I don’t think he improves a great deal on what we have personally, another cb who can’t head. Barring signing Ramos im not convinced many Spanish CBs would be successful in the PL

Because its fun?

Because its enjoyable to dream about possibilities, instead of accepting the shitty reality of the current situation?

Cheer up, pal, and let us enjoy our football fantasies. Now, I'm off to think about our best formation IF we had Sancho instead of Pogba.

Will go to City next summer after Ake and Dias fail to stop them having a weak defense. He'll be more of the same, looking fancy enough on the ball but not the best defender. And the next summer they'll sign another CB

I could see City challenging for Upamecano who seems to be further in development. I would like to have the CB partnership of Upamecano and Badiashile at United along with Mengi and Tuanzebe. The rest can be sold.

Upamanecano is too good a defender. If Pep continues plan A with his CBs like he has done for a long time now, defending wont be part of the consideration for buying his CBs

Upamecano easily makes the list with his qualities on the ball.

I really want a left footed CB and this guy is near the top of my list. If not him then who?

We don't, hence why we may well be interested in Torres who was clocked as the fastest defender in the league last season.
Really? Just looked at his acceleration and pace on fm2020 and fifa and hes average at best. Nowhere near the acceleration and pace of upamencano.

Ah so let's go based off of what Fifa and football manager say

Do you know how much work goes into trying to get the stats right for players in football manager?
And do you know how often they put in the wrong stats or adjust stars so that certain positions aren't very overpowered? Smalling has 68 pace in fifa. He isn't slow at all.

 You sort of have a point but it’s true they often can wildly misjudge a players characteristics

As far as fifa, their ratings are ludicrous to fit the game engine so the fact you mentioned them as a basis for your point hugely devalues your argument

But paying millions on a not very big upgrade?
Name someone who could reinforce us cheaply. Upamecano would cost 60m and doesn't look like a massive upgrade either for example. I'd love the option of being able to bench players who aren't performing in defence.

Upamecano's release clause is 40m

Send them Romero as well as Rojo. Both Spanish speakers with plenty still to offer.

Ok fine, still a lot of money if he doesn't come here and make himself clearly first choice. Maybe he would but none of Leipzig's defenders look much good outside of Germany at the moment so it's a gamble.

Has anyone actually watched Torres consistently to form a proper opinion ? I’ve heard despite his height he’s not great in aerial duels but don’t no much else, where would he honestly rank against our other centre backs ? Would Torres start ?
