There's always a few exceptions.

Greenwood is not looking like one of them thus far though, is he? Being dropped by both his club and country for being a moron. Funny that.
Did you want to buy Sancho last summer?

It’s mind bending stupid to draw a link to having tattoos.

Not for 120m no. I've said that numerous times on this forum. The same guy who misses training due to 'sleeping issues'.

Would Fergie have signed him is a better question.

You're giving him too much leeway, most athletes don't act like that. Those that participates in olympics / balletes / chess and most other traditional sports at professional level sacrifices much more you don't hear this shit coming from them. Footballers got away with so much more.
Nobody cares if a ballerina or a chess player goes on the piss. Why would that be in the paper?

Let's see if Greenwood is in the travelling squad to Paris. Williams is training so i assume he will travel. Haven't seen any of Mason in the training video to be honest

Very disappointing if true. I think it was very telling that Ole just said 'hopefully he will be fit soon' You mean he was injured?? Hamsting? Muscle injury?

I seem to have misjudged Greenwood in that I though his attitude and 'level headedness' were nailed on. It appears they are not. If his behaviour doesnt change immediately, he will not hit the heights we initially thought that he might. Unless you are the ultimate professional, you can forget about becoming one of those very very few players who regularly features in Balloon Dor conversations. He has the talent to do so I believe.

For me, the signs were there as to his mentality as soon as he appeared plastered in tattoos mid way last season. Yes I know I'm old fashioned but if anybody ever presented themselves for an interview with tattoos, I'd tell them to just get get out, unless I was trying to form a rock band. Tattoos used to be the mark of a rebel, now every moron has them.

Every second footballer has a load of tattoos these days pal

Yeah a ballerina or a chess player isn’t exactly an elite athlete who needs to be in tip top condition to perform week in week out. A footballer for 90 minutes does

Presume you mean link to stupidity. I think choices related to how you chose to appear are a good indicator. At the very minimum maturity level. If you have reached maturity (Greenwood hasn't I guess) then yes I think it's stupid.

Charlie Nichlos and his earring is a wonderful example.

The guys in that channel are not very credible... yes, they do know some ex-players and get some on their channel. Not too hard given that Tony works at Hotel Football. If they heard any sort of rumour, they are 100% of the types to start spouting it like it's a fact.

How much do you think these ex-players would even know? Do you think Ole is in a group Whatsapp with Giggs and Neville blabbing about what is happening behind closed doors?

Yea no famously hardworking dedicated players like Zlatan for example would ever get tattoos or anything.

Jesus wept.
You're addressing Alan Partridge there. Have some respect.

What does that Tony guy work as in the hotel? Genuine question. Hotel security?

Did you read the post I was replying to? As your response makes no sense whatsoever in the context.

Young player enjoys a drink now and then and laying with beautiful women...shock, surprise. If only social media and cancel culture was as rampant during Rooney’s young days, as it seemed he was far worse than what Mason is being called out for.

It is good though that Ole is trying to reign this type of behaviour in before it gets worse. Last thing we want is another Ravel Morrison. Hopefully a player like Cavani could show Mason the standard it takes to be playing at a high level into your 30s.

The whole 'kids acting like kids' and 'I'd be doing the same' argument is so flawed.

They're getting a lot of money and privilege and in return they are expected to behave professionally, I doubt the club is bothered about them letting off steam but as long as it's done at the appropriate times, it isn't all over the media and it doesn't effect performances, if they feel these requirements aren't being met then the players are rightfully getting punished.

The Iceland incident was undefendable.

Three (known) so far, the England 'escapade'/Partying at AirBB flat/ now this... lads got a target painted on his back from the press, unless someone takes him in hand this sort of thing will follow him all his career.
Please will someone take the loaded gun off the lad to stop him keep shooting himself in the foot!
Come on now. Only Greenwood can control this situation, he is the one making decisions and the press are just feeding off his mistakes and poor judgement. The only way to stop this is to stop giving the press the ammunition, after recently being dropped by England you would think he would have the sense to lay low for a period of time. Only one person is to blame for this and that is Mason, personally responsibility is key here.

Deepthroating information to Howard Nurse.
There's a big difference you're failing to see.

No one gives a shit what kids, or players for that matter, get up to when they don't play for Manchester United.
How many players have been sent home from the squad after their first international call up? Fairly certain that isn’t a normal occurrence. The hippie crack stuff was bollocks and hopefully this isn’t true but if it is that’s the second game he’s missed this season due to being unprofessional. I don’t quite understand how that’s “normal” or in any way acceptable.

Comes across if true, as a bit immature. Which is to be expected given his age.

Still though, Ole needs a good hard word with him.

I'm just showing that not all famous teenagers act like Greenwood.

We've had hundreds and thousands of youth graduate, not everyone of them made the news of banging icelandic chick don't they?
I agree they probably don't all behave that way but we really don't know what most of them get up to.

Anyone who isn't high profile could be doing anything but it's not going to sell papers so nobody cares.

The Iceland incident is only a thing because of Covid making rules that players can't meet up with basically anyone, which is especially hard for the younger players growing into their new found fame.

This is is the only place I've even seen this mentioned so far.

Seen nothing in the gutter press, who would fall over themselves for a fresh negative United story, or social media about these rumors...

Either those podcast lads have a better source from inside the dressing room than anyone or it's another in the long line of bollocks United stories meant to garner attention for crap podcasts/YT channels

They're both in training today and look all smiles. Let's move onto the next bullshit story - I hear Van Dijk will never play again.

I don't think that's he meant. Ballerina and chess players receive a fraction of the attention that an average pro footballer gets

But where's the rumor even coming from?

Cos unless I've missed something they don't mention drinking in that video.

The reason Fecundo didn't play on Saturday was because he had brought some fine Colombian marching powder over from Uruguay, am I doing it right?

Anyway you dress it up, all of these reports about Greenwood’s behaviour are becoming very worrying.

Your guess is as good as mine

The lads were in training with the rest of the squad this morning so that bodes well for Paris tomorrow at least

he says it right at the start... "too much drinking culture"

edit: about 30 seconds in

but to me it just sounds like he's giving his opinion on why he thinks he's dropped, and nothing more
