Whats there to coach? Only Maguire is decent Lindelof is too light weight, Bailly/Axel are too injury prone and Mengi whilst talented is still young he`s not a De Ligt who will hit the ground running immediately. We NEED a CB
What's there to coach? How to defend as a team, maybe.

Lindelof is a very good player. He's not Vidic, but he's classy. Bailly is a good athlete which would compliment Lindelof or Maguire well - Bailly just needs to dial in his discipline.

Ole already had enough talent. Then add in Telles and wan-Bissaka, both bought under his watch. If he can't make it work with what he has then Ole himself needs to be looked at. The answer for United shouldn't be to spunk money away when we have a stellar talent in the academy.

Let Bailly TFM and Rojo's contract expire this season. I'm going to have a melt down if we renew any of their contract. Mengi and Tuanzebe are highly rated so they should get some game time before we decide to splash any more money on a defender again

Kristoffer Ajer could be a smart long-term investment. He has thoroughly impressed since arriving at Celtic. Solskjaer' s Norwegian connections could help us to take him.

I think he’d be a good signing too.

He won’t end up here, but if he continues to develop he could have a similar trajectory to VvD. Needs to make the right move in the summer and could do with developing a mean streak.

Shoulder injury. Not starting regularly and apparently finding it hard to settle in the city.
"not starting regularly" tends to be my usual choice of words for "he was a starter, their best post-covid player, and their best defender taken over the whole season but is currently recovering from a shoulder operation he underwent on the injury he was forced to play through last season because of how reliant Juve had become on him in the final stages of the season" as well.

He gets a lot of stick from the press and I feel there’s something more behind it. They usually only treat players like that when they’re not confident about their future and I genuinely think he might be looking to move. We’re not looking most appealing at the moment but for me De Ligt is the best young defender in the world and would be my number one target for a defender if it was possible.

I thought he's pretty shite in the air? Hence why they bought Duffy.

I don’t watch a lot of Scottish football but my mate who’s a Celtic fan said he thinks Ajer is a much better defensive midfielder than a centre back and could go on to be a unreal deep lying playmaker if played in that position permanently ?

I wonder what he is basing that on! To the best of my knowledge he has never played there. He started his career as a striker, was then moved in central defence. I have not seen that he has played in midfield for Celtic, and he never did before joining Celtic

Probably fancies himself as a talent spotter since taking over a Sunday league team ha ha, thanks for the info.

Must admit, I thought the whole 'David Alaba to leave Bayern' to be nothing more than a bit of spin, didn't seriously think he'd leave, a deal was always going to be agreed.....
But, apparently yet another round of talks has collapsed and he is free to agree a pre-contract in January.

What a fantastic freebie he would be for someone, albeit on £400k per week.....!!

Not as extreme as VvD nor as dominant as he was in his last two seasons at Celtic, but more than good enough for the EPL.

I will take an wild gamble and predict a move to either Milan or Liverpool either in the January transfer window or in the summer.

How is that a wild gamble ? Given the lad has been linked with a move to AC since last March and with pool needing cover now.

Not a fan at all of him as CB.

He is a great LB/LWB, a competent DM but nothing more.

Nayef Aguerdat Rennes perhaps? Left footed centre back, very strong passer, dominant in the air. Badiashile of course looks a top talent but it sounds like Monaco want a premium for him.

how old is he, 18? Great prospect, but we do need someone with a bit more experience. Hopefully Tuanzebe will stay fit. Then I think we need one more - a player who is looking to take a step up in their career, but with a bit of experience.

Has anyone been watching Celtic regullary? There's some hype around this Ajer lad.
