    Can see something like this.

    De Gea
    Wan-Bissaka Lindelof Maguire Bailly Telles
    Fred Van de Beek
    Bruno
    Greenwood Rashford
Would love to see it. Fred and Donny have to start and I'm blaming Ole if Pogba is in over Donny again when it should've been the other way round for the last 3 league games.

I get that Telles and Cavani haven't been added to the player selection yet but why is Axel not an option?

I remember a lot on here saying season was over before Christmas last year. We ended finishing 3rd. and in 3 cup semi finals.
Because It would be worse without Fernandes in January, when we stopped playing Lingard and Pereira so much, still won nothing. Now we're missing 2 CBs, a CDM and a proven RW; The LWs are shit and the RB situation is worrying, but not less than the coaching. Oh, our captain is also shit and a coward. Will need a lot of luck, again.

We will get better. Can't get any worse, or can we. ??

With no Martial and Cavani a rare start for Ighalo then.
Greenwood down the middle. Unfortunately James is going to start on the right unless we really throw this Pellestri kid in at the deep end.

    Williams - Bailly - Maguire - Telles
    VDB - McTominay - Fred
    Greenwood - Fernandes - Rashford
Big changes needed from the Spurs game to shake things up. With no Martial I would switch to 433 with Bruno as a false 9 due to Cavani not being fit and Ighalo being a waste of space (I know Solskjaer won't have the balls to try this though so Ighalo will probably play sadly).
I like that a lot actually. Plenty of hard work in midfield with some decent potential for interplay between VDB / Fred / Fernandes mixing it up with some clever movement.

433 above 3 at the back for me eitherway, regardless of personnel.

I'd be in favour of dropping De Gea, Maguire, AWB, Pogba and Martial to better balance the team and teach them a lesson after last weekend. Telles should start and Menghi should get a chance. The 4231 needs to be changed to a 433 as we keep getting overrun in the middle. Greenwood up top for Martial

    Henderson

    Williams Bailley Menghi Telles

    Bruno Fred Donny

    James Greenwood Rashford

Cavani and Pellistri on for 25-30 mins is a must

Both players have to isolate don't they? The game is in 10 days time so there's no way either are even going to be on the bench.

I read it was only for a week if they test negative. Can anyone confirm the actual protocol?

Stand to be corrected but I don't think so mate. Think they're both out.

Cavani hasn't played a single minute of football since March too by the way. I very much doubt he'd be ready anyway. No idea on the kid. Don't think he will be playing much in first team this season myself.

...so? The longer he doesn’t play, the longer this period will last.

We have all seen this season’s Ighalo - he is as bad as it can get, so it’s theoretically impossible for Cavani to be worse

He's isolating so he's not playing anyway. It's on the BBC.

Probably wont even start the one after.

If Ighalo doesn't start we may as well terminate his contract.

Sure he's got a goal or two up there(here!)in the past as well.

Think Pellistri has to go into isolation for 14 days so won't be available.

I'm up in Newcastle at the minute and asked a few of their fans if they fancied their chance, they did before the Tottenham resentful, now they don't think they've got a chance!

    Everybody that participated was sober

Are you sure you were in Newcastle!?

I can’t get past the feeling that this will also be another bad result. At some stage this season it will all click again and we will go on a decent run which should take us comfortably into the top 6. It might not be enough to get top 4 though. All of a sudden It feels like there’s a pretty good chance ole will be sacked this season :(

    Think we'll go for this:

    De Gea

    AWB Maguire Bailly Shaw Telles

    Matic VDB Bruno

    Greenwood Rashford

Henderson, Lindelof, Williams, Pogba, Fred, James, Ighalo

Telles and Williams at wing backs. Shaw in a back 3 with Maguire and Bailly.

    Bruno, Donny, fred

    Rashford and Greenwood

we have to switch to 5-3-2 given what has happened with 4231 so far. AWB is not a wing back, Williams looks like he might be. I know sweet FA about Telles so that’s a shot in the dark.
Maguire should be a gonner but we forgot to buy a CB.

3 5 2 I reckon. Ddg AWB Vic Harry luke telles matic pogs Bruno rashers Mason. Even though most deserve to be dropped after spurs game. They won't be. He will try to keep it solid. Grind out any win and get some confidence going.

Yeah I think so too, though there’s a chance of Mata over James given his good performances so far this season. Fred over Matić at least provides some energy.

Maguire, Shaw and Pogba should all be dropped as well given their lamentable showing v Spurs. The only one Ole might consider for the chop is Shaw; it look like Maguire and Pogba’s fees ensure that they are guaranteed starters.

I think 352 is looking incredibly likely. With PSG, Chelsea, Leipzig and Arsenal up right after this one we simply can't afford to go 4231

I don't think its just the fees. The issue is that OGS don't have the balls to drops them.

Maguire should have been dropped last season but for some reason every Maguire calamity is hidden by Lindelof not being quick enough to cover his mistake.

Pogba should not have played any game if he was not match fit and recovering from COVID. Luke Shaw well..Williams is not good enough but I doubt Telles will be dropped straightaway.

The new signings will be playing in the Carabaro Cup, apart from Cavani as Woodward request that his our star man now after taking the #7.

Only imagine us getting our deals done early so our incomings are actually able to play football for us. Crazy thought I know.
It's not like he's nearly 34 either and we've got loads of time for him to play at the club......oh wait.

No way on earth was Cavani part of the plan. Maybe he'll shock us though and bang in some goals.

Are we sure Cavani is not available? I know he hasn't played for a while but he has to start somewhere.

Not due to come out of isolation until day after Newcastle match. Unless they can find a loophole.

Telles is fine as he was in a COVID bubble at Porto but Cavani has been out of the professional sportsperson bubble since his contract ended and therefore needs to isolate.
