Predict what you think will happen in Jan.

It seems like we do like to do a little bit of business in January nowadays, so let’s predict what’s going to happen. I have a few ideas of what could occur:

We buy 1 or 2 CB’s
We try for Sancho again, for a deal to either happen in Jan or set an agreement for a Summer transfer
We sell or loan out a couple more defenders,i.e., Rojo, Jones
Romero leaves us

I'd leave this one for a few weeks, let's see how the new guys settle in & how results go.

I sincerely hope we go back in for Sancho in January but fear we'll wait til the summer, probably miss out on CL and therefore watch him sign for Chelsea or Liverpool.

Utd in bottom 5.

Utd sack Ole

Bring in Poch

Promise him funds and players

Protracted transfer negotiations with said players

No signings

Poch sacked in May.

2 CBs? No chance.

Romero can still leave before Jan, as can Rojo and Jones - still hope for them, even to be released. If not gone by Jan then they definitely will be.

Why do we keep looking forward to transfer windows knowing full well that this incompetent board cannot do anything?

Out of Champions league and Ole sacked.
Poch in and buys CB and DM.
Team start to play attractive attacking football.

I hope PP gets offloaded. He's of no benefit to us whatsoever and hasn't been for a while.

I hear Romero, Mata, Rojo and Lingard's contracts will be up at the end of the year. Better renew them in January to protect their value or else they might leave on a free at the end of the year.

Sancho is finished. It will be all about a centre back and a Pogba replacement next summer.

The knives are out and the clock is ticking for Ole, I see us getting a few more spankings this year, and I think the future looks a bit bleak for Ole's prospects.
But yeah agreed, the Sancho drama is done.
Is Pogba out of contract next year? He'll be looking to leave on a Free transfer I'd think, Donny will be his replacement.
But our focus will be on a CB & DMC or a new manager.

Pogba contract will be extended by the option for another year I think but we should definitely be looking to sell if we can.

Hopefully we will use January to try to get some deadwood out of the club. Lingaard, Romero, Mata, TFM and Rojo will be able to sign pre-contracts with other clubs. If not hopefully the club will let them leave on frees. Ighalo will return to China. I guess Lee Grant will retire at end of season.

Diallo will join. We would have had a very good look at Upamencano via our two games in CL. I dont see anyone coming in during Jan unless we have a major injury crisis

Robben? Good for a one year contract and can play right wing. Injury record not a problem for us.

And maybe another couple of 12 year old Venezuelan prodigies.

I think Ole will be sacked just before and our new manager will come in, make a comment about needing to “assess the squad” and Woodward and the Glazers will run their hands in glee....

I can't see Sancho coming in. He will have the pick of any team next season. I think we missed out chance. Plus Dortmund will not sell if they are still in the CL, which is most likely in January.

Depending on what happens with our results from now until Jan, if things keep going south then I can see a change in manager happening, and if it was in January then I imagine it would be Pochettino

Amad comes in.

We may sign 1 player, maybe.

Romero and maybe 1 or 2 others out.

Probably a few departures. Romero, Rojo and James perhaps. We'll not spend any money and save it for the new manager in the Summer. Hope I'm wrong.

Identify a target that we need in advance. Agree a fee in advance. Agree personal terms in advance. Announce the signing on the day the window happens.

Won’t happen.

Unless serious injury crisis or something weird, I want the focus in Jan window to be on selling. Get rid of Romero, Rojo and one of Lingard/James. At this stage I have given up anybody buying Jones so not going to mention him along with others. In Jan, we are not going to get first team players which we want to strengthen the team but we can certainly look to sell players which are not part of plans. Problem is, Rojo, Romero, Lingard are all in last year of contract, so unless some clubs really need them at that stage, it will be difficult to offload them.

Sancho

Can he play in the Europa League after the Champions League Group stages?
I feel like there was a rule that 2 January signings could play in the CL/EL. Bruno played in the EL after being in the EL with Sporting.

My prediction.

The league is an absolute mess this year with results all over the place. If we had prepared properly we would have had a good chance of winning. However we will be all over the place too - We may scrape into top 4 or it maybe mid table battle for 6th place.

In January we pick up some players from a couple of teams that will probably have gone to the wall by then. No crowds at games will see widespread financial issues. However a few teams won't get backing because their accounts are in a mess due to "irregularities" and they go to the wall. One will be a much bigger team than you would expect.

Due to unprecedented numbers of bankrupt football teams, UEFA will suspend the notion of transfer windows and allow clubs to sign any player from any team as this will be only way to keep some teams afloat.

I think Ole will be moved upstairs as a director of football - seems to suit his skillset more. This paves the way to get Poch in!
