How long are we willing to take Pogba's insolance?

Here we see, not only insolance, but also deluded ideas by someone who is all about him. His attitude, his disregard to his team, and the club (but also reality as well) is astonishing!

He'd like to go to Real... We sold players like Beckham, Ronaldo, van Nistelrooy there not the likes of him. Why would they put this toxicity and laziness in their midfield?

Why is he talking about it as if he deserves it? What did he do for us? All the above mentioned players did things in England that can make them say "Alright, time for a new challange!".
Ok, Becks and Ruud had a bit of a falling out with Ferguson, but lets rethink the standard he has set for players back then? You could be considered for "a chop" for a lot less than what we let players do now. Maybe sometimes us fans didn't like it either but it ultimatly worked.

I know Ole comes from Ferguson's footballing upbringing in many ways, so this lack of desire to put things in order can only come from higher up and from the fact someone screwed up by sanctioning Pogba purchase in the first place (but also for hring Mourinho and lots of other things but lets not pull on that thread now...).

I would sell this particular virus to Madrid.

He was all committed to us again when we were on a winning run at the back end of last season. As soon as things get tough again, he’s off spouting this again. Awfully toxic player with absolutely no bottle. Get rid. It’s just a shame Madrid won’t want him.

if its true he said that (sometimes quotes are fabricated) then I'd get rid as soon as we get the chance

doesn't matter which player it is, i don't see the point in keeping any player who want out

it's surprising that we haven't offered a new deal though (again, if true). No matter what your opinion of the guy, it makes zero sense to let him run his contract down

He’ll always have fanboi’s who’ll find someway to blame everything else for his mostly sub standard performances. He’s generally been a potential world class signing for his entire time at United and hardly ever excelled.

He said it in an interview himself. I would have gotten rid of him along with Lukaku last year just so we don't have to deal with him and Riaola ever again.

His bad form is just tanking his value, no way Real takes him off us for a huge fee.

Can think of an obvious answer to “why not one day?”

Still, can’t wait until this joker is no longer our problem.

He's injured
He's unfit
He's playing out of position
His teammates are not good enough
It's the manager's fault.

It's never Pogba's fault to them, despite him not showing any effort in most games.

Oh now you've done it - the Pogba apologists will be out in force telling you how it's everyone else's fault that he's been made to say this.

It's clear his mind hasn't been at this club for at least the past two years.

I wouldn’t mind but there’s been zero link with him and Madrid this summer. They don’t want him and he just sounds desperate and pathetic.

I don’t even know why such an average performer warrants so much frenzied debate. It would be highly preferable to see him leave.

Guys, if we could just bring in those 3,4,5,6 midfield players , that will do all the leg work for him , then we may finally see his undoubted soccer-ball abilities.
Give him time.

Feet up at home.
Said it during the window I'd have taken anything around 80m just to use it to help get Sancho.

I don't think he will ever turn it around here now. He will probably look world class in Spain as well.

Anything above 60mil is good. We could get a top CB to replace him. Then our team is much better.

I'd do it in January if possible.

I've kind of accumulated all the arguments I've seen defending this guy.

The number of arguments that have been made for this guy is amazing really.

1) Isn't suited to 4-2-3-1
2) Isn't a DM
3) Isn't a CAM
4) Play him on the left side of 4-3-3. Spoiler alert, we already tried and he was still fecking shit
5) Mourinho is bullying him
6) He's unfit
7) He's back from injury
8) He was injured 6 months ago
9) He won the world cup
10) He had coronavirus
11) A player of his skillset shouldn't be forced to track back. Judging by today's defending, I would agree
12) He needs better players around him to thrive. He can't do it all by himself
13) He's a workhorse (wtf)
14) Ole doesn't know how to use him (oh but he seemed like he did when he first came, what changed?)

A plethora of arguments I've seen made for this guy.

At this rate, we will have to request Madrid to take him from us. He has been horrendous for us for such a long time. I would sell him and sign Aouar.

What question was he asked? Because if that question was "Would you like to play for Real Madrid?", then I have zero problems with his answer.

Of course, if the question was "What are your expectations for next year?" then he can bugger off. But I'm guessing it wasn't, I'm guessing he was outright asked about Real, or about playing for ZiZou, and I don't care if one of players has other clubs or managers they'd like to play for. As long as they give their all while they're here.

My biggest concern is that Pogba has been absolute gash since the season started, I don't know if it's a hangover from his covid infection, or if his mind is elsewhere, but he needs to pick up his game

He says the club have made no contact with him over a new contract? If this is the case he has at most this season and will be sold in the summer. You can’t blame him for looking for his next club if this is true.

My views here are not a reaction to his latest comments rather this is based on his performances since he arrived. He will be Ole's downfall yet. Ole should have some him last summer along with Lukaku. Honestly thought that we were buying VDB to replace him but unfortunately he is still here. Not selling him and bringing in Sancho (along with DVB) instead this summer gone was a huge mistake.

We were starting to see a team emerge pre lockdown but then Pogba returns and here we are going backwards again.

Surely, PSG, Juve or Madrid could stump up 50m for him in January? Ive said it numerous times on this forum lately but the fact that we paid a world record fee for him and the fact that he has never been in the running for any player of season awards......like ever, tells you everything you need to know about the player.

Contract negotiations are on the horizon aren't they? We'll have to listen to a lot of this shit over the next few months - from his agent in particular I imagine.

Unfortunately for us and Paul here, covid has had a massive impact on Madrid and I can't see them shelling out the required funds for him.

Bluffer on the field he may be but big commercial asset he certainly is and I'd be amazed if we accepted a cut price deal for him. Ed will value that kind of influence greater than the on field influence which is a sad indictment

Having a dream of playing for Madrid and under arguably the greatest French footballer is toxic? And talking like he deserves it?

He also said this speaking of United “I think there will be a moment when the club will come and talk to me and maybe offer me something, or not...I love my club, and want to put it back it belongs”.

Guy said maybe United will renew his contract or maybe not.

I’m not too bothered about the Madrid stuff. I just wish he was a better footballer. He’s 27 now and flattered to deceive throughout most of his peak years. If Madrid do pay a huge fee for him then they’re fools.
He won't be leaving on a big fee in the summer as he'll only have 1 year on his contract. He'll probably go for £40m or so. As another poster mentioned, this could be posturing in contract talks.

Context. When asked would he like to play there he says 'every player would, its a dream one day'. I don't have a problem with him saying that but he should know better, and i expect better from the BBC than the front page news headline 'I dream of playing for Madrid' or whatever it was yesterday.

He's a brilliant player but at 27 he's not going to turn it around here. He can go to Madrid as long as he understands they're not going to be winning anything outside of their two horse league for a while either.

Mourinho was right on this one. Some here would find a way to defend him if he took a shit on the centre circle at half time. The guy is a virus and the sooner he has gone the better for everyone. Terrible attitude.

He also said this,

"I am in Manchester and I love my club. I am playing in Manchester, I'm having fun and I want to do everything to put the club where it deserves.

"I will give everything to the max, like my team-mates."

Funny how this doesn't get mentioned, I'm not Pogba's biggest fan, but give the man a fecking break.

Only 1 more second should be allowed. He is humiliating the club, the name of the club, it's reputation & it's image. He is a disgrace & would never treat AC Milan, Barca or real Madrid like this. Why is he still here, that's the real question.

He can answer that first question much better. He's been in this game far too long to not knowing what his answer would be interpreted.
He can give generic answer like "Madrid is a great club, but right now my focus is on Man United".

Surprise, surprise... That's exactly what happened:

Asked about the prospect of a move to Madrid, with whom he has been linked on a number of occasions, he replied: "All football players would love to play for Real Madrid. It is a dream for me, why not one day?

"I am in Manchester and I love my club. I am playing in Manchester, I'm having fun and I want to do everything to put the club where it deserves.

"I will give everything to the max, like my team-mates."

Yeah he's been shit, they all have. I expect things to be different after the international break.

Travesty of a signing. In terms of cost and expectation one of our worst ever. Bar a handful of games he has been nothing but a mediocre drama queen stinking up the club for years. His game hasn't developed since he made his debut under Ferguson. Always the extra touch, almost invites pressure so he can try wriggle out of it. Off the top of my head he's been directly responsible for 3 goals conceded in the last 10 games or so which is far too many for a midfielder that offers not much else.

He's one of the biggest myths in football and if he hadnt had a couple of decent world Cup knockout games (after mediocre group showing) and been coasted to winning it by far the most talented squad in the tournament, most people would have woken up to the reality.

Sell as fast as we can

I am not a Pogba fan and have wanted him gone for a while now. But, if you read the full interview segment including the question and his full answer, it isn’t that bad. There is plenty of other stuff to get pissed off about, such as his dogshite play and lack of effort.

"No-one has told me anything," he said at a press conference with the France national team on Thursday. "I have not spoken to [United executive vice-chairman] Ed Woodward. We haven't spoken about a new deal.

"At the moment, I am in Manchester and I am concentrating about getting back to my best form.

"I think there will be a moment when the club will come and talk to me and maybe offer me something, or not."

Asked about the prospect of a move to Madrid, with whom he has been linked on a number of occasions, he replied: "All football players would love to play for Real Madrid. It is a dream for me, why not one day?

"

Imagine literally saying in a interview that he loves his club, he's commited to giving it all for the club, he's having fun and his teammates shares that mentality. And STILL have everything taken out of context and hated on. The ONLY reason Paul get's so much shit from everyone is because he's been inconsistent on the pitch. If he'd been a bonafide superstar day in and out you'd all be fine with this.

Or that's what I assume, since I recall what happened the last time our star player spoke about playing for Real Madrid:

"Personal, it's something I want, something I dream about," he said before quoting the advice of Portugal's Brazilian coach Luiz Felipe Scolari.

"(It is) a dream, a step forward... For me it's a very good opportunity. As Scolari says, this only happens once."

He added that leaving Manchester United would be difficult "but I think it could be good for both (of us)"."

Everyone was clamoring for the player to stay, our then manager even flew to visit him in his home to convince him to stay another year.

Who is the player I'm talking about?

These comments were WAY WAY worse than what Paul says, yet he's universally seen as a beloved legend because he was a great player for the club.

So the conclusion seems to be that you're not salty because of the comment, you're salty because he's not delivering on the pitch. Just make a thread about that instead of comments taken out of context.

Yup.

The sad fact is that he has cost us so much. Both in terms of dollars and the off the field baggage. And yet he has only been an average player who disappears when the chips are down. All that potential. Technique. Balance. Passing. Dribbling. Shooting. Tall. Strong. Workrate. And it's all squandered. It's just so sad to see him flush that potential down the drain.
