 7 months, and even before that, when he WAS playing, he was dog shit. And that's in a much slower league, with far better players around him, against much worse teams on average than the Prem.

So, yeah, I'd say the comparison is a valid one - especially considering the fact that Falcao was top drawer prior to injury. Cavani was already on the downward spiral.

Falcao was a different type of player. Cavani can hold the ball and bring others into play. If he is playing he can hold the ball better than anyone we have right now. Of Ole plays Martial a bit closer to him when they play together he is going to create chances.

Haha. This is gonna be hilarious once we realize how much better Cavani still is than all of our other strikers.
Seriously he will teach them all a thing or two and the difference in quality will immediately be obvious. People really think Martial is as good as him? Haha. You will see how far our players are from being world class.

Ok so the guy is 33. In great shape a hard worker. Didnt have a career ending injury or anything like that. Why are people expecting that we are getting a player that cant play anymore?

Cavani will be more Ibrahimovic than Falcao. Fully expect him to hit the ground running immediately. Easily our best striker now

I'm not a huge fan of this transfer either but can you name me the players in the squad who you think are earning 100k or less a week? You'll be surprised by how few you find
