they are sat at home disappointed that we won. They would rather spout crap about the team, the club, the manager, every player.

we have the worst fanbase in Europe.
The very worst - and it's not a top red thing, if someone plays badly, criticise them constructively all you like, but the vile and direct insults towards the manager and players has been terrible

It was almost like not replacing an injured goalkeeper was not a good decision by Steve Bruce. Seriously though we look so much better with Donny on the pitch. What does the lad have to do to start?

Rashford is a kind of player that turn on when we have a terrible run in the league, should have been 6-1. Feeling sorry for Newcastle GK, this is probably his greatest game as the 2nd choice keeper.

The team had a good attitude today and got a deserved result. Newcastle had very little quality apart from their goalkeeper being decent today. I would not take much from this game in the grand scheme of things.

The only downside is Ole survives... the good vibes will continue for next 2,3 games and then again a long run of mediocrity

If we'll take so much from the bad results against us, surely it follows that we should take just as much from good results that come our way?

If he is feeling good and can continue, why would Bruce replace him? Their subtitute GK is not playing a single game in a year though.

I agree VdB is making a run like no body else to open the defence. He should start every game.

He got mugged of the ball by Jonjo Fecking Shelvey.

That alone is a enough to sit out the next game.
If your standard for picking players is them never losing the ball to average players then you're going to struggle to field a team each week.

Was Bruno involved in all 4 goals, poor game for his standards and still has that return

My standard for picking players is their willingness to play for United.

Pogba irks me with his lack of desire.

I might be wrong about the United part, maybe he just plays like that.

You know, that lazy walk, arrogant posture.

Something is off. Getting mugged by Jonjo solely because he thinks he's better then him just shows his passion in this moment.

    There is none.

You must be devastated. Some others too.
Seriously? Why do people act like such babies because they don't like what someone says?

Do you think Newcastle were anything other than poor today? If you say no, then you instantly agree that failing to beat them would have been awful.

Your issue seems to be with the player rather than his performance.

A good performance, after the 2nd minute. Can't remember when was the last game with so many shots at goal.

DDG was good and what a brilliant save from Willson
AWB offered more at attack for a change, even managing a goal
Fernandes, till the last 10 min, was looking a bit drunk. Everything was off
Pogba had his best game this year
James had a very good game, though tried a little too much
    Marcus was great
    Mata was the best

There were a lot of players who played well. I would particularly like to highlight: Maguire, McTominay, Mata, Bruno and Rashford.

Mata is really good against many of the more defensive teams. But I would not use him in matches against the top 6 teams where there is more pace. McTominay should play every single time, when he's ready. He is so important to the balance of the team.

I think this is one of the better games under Ole. What a response from United. We´ve got Mata, who needs Sancho!

I just feel sad for the likes of you who were waiting for a defeat or draw and then when the team wins first thing they write is something along the lines “but the other team was poor”.
It is the same team Spurs could only score 1 goal against. They had 2 weeks to prepare for this and a good momentum, while we were under a lot of pressure and had a lot of players coming back from international duty only on Thursday.
No one is saying that it was a historical performance, but no team (well apart from Villa and Spurs) will get such historical performances in this crazy season. It’s all about results currently especially for teams who are in Europe and will have to play every 3-4 days.
Just try to be happy with the result without spreading negativity for once.

When you get humiliated 1-6 at home after being similar bad in the previous two games in the league then it´s major reason to be concerned because that are completely unacceptable that should had consequences. Ole don´t have a decent CV as a manager and the club pretty much said that you can be this bad and still keep your job. A decent win against a very bad Newcastle don´t erase that. Manchester United got humiliated at Old Trafford, and sticking to what is a mediocre manager after that sends the wrong signals going forward about what is acceptable at this club. The standards required at this club is really low considering its one of the biggest football clubs in the world.

Ole have been here for a while now and the only thing we seem to do ok at is counter attacking though not consistently. This isn´t good enough to warrant more time after getting such bad results. Just because you give someone one more time to get it right that dosnt mean it will work out good. Poor managers will bring in poor results over time regardless of the support you give them.

The team seemed motivated to play tonight and that was good to see but it was against a bad team that likely will get relegated.

Are you aware that we were unbeaten from January in the league? Was that all counterattacking football? Does that not go on Ole's CV??

How about his exploits at Molde? Should we just ignore those?

To this topic, bad result - like we have with SAF more than once, what matters then is that you get a response, and a response we got

Whether something is negative depends on how you take it.

I would say it was a dull game for long periods of time that had some sparks. You naturally do not have the same level of excitement for a win when the game is flat, especially when the opposition offers nothing to the game.

Newcastle offered nothing and Manutd made it a real struggle to score against them (all the goals were bunched and the end, and Newcastle looked beaten after 2-1). It's good to win, but there is a lot more to it to actually make it exciting.

In the end, football is for entertainment purposes and the game didn't really do its job.

Let us know what else future lineups tells you so we can expect the exact opposite:wenger:
we conceded in the 2nd minute and had to go for it. Credit to Ole but how was that prediction disproven? I also see you're bumping prematch posts. We'll see how this 1uping ends for you, this is barely the final match of the season

Also playing defensive counter is no insult and we're likely to employ it in the CL against possession based teams so no clue why you feel that post is worthy of a bump
