Even Chelsea fans was wondering why Lampard seemingly plays Mount every single game. That same delusion has seemingly passed onto Southgate. Meritocracy, my ass. What has Mount, or anyone done that Grealish hasn't done this season better and doing so at a bottom ten club?

DCL on the left? Surely it would have made more sense bringing on Grealish instead.

Same reason why Mourinho loved Lingard & didn’t like Martial, he works his ass off. Pragmatic managers like Mourinho & Southgate are going to pick the work horse over the “lazy” flair player every day of the week. Grealish just isn’t Southgate’s type of player.

Southgate obviously putting personal vendettas before player ability. Which is strange since Grealish is a leader on the pitch and gives his all every game. He won’t last long Southgate, obviously not capable of leading a big nation like England. A sentence used enough on here the last few months.

Hes there for pressing like Lingard was, anything he produces on the ball seems a bonus

What's lazy is applying a "lazy" stereotype to Grealish because he's a "flair" player, when you'll find, backed up by a whole host of statistics, that Grealish has a great work-rate, both defensive and offensive alike.

Funny feelings of football:

England managers get given a handbook with one golden rule in it; if a striker earns a spot but you don’t fancy them, you play them wide for a few matches to justify your lack of interest.

Felix better not start for the national team again anytime soon.

Jota, Ronaldo, Silva, Bruno is our best front 4.

Felix really is not ready to be a starter for the first team. They forcing Felix down our throats and the kid has not proven anything.

I don’t think he’s lazy, hence why I put it in quotation marks. I think Southgate is a fool who is going to waste this generation of players, but I was just giving you my opinion as to why.

Southgate is a very defensive manager; flair players are the absolute last priority for him.

Mount had a good game. Grealish should be playing with Mount.

There have been lots of players down the years who are flair players and have been under used. Hoddle and Le Tissier come to mind. It's not like England have ruled the world not using them.

I don't think that's restricted to England managers.

Yeah Mount's the type of player who's skillset complements the star players but he won't be a player that drags you through a game himself.

He actually reminds me a bit of Pedro in that sense.
