Was this match originally scheduled for TV? If so, it's disgraceful.

Whilst I think the price is extremely excessive, if they weren't planning on full coverage there's a cost involved to the broadcaster.
They have full TV cameras and full match commentary at every single game anyway which will already be getting broadcast live to various places. So the cost is literally putting a couple of C list presenters in a studio for the benefit of the UK audience, which they then probably more than make back on the advertising money alone.

The premier league are trying to pass the bail out on to fans. Fans have suffered enough. I will listen on the radio, the upside being I don't have to watch another lackluster pretense.

They really have revealed what scummy twats they are. about to hit a 2nd wave of a world pandemic and in a week theyve been planning to charge £15 each game AND take over English football when its at its weakest

i fear many will give in, and if this is a success for them imagine what comes next
To be honest man, something like this could be the last nail in the coffin of the top level game for me. People are already annoyed with the insane money in the game, oil owner fake clubs, corruption, corporate feel of the stadiums, idiot players etc. This would really put me off having a major interest anymore, if it becomes an indefinite thing. Iptv for now, until they police that fully.

Yeah, forgot that they've always shown every game (somewhere).

Our schedule has us playing 2 games per week. At £15 per game, you would be looking at £120 per month.

That is the 'value' you're looking at.
Suck my salty nuts! Robbing bastards.
Just Imagine what the player's will get paid when the Premiership sucks that tit dry. eeeeeeuuuuuurrrrrrggghhhh. It is chasing a ball around the pitch, my dog (peggy) would outclass every one of them. It is changing from a sport into a gimmick.

Feet up at home.
What annoys me the most is the timing. Some people are losing their livelyhoods left right and center during these troubled times and these greedy bastards are charging this amount of money for a single game.

By the way they have exempted pubs from the extra charge I have been told - what a way to get behind the country in crisis - you can either pay through the nose to watch it at home or go and watch it inside a pub and forget all about covid protection and get smashed with your mates - cos that is what will happen.

Hope it tanks. The fans really need to take a stance on this.
Sadly the fact you've got people on here willing to pay means I fully expect there are many mugs who will also do so, even if its begrudgingly. Such a shame, and it'll result in the football coverage in this country only getting worse.

Yep. Seen it all too often in my other favourite sport, boxing. Everyone stands strong until the evening of the fight and then they break and buy it.

The one hope we have is the dreadful start we’ve had may put off a % of people who otherwise would’ve been on board.

Losing like we have done has been infuriating enough, can’t imagine paying £15 more for the privilege.

Why doesnt that attitude help?

"If it were a reasonable price, I would pay it". I am in the same boat.
Because Sky/BT/TV companies will realise that and it will become ‘the norm’ and it will become normal for people to pay for additional games on top of their monthly subscriptions, which are already outrageously too expensive.

Too many people will pay the £15 tomorrow and it will open new revenue streams for clubs. Give it a few more years and additional games will be on Box Office.

It’s disgusting

I will not be streaming this. Definitely not on a free app, that I do not have on my phone, that does not have every tv channel possible.

I would love if it were five euro just to watch whatever game you want to watch, instead of paying 80 euros a month for sky sports.

I dont watch any other sports so it would make sense for me. Whenever United are on just pay the five euro and watch it on my laptop.

At 17 euro it would be too dear.

Having just paid 10 quid (NOW TV day pass) to watch us get thumped by Jose’s Spurs 6-1 and the same for the Palace game I’m not sure if I can bring myself to do it, especially in the context of the money going to the scumbags running our club and the money grabbers of the EPL.

I’ve spent hundreds of pounds these past years going to OT, paying for SKY/BT and kept it up (save cancelling sky and opting for day passes instead) no matter how crap we werebut the idea of paying SKY 15 quid to watch this tepid, training match, empty stadium shite on TV is a step too far I feel.

At least having spent 50 quid watching us shart out a 0-1 loss against Burnley or someone with no shots on target, I still enjoyed spending the afternoon at OT and supporting the lads in the flesh, so I didn’t mind forking spending so much.

I also want to be part of letting the EPL know what a scummy idea this Box Office is during a pandemic, and I hope the number of people paying is tiny.

(I’ll no doubt have cracked by 8pm and be deeply regretting paying about 15 minutes in...)
Not a chance. I know someone who has IPTV which works amazing in my living room. It’s not mine though. I’m not sure who’s it is to be honest. It’s been left here for a while but it works great. It’s got a label on it saying £60 for a year and you get all the channels including every match in EPL and abroad.

I really should try and give it back to the owner.

Oh my lordy lord. Both Manchester teams on Pay per view tomorrow. Don't fans pay enough? I have watched matches through Amazon, Sky and BT this season and have all bu if I want to watch those two matches tomorrow I pay again twice!

This does not impress me at all. No way!

Guarantee that Sky will start selecting games like Southampton Vs Palace for their main channels and all the big clubs will be on box office. They'll do it gradually but by the end of the year the difference will be obvious.

Once you're addicted there's no going back that's the problem. And they know it. What else is there to fill a weekend with? If you possibly can afford it then you do.
