Watching the TV or is it watching me
Have a story about Pickford, one of the lads I go cricket with is fairly well off and generally flys1st class, anyways he was flying back from Vegas and Pickford was sat opposite him and Pickford couldnt work out how to use the 1st class panel and my mate had to show him how to do it basically said he was thick as feck which is unsurprising really.

Also that was definitely a red card today regardless of the offside or not

Category the foul falls into, I think. It gets counted as "serious foul play" rather than "violent conduct", even though it was more violent than most examples of "violent conduct". So if Pickford had lightly slapped VVD the offside wouldn't have mattered but if he clatters into him with both feet then it does. *shrugs*
That’s where common sense needs to prevail. Those light slaps getting reds and this nothing.

Very rash and overates in my opinion. Falls into the same category as Joe Hart. Great at times bit guaranteed to make a howler each game.

Ah you’re that Max...heard a few things about you around NI.

If you hadn’t mentioned it in this post I would have never known. Very interesting.

No, offside cancels out serious foul play, violent contact would have been the only way to get a red card
Yep, apparently tackles always count as serious foul play.

Which I guess means that if a defender knew for sure the attacker was offside they could happily smash into them with a tackle deliberately designed to injure, safe in the knowledge that it wouldn't be punished? As long as it was a tackle it wouldn't count after the offside.

See this is where football is a nonsense. So you can two foot someone and literally injure them and get nothing at all and yet you can’t tap someone in the face causing nothing at all. It’s a farse!

That could have been a career ender. A nonsense that Pickford is not punished for it.

Catastrophy of a goalkeeper. I reckon he will be playing championship withing the next 5 years. Only through past glories I might say.

Or not:

Not sure how a "genuine attempt to play the ball" would be judged, mind. I'm sure he was genuinely attempting to play the ball, he's just fecking awful.

Everton have got the ingredients to make a strong challenge for top four or better this season but if they don't make it, they'll really regret not going more strongly for a goalkeeper in the summer.

His kicking is what annoys me the most, the amateurish looking long wind up, as if he is trying to kick the ball out of the stadium, just aesthetically irritating.

Explain the richarlson red then? Whistle had went already before that challenge as well.

It's a red all day long
