Ooh kitty got claws. RW isn't James' natural position either mister feline. That, and the fact that he hasn't been a starter for us in god knows how long.
So what exactly is the problem? Because it appears we concur on the idea a starting right winger was required since neither James or Greenwood should be starting in that position .

This thread is embarrassing. We have bought a young player who was extensively scouted by Ole as mentioned by Mitten in July. Take your James, Sancho moaning stuff to their thread.

Extensively scouted by Ole?

We've signed him young, now it's on us to develop him properly. Need to give him time to adjust to the Premier League and the English game, get the physically he needs. It's a big culture shock and it took some of our greats like Evra and Vidic a while to adjust. I hope Cavani can help but not sure Cavani even speaks English. There's a lot of good professionals like Mata, De Gea that can help a spanish speaker.

According to what it has been said over here, he speaks pretty basic (bad) English.
I guess he can pick it up easily though, I think he is good at both italian and french after playing over there, not every player cares to learn the language where he is playing.
I get the feeling that Pellistri might be better at english than Cavani haha

There is Andy Mitten piece in which he mentioned this. We have done background checks and Ole was personally involved.
It's because Forlan personally suggested we sign him, then our scouts obviously watched a lot of him and agreed with Forlan

In a world where Mason Greenwood currently exists, Dan James will not be our first choice right winger.
Greenwood shouldn’t be either since he’s not a right winger. He’s a striker. Thankfully the kid is so talented he’s doing a good job there regardless.

Decent pace, can dribble and cross. Update over James on RW already in my opinion if he can perform on the big stage.

Dan James will likely no longer feature at all if Facundo proves to be any good. Because there is Mata who has more G+A, there is also Lingard who (albeit being poor) plays better than James, and with Facundo (and Diallo expected soon) there is simply no spot for James - neither on the left nor on the right.

Looks like a really interesting player. Check his balance in those yourtube clips, the way he moves. Something Messi-ish over this guy. Like the look of Diallo as well.

Disclosure: my knowledge of the player is based solely on a 10 min YouTube clip. However, both this guy and Amad have unreal dribbling skills - very low centre of gravity and very Messi-esque in style.

They appear to have a really high ceiling and they look like they may not be that far off pushing our first teamers all the way - I noticed Facundo playing from the left in some clips. You have to credit the scouts for this one.

My 2 reservations (and forgive my talking about both players in one post) are -
1. They do look quite small
2. There's little evidence of end product from those clips. But I remember another skillful youngster full of tricks who joined us from Sporting, and we all know how that turned out! ;)

Looks skillful and already see people hyping him up a lot, but I think he will be bullied in the PL. Will be shoved off the ball.

I noticed he's right-footed, potentially another player who'll eventually feel more at home on the left wing then? I'd like to see us scout more left-footed attackers since modern football is all about inverted wing play.

Diallo's left footed.

Yeah this is what worries me. Hope he hits the gym. Impossible to judge from videos, great dribbler but often looks to overrun the ball. I hope he adapts quickly, and sharpens up the loose parts of his play.

Not going to pretend like I have a clue on this kid - from Youtube  -- he looks to have great feet, balance and agility, skillful. Very raw!

What's the general consensus? straight into the first team to be integrated (would make sense since Cavani) or going to be playing for the reserves first?

Apparently from all the people who have seen him play, he's two-footed.
