What a feck all article. Seems the author was more concerned with making Detective TV puns rather than doing some Sherlock like investigative work himself.
Didn't even get the scout right, it was our French academy scout Mathieu Seckinger who brought Kambwala in

Was this with a 14s or 15s team? Thought 15s beat crewes 16s yesterday?
Different teams, currently lots of boys in the squad, they took the best U15’s away to play crew U16 (and they won) and the rest of the squad played the U15 Blackburn the following day, (who lost)
it might be an A and B team

U15s got a very lucky 2-1 win over City tonight, set play and an OG, they got battered for most of the game.

From your experience of the youth setup is the revamp happening below u18 where we see the all the youth signings?

I’ve seen the footage, United were not battered, they played well, Louis Jackson (U15) scored a header from a corner, the other goal is scrappy ? Own goal.
United only played with U15, most of the U15’s who beat city U16 the other week were selected. City doing the normal / boring passing back and needing to start again, but being out played by United throughout the 80 mins.

Report I got was it was very good game. City dominated first half and should have been winning by more than a goal. Second half we changed formation and went more direct and deservedly scored from a couple of set pieces. From what I have seen United are very physically developed in that age group compared to a lot of teams and at 14 will score a lot of headers and set pieces. Be interesting to see how many make up an eventual 18s side as the years above and below are average at best.

Yep. Watched 15s a few times (though obviously not last night) and they have some good players. My point is they are a very developed side. Finding a way to win is never a bad thing but I've never been sure what style of play we encourage in younger ages. A point I know that has been made by other posters other than me. I agree that City can be predictable like the first team but it's a problem I think at United that any DNA running from the first team down is lacking which can clearly be seen higher up.

Haha, I notice you’ve re edited your posts in the McNeill thread. You know we have a lot of oppo fans here so it’s not a problem.

Just couldn't buy into the notion that McNeil coming here wasnt about anything other than money. He walked out of the club at 12 for City, tried to hold them to ransom over the summer and came back for money. He's another decent player. Not top drawer and I would reckon Hugill is a better prospect but good luck to the lad.

Juve and Rangers offered him a lot more than we did. So clearly it’s not about the money and your bitterness in this case is pretty obvious even with the Retroactively edited posts.

and if even we did offer him more money, I don't see a problem with that. We are one of the richest clubs in the world, i would rather have great talents joining us for money rather than seeing City taking our best youngsters away for money(which happened three-fours years ago)

I do agree that it's a very physically developed side from what I've seen, which gave them dominating results at younger age. But they also have some tiny players like Missin, Pickup or Tom Jones who might grow later, so it works both way I guess.

Poor Missin if he has a quiet game - the tabloids will have a field day

Quite like Missin. Has very special moments, but has largely been a moments player in the few matches I've seen. Undersized so is disadvantaged right now. He's one that I would't be surprised if he puts it all together at a later date compared to his teammates.

The u15’s did not beat City 16’s. City 16’s won 4-2 convincingly. United certainly did not outplay City, it was City who controlled the game and looked a different level. I’ve watched the game and I’m a United fan. Sometimes pal you just have to be honest and not delusional.

Has anybody heard much on who’s going to be offered a scholarship from the current crop of u16’s? From what I’ve seen of them, there’s possibly 2 or 3 worth mentioning, although nothing special.

No loan moves for Galbraith (unless the rumour of the First Team promotion is true), Puigmal, Bernard and Bishop or Carney would be disappointed.
They'll all have another chance quite soon though at least. 2 and a half months til Jan.

Other than Galbraith who I think could do with one and realistically isn’t going to get any time with the first team I’m not too bothered about those not getting loans.

Puigmal is still injured I believe anyway but he’s also not really done much at u23s level. With their midfield being atrocious so far as well, now is a good time for him to claim a CM spot and show what he’s about.

Bernard is ready for a loan but selfishly from a club standpoint I’m happy with him staying. He’s formed a good partnership with Fish, the younger and bigger talent. Bit unfair on him personally, but him helping Fish’s development is better for the club at the end of the day.

As for Carney and Bishop, I just don’t care about keepers tbh. Carney doesn’t look much good and I’m not sure what Bishop’s role actually is.

Ahh and just as I said he’d be good to stay and help Fish, he’s off on loan to Salford.

Best of luck to him, he’s made massive strides over the last year.
You make a good point but i'm still happy for Bernard's loan move and Mengi (If he doesn't get minutes for the First Team in the next couple of weeks then he should come back), Fish, Ercolani & Bejger are enough options for the position.

Okay if Puigmal is still injured then it's better he stays here til January.
