It'll be very awkward for some on here if Ole gets the sack and we appoint Poch. I mean, some have made a tonne of negative posts about Poch and some even claimed Ole is better.

I wonder will these posters pretend they never said anything negative about Poch and give him the same blind, unwavering support that they afford to Ole. It's going to be interesting if this Poch managing us scenario plays out.
what if what if what if?

I’m an Ole supporter, but not at the detriment of Poch. I certainly don’t see him as some sort of shining knight who can come in and make everything better, and are serious question marks over him. that’s a valid opinion.

There are also serious question marks about Ole of course.

However, I think the manager deserves this season, he got us third last year, and he deserves time.

if, at some point Poch comes in, I’ll support him, and want him to do the best he can for the club.

ole vs Poch seems to be like the Ronaldo vs Messi Caf argument. Just because you thk one is better than the other, it doesn’t mean the other one is crap.

now clearly I’m not comparing these two managers to two of the best players of all time - but I’m sure you see my point.

One has achieved more in the PL than the other, all whilst spending far less.
One has achieved more in the UCL than the other, all whilst spending far less.
Didn't think the obvious needed to be pointed out
Poch had 5 years at it and ultimately didnt achieve anything. Ole got to the quarterfinals in his first year in the CL without spending a penny...
United are naturally going to be paying bigger fees. Oles net spend is not even that big considering Lukaku was sold, and now Smalling, and its not like theres not plenty of players he doesn't want to sell as well, but will get beaten over the head with past managers mistakes

Fact remains he achieved more whilst spending less. Doesnt matter how many words you attempt to use to dress it up

Facts remain, he achieved nothing of substance, which is funny considering how you talk about dressing up things.

You cant even actually give Ole a full year in the CL, and yet you want to talk about ones achievements over the other. Pretty sad tbh.

How much has Poch done for United? I think it's only natural that the fans are more lenient towards a United legend, especially one that got us third last season. Is Ole the one to bring us back to former glory? Probably not but he clearly tries to bring back the United spirit, something that has been severely lacking since Ferguson left.

I've not talked him up, interesting you mention dressing things up. The fact is just clear that he has achieved more than Ole simple as.
Ole has had 1 more year in management, so what does this tell you that he hasn't even managed to coach a full season in the UCL yet?

To the Starman dude, if Poch doesn’t get you excited jts totally understandable, but to claim that Poch is just another side step to Ole is another thing. Imagine claiming that you’re not a Ole fanboy and to make such a bias statement. Such delusion. That’s where the debate ends.

What exactly is this United spirit that Ole is bringing back because I just don't see it? If its signing British players, do you think it's working? Is it the United mentality of never giving up because all I see are a group of shell-shocked players who are probably the weakest characters we've had for a long long time at the club. Is it playing youth where natural talent picks itself? Please explain because I really am at a loss as to this United way people are seeing.

Achieved more due to duration....while not actually winning anything. Brilliant...

Poch hadn't even won the CL but Di Matteo has, what do that tell, just to throw the bizarre logic you wish to use..

I'm specifically talking about the posters who have hammered Poch on here for years now.

Don't be a barnacle. Come up with something original.
You mean like the original "Ole cultist" you used?
The fact you used that just shows how attached and defensive you are of Poch given that I have criticised Ole and said I don't rate him highly.
Fan boys of Poch get heavily offended when people don't view him as this great hope thats going to save the day

Nothing to do with this. People are reacting to you saying he's no better than Ole.

It won’t be awkward for anyone. Fans should support their manager especially if he is new and give him a chance.

It will be the same narrative. As long as he does well:
“Look, that’s what happens when you employ a world class manager. Look how well coached we look.”

Once he starts having bad results and we look predictable and easy to play against:
“Typical United, hiring another outdated manager who only knows one way of playing. We never learn, look how smart Juve and Barca are who overlooked him. We should have gone for [insert whoever the flavour of the month/quarter/year is].

Imagine being one of these posters that think their opinion is a fact. If thats you, yes, that is where the debate end, if not you can actually post something of substance to add weight to your point.

@Daysleeper

Is Luis Enrique a good manager? After what he did at Barcelona I was wondering why he didnt get much of a chance at another club.

Was his success due to the players he had merited before him or was his management important to your success?

React all they want, I don't see him being a massive leap in quality. He might be slightly better in certain things, but don't see him as the guy that's going to be challenging Pep or Klopp, so yeah, ultimately just a side step.
Maybe if he is hired he could win a cup, but his top 6 record is terrible to believe he's going to win a league.

Fair enough, in that time Ole's won a trophy, why hasn't Poch?
Are you serious? La Liga/PL vs the Norwegian league. Like...

Sure we can hire Neill Lennon. He's won a shit tonne and obviously context doesn't apply. There's a reason Ole has spent the majority of his managerial career in Norway.

Sorry but I guess English is not your first language. Can you please point out explicitly when did I say OGS has been at United for five years?
Likewise, you are the one that started talking about what United had spent over the last 5 years, so please explicitly explain to me, what's that got to do with Ole

Great, I suggest you read through the conversation and understand context.

Whats Pochs style of play? Whats his pros and cons for you?
High intensity press, forwards heavily involved in ball recovery in the opponents half, tactical discipline, good use of full backs as well as the CMs in building attacks, likes to use a mobile DM to shield the CBs as well as be the link between defence and attack. Not afraid to cut off passengers from the squad. But this came back to haunt him at Spurs when he needed a bigger squad to finish off the season successfully.

Feckin hell...read my post.when did I ever mention your demigod OGS in it? And if you knew how to read and understand English, you would see I wrote "in the same period of five years that Pochettino was managing Spurs" he had an average annual net spend of 19 mils compared to United with 120 mils. And it was in response to you saying he spent money every season bar one.

Purchased players: 74

Players with fee: 26
Transfer expenditure: £396,432,000
Fee per player: £15,247,385
Chosen : 26.05.2014 - 18.11.2019

I don't give a shit about his net spend, hes not involved in negotiations, all it shows is Levy is better than Woodward at getting rid of deadwood. But keep peddling your myth about Poch.
Let's get Poch in shall we, buy a lot of crap and see what sticks and then see a bigger pool deadwood pile up. Clown

Still you didn't show me where I mentioned your master OGS in my post!
Also do you agree that just as we should deduct Kane's performance from Pochettino's achievements, Martial and perhaps Rashfords goals should be taken away to judge OGS actual record?
And still didn't answer the most important question of all. Who would hire OGS if he is fired now.

Head in sand. Keep it buried that way. Will prevent you from spouting nonsense. Dumdum.
