Can't see Cavani not playing at some point if he's available. He knows too much about the opposition not to.

Would Ole take him with just one days training though
He should. Martial and Ronaldo played very quickly after signing iirc, and Cavani actually knows the PSG defenders after years of training with them, so taking him wouldn't exactly be a bad thing.

That would be pretty stupid, Cavani doesn't know when to manage his efforts and his last game was in march.

    Doubt it.
We have others match fit and he’d be better in a front 3. I don’t see Ole playing him in a pivot with attackers either side this early.

    Future games definitely

It's usually easier the other way around. Defenders have an easier time when the know the attacker (especially someone like Cavani without a lot of versatility). I'm not actually sure it helps the attacker a lot.

From a United perspective, it will be immensely helpful to have someone from the inside playing for us.

Very true but gut feeling is the reunion with PSG won't happen until the return game, think he could play some part against Chelsea though

I think Ole is the right man for now, but it’s games like this where you don’t really have faith in him. Tactically he’s not there, I can’t see us getting one over on PSG in that respect - the only chance we have is relying on individual moments or great team goals like yesterday because they’re going to get in behind so much.

It might be useful having him in the group, but i don't really see him playing being that big an advantage. Thiago Silva is gone, he never played with florenzi, Bakker, Rafinha or Danilo, Verratti (who's the mastermind in the midfield) will probably be injured etc. and on top of that, he's not that kind of player that commands anything when he's on the pitch. To be honest i'm really not concerned about Cavani.

This is what I want to see. Bailly for Lindelof though. Need someone to help with Mbappes pace.

It's so fecking hard to predict how we'll play. One day we look fantastic and the other we're a hot mess. We do have a chance to win this but unfortunately I think PSG will be dominant and win comfortably, Mbabbe, Neymar and Di Maria will be too much for our defense to handle. They are the type of players you can't really prepare for, you just have to have the quality to stop them which I don't think we have.

Dont see why we need pogba for this game, you only have to look at psg who made it to last year's final as a good example of hardworking midfield (herrera, marquinhos, verratti) working better than having a bunch of ballers in it that neglect defensive duties and dont cover much ground.

5 defenders and a workhorse midfield.

    DDG
    AWB -- Lindelof -- Maguire -- Shaw -- Telles
    McTominay -- Fred
    Bruno
    Rashford -- Martial

    Impact subs: Cavani, Pogba, VDB
PSG, they're not really that good.. potent attacking force though. Huge threat, but not unstoppable. They have a good manager, curious how he'll set his team.

They play almost the same tactics that we do. 4-2-3-1 in defence and 3-2-5 in attack. The difference is they have Mbappe and Neymar and better midfield balance.

    Play that, no?
Pogba can do a job there, push out on the wing or come inside when he wants, further up the pitch and not as vulnerable when he gives the ball away cheaply.
Van de Beek can play that box to box role, aggressive, busy player, wants more attacking role, but can't at the moment.
Energetic, fast McTominay over Matic at the moment..

If not Pogba there, then Mata or James, not Greenwood for now.

I'd nearly start McTominay in the back 5, and play Pogba instead of Shaw/Telles in the double pivot. At the end of the day he's our best player.

    No pogba for me..
3 at the back with Telles and shaw is the way to go for this game

I mean a game plan. Our style of play and direction isn’t very structured compared to say Liverpool or City

Think we'll do this. Would like to see Van de Beek start but doubt Ole will leave Pogba out in this game.
    That´s the team I expect.

Are people seriously putting Pogba and Matic? Herrera and Gueye will have them for lunch.

Play Fred and MCT to stop them from getting the ball to the forwards and hit them on

Why on earth do you think he was given a 5 year, 100K per week contract?
Because he's seen as our long term keeper after De Gea, and to stop him going elsewhere.

Doesn't mean he'll suddenly be either the league or champs league keeper.
FA cup and Europa for now.

A lot of oppos see us getting smashed. I fear for us, but I'd love to see us surprise everyone.

At the end of what day is Pogba our best player? The guy who has just been dropped from the team.

We have Bruno Fernandes, they don't. We'll do them again.
I'm focusing more on Neymar and Mbappe against Shaw, Lindelof, Maguire and AWB. Those two could play a five-a-side against those with DDG in goal and still win 10-0. If PSG are on, they can trounce us with six. Let's hope they are not.

Arguably our most talented but also inconsistent and infuriating. Great having him come on in games until some consistency returns but otherwise Bruno/Mata/DVB/Fred/McT all give100% even if they don't have his ability.

    Like they did last time?

You're giving them far too much respect. Even with those 2 they struggle to win games in Ligue 1. Having a deep squad helps them out of trouble far more than just having Mbappe and Neymar
