Should we be worried about Rashford?

Haha. Brilliant story! No wonder you get to keep telling it. And I’ve no doubt there was real venom blended into the cheeky Scottish smile when he delivered that line.

Like I said in the Maguire thread, I think both Rashford and Maguire are intelligent players with very good mentality to begin with, and I’m pretty confident they’ll bothhit back at some point as improved players and even more important to the team. How long it will take, I’m just guessing, but I have good faith in both of them.
I’m what-did-I-tell-youing this, I’ll admit that. It’s rash and dire, but I’m doing it anyway.

22 year old player being inconsistent. Shocker.
Some in here tend to overlook flaws quickly when a player of any age has a quality game. It’s not incorrect to state his flaws, I hope that he can limit them going forward & truly embrace an elite level for a long period of time. Glimpses like yesterday are encouraging to see.

Looked very comfortable as a CF.
Hopefully he gets back to his pre lockdown form but hey canr fault his output.
2 assists, a goal and a penalty on him last night. Directly involved in 3 or well almost 4 goals.

Hope he plays just as badly on Tuesday. Imagine only getting a goal & two assists, poor show.
Some of our fans are genuine morons who has ridiculously high expectations from our players. They think that every player in the world makes no mistake or a bad decision in a match.

The truth is ofcourse that there's no attacking players who doesn't make mistakes in a match.

Rashford should be our main striker play him through the middle with Bruno and Van De Beek alongside or behind him and we will be a lot more effective .

Thought that was a proper world class strikers goal
Very true. What concerns me though is when he mucks up other opportunities like the 1v1 with the keeper that was ruled offside (he wasn't). His first touch was pretty bad and ruined the chance. I will also add his off-target shots and a couple were not that hard.

Good match for him but it doesn't erase my concerns with his play in the last 6 months.

Agree, I think the Martial experiment has failed. He looks good sometimes but doesn't play enough on the shoulder like Rashford did yesterday. His constant running in behind caused them problems all game.

He quite literally just had his best season for us playing up top and was integral in our front 3 looking as good as any at one point with his link up play and understanding with Bruno and the our wingers.

We wouldn't have made the top 4 without his many goal contributions down the stretch last season yet that all gets thrown out the window after Rashfords best performance in months since before his injury?

Not sure what the expectations are for this lad judging by some of the criticism he gets. He's 22, will only get better, and has it in him to be at this club for many many years. I don't have any worries about his temperament either as he seems a decent guy-and that's not just taking into account his political actions.

I agree, he was great in spells last season and for once had a good goal return, I just don't think he's good enough consistently to lead the line. He's been anonymous so far this season and we could definitely do with other options up front that aren't 33 years old.

But the same assessment could easily be given on Rashford’s output through the years. One good game from Rashford doesn’t separate Rashford from Martial in any way. Both have very similar issues at times, we have seen Rashford not be successful leading the line a few times.

3 goals and a few assists. Martial hasn't looked sharp at all this season so far, hasn't scored and also got sent off needlessly.

This constant digging on Rashford needs to stop from our so called supporters. Martial is just as inconsistent and frustrating at times. People have very short memories.

Both of them are good players and there's not much to split them either. Just don't both seem to ever be in form at same time.

Yep. There’s not much daylight between the two.

And again, I agree but both can play CF and both can play LW so it’s time for martial to do a shift out wide until Rashford starts firing blanks or Martial’s performances improve.

I’m not making absolute statements here, things can change and players can improve. There’s a lot of grey area but I’m still not totally convinced Martial will ever be more than a squad option at a top team.
