A draft "Trade Business Draft" will be a great idea i.e.Brexit Draft: swap, sell and loan players for 1 round, etc..

This would be an innovative and fun draft for you

14-16 players squad should be in every draft
in addition to that, we should also implement injuries into every draft and not just use them in reality ones....1 or 2 random injuries before every round, would also open a completely different pool of players, utility guys that get screwed in small squads but would have a great value if injuries were a thing.

Yeah, starting XI plus 3 subs. The drafting of subs is optional on managers choice.

I'm not a fan of must feature rules for them. Just let them be.

Injuries is also a useful tactics to refresh stuff, but must be managed carefully to avoid unbalancing team's.

Injuries should have to happen for all teams and get the same number of injuries. I'm not sure if we have done it this way before but injuring players via their pick number would be broadly fair. For double picks if there's generally consensus that one player is better than another then they should be assigned the lower pick number. When it's broadly similar, use a randomiser. If you don't randomise the two picks 1st and 16th drafter could work out which player position would be wiped out with an injury and place a player in a different position to benefit.

After reinforcements, keep the original pick numbers of players who are blocked then randomise between them per team.

E.g. by the Final, Scrappy may have three 1st round pick players. If 1 is drawn to injury, these three players would go into the randomiser to see who would be injured.

But I do think injuries should make a come back

Manchester United Draft

1. De Gea
2. Grant
3. Henderson
4. Romero
5. Lindelof
6. Bailly
7. Jones
8. Smalling
9. Maguire
10. Rojo
11. Dalot
12. Shaw
13. Mensah
14. Bissaka
15. Williams
16. Tuanzebe
17. Pogba
18. Mata
19. Lingard
20. Pereira
21. Fred
22. Bruno
23. James
24. Matic
25. Donny
26. McTominay
27. Martial
28. Rashford
29. Ighalo
30. Greenwood
31. Cavani*
32. Telles*

Its simple, at the end of the drafting your squad needs to have:
  • 2 players from the current squad and both MUST start in the first round
  • 1 United Legend
  • 2 ex United players that never won the league
  • 3 ex United players that won the league
  • 2 current players with a peak of 17-20
  • 1 all time player that never won World Cup or Champions League
  • 1 Liverpool player that didnt win the league with them(at least 1 full season(30 games minimum(not just league)))
  • 1 Leeds player that didnt win the league with them(at least 1 full season(30 games minimum(not just league)))
  • 1 Man City player that didnt win the league with them(at least 1 full season(30 games minimum(not just league)))
Draft Rules:
1 Injury per round(criteria based so all lose the "same" player)
All United players are judged on a United performances
All other club players are judged on performances at those clubs
Classic physio rule of at least 1 game online
No Coropa League
4+4 deadlines in a classic snake draft
Order of picks is a manager choice but at the end of the draft he has to have all criterias covered

working on a Only Fools and Horses Draft with the help of fortitude, should be a fun draft if there will be interest....rules can be made fairly quickly, working on player pool takes a bit time but would be done by the time current draft ends.

Just had a thought about a 1 season wonder draft. Rather than the usual 3 year peak, you select a single season for the player to be judged on. Could potentially open up the field a bit

I was thinking about that earlier but sadly same names would win in the end, similar to the one tornament draft we had few years ago....

Yeah quite possibly, just trying to think of how to get different names in the final rounds without completely obliterating the field to pick from.

It would require everyone to vote in the spirit of the draft, rather than looking purely at names.

anyways, @Fortitude @Invictus and myself finally finished the Fools and Horses Draft so if there is interest we can start it anytime....its a fun draft but to keep it fun we cant really reveal anything which is obviously a crap selling point:lol: Similar to Draft About Nothing which was a huge success so i guess you have to trust us.
Also, you dont have to be familiar with the show to play the draft!

Draft will start with every manager sending a secret character from the show via PM and their should not reveal their character to anyone until the end of draft. Sadly thats all we can share about this draft

Draft Rules

  • Any players born on or before 31st December 1939 will require a link to a full-game in which they appeared.
  • Snake Free Style
  • Initial squads will be formed of 13 players minimum
  • One random injury per round
  • No changing of picks. If you not sure about someone ask the committee via PM
  • To help avoid fielding ineligible players, please make it known on the main thread if you know a drafter has picked a ineligible player
  • You have 4 hours for each pick, if you PM your pick to committee you get additional 4 hours
  • All matches to be completed within a week of the draw. No shows will forfeit unless there are serious extenuating circumstances. Even if you can't put together an OP just send a team sheet.

Match Rules

There shall be no subs during the game, but tactical changes are permitted.

In the event of a draw, committee will declare a winner by for now a secret criteria.

NB.
In the case of having duo managers one will have to be the main debater with the co-manager only allowed three posts per thread to prevent double teaming.

Reinforcements

to be continued....

Block List

G.Muller, Pele, Beckenbauer, Scirea, Kohler, Maradona, Matthaus, R.Baggio, Cristiano Ronaldo, Di Stefano, Puskas, Garrincha, Xavi, Messi, Cruyff

Committee

Looks like fun! I will watch from a distance and work on getting more likes. At the moment, I only get 5 comments per day, so I need to get into full member status to be able to do drafts it seems. Just thinking about future draft idea's but have you done a draft where every player drafted, had to of at one point in there career played for a certain manager? For example someone like Jose Mourinho comes to mind. I dunno, just thinking out load which does get me in trouble at times

This is easily been the best round though. High time we have a proper transfers draft. Someone needs to format it nicely.
Perhaps with some elements from the draft league (squad depth & injuries) - I could imagine a WC style format with group stage & knock out round, transfer window after each match.

I was thinking on a Transfer Market Draft where the pool will be players who have switched clubs on a particular year. A new year will be provided for every round.

For example, if year for round in 1982, then pool will be players who have switched clubs between 1981-82 and 1982-83 seasons.

Thinking of allocating some transfer budget in there somehow too.

few questions and ideas:wenger:

Injuries
  • what are people thoughts on it? Personally i love it as it emphasis on the squad rather then the "same" XI from R1 to the Final.
  • also, i used a system where i randomized a number for each team separately, talking with physio he is planning to use a different method where everyone lose a player from the same round. More fair but also more boring :D
Peaks
  • id implement a rule where everyone has to announce peaks after the drafting is finished so once you get a draw the opponent can research it and see if there are any loopholes.
"Zidane"
  • i use this all the time but dont know if others are so reckon its best to ask. Mental aspect of the game, Zizou is a perfect example of a player that in most games drifted in and out while in big games and big moments you could always count on him to be at his best. So, shall we rate them as such and should their value go up with draft moving to the final stages? Same applies to bottlers that have a history of shrinking in big moments - Higuain comes first to mind.
