no coincidence, you drop him, we win games and the defence improves immeasurably

Working well as a super sub. Adds some needed attacking intent in the last 20 minutes or so of the game, while we keep our midfield balanced for the majority of it without him. Keep him in such role please. Best for everyone including him.

Looked absolutely shattered at the end and he only played 30mins.
Right decision to keep him on the bench. Fred on the other hand covered every blade of grass and was still sprinting after 90mins. Pogbas not a United player.
So a Manchester United player is someone who is covering every blade of grass and sprinting after 90 minutes? Not being a better footballer than the opponent?

Pretty much this. It is easy to come on as a sub, so u want subs to be explosive with that space. Hes a good sub, fits it really well.

Is it me or has he become somewhat sluggish. Good cameo tonight, but he looks slower than before the covid break. He has never been the quickest, but he had a "spring" in his step before. Like he could get a meter on other midfielders when going past them.

Regardless of performances, people can only hate him and thats about it, not talking about those who criticise.

Have you guys noticed his hold-up play is much more effective around the box? I think it's because defenders are afraid to commit a foul, it's actually really useful.

Glad for him but should remain a sub.

I’ve said this for months and months, he’s much much better at retaining the ball on the edge of the opponents box.

He’s brilliant in that area at both retaining and recycling the pressure.

Had adequate intensity to his game and definitely was fighting for the win from the first second on the pitch. Still looks unfit to me, maybe even overweight (not fat!).

We played well when he came on, but I prefer the stability we get when he's not on the pitch. He's a very good impact sub.

He looked bothered today from the start... was making those runs and making an effort. When he does that ( it seldom happens) the team usually wins.

As a sub he is perfect because he gets tired too easily in the style of play we'd need from him as a starter
In the past i have seen him make runs from our defense to the opponents goal after 80 minutes of play.. the long injury, corona and lack of preseason affected his stamina or something? This season he has had moments where he looked tired and slow. He wasnt like that before...

Maybe. The only thing I'm sure of is that he cannot display the stamina levels of previous seasons so perhaps it's why he is a sub at the moment

Did Ole crack this "virus" code?

Whether he sets his heart at other CLub already, I hope he put in good performance for United while wearing the shirt. That's all the fans ask.

I believe that’s the case. He barely played last season, and we really don’t know the effect of Covid. It affects everyone differently.

He is in the worst condition of his adult career. Looks heavier and more ponderous that I have ever seen him, like he had aged 10 years in a few weeks, really shouldn't have been starting games in that condition.

Well done Pogba, played well when he came on and his substitution turned the game. My first positive comments on him in a while.

Should only be played in final third, ineffective anywhere else.

He is the perfect sub, appreciate he is better than being a sub but great player to have to come on.

He helped controlled the game once he came on and showed his composure and strength in midfield. Showed energy and passion.

If he worked harder, he would be a starter. Some said we look more solid without him, while others said we scored the winning goal with him. Both are correct. Pogba needs to work harder off the ball and be a bit more smarter. He is too much of a luxury nowadays off the ball to keep picking him as a midfielder.

He looked like he was in his old Juventus kit with the black and white stripes of the new away jersey.

I thought he was brilliant. Looked up for it. He clearly can not play in our central midfield in a massive game against a big team if Bruno is playing also, but he's good enough to be in the first XI if either Bruno is not playing, or Ole can find some mad 4222 formation that worked that could accommodate him at the expense of a right winger or something, which is unlikely.

Bruno is gonna need a rest from time to time, so maybe covering for Bruno while also being a super sub is the best way forward for everyone.

Not just about working harder. He has zero defensive awareness or ability whatsoever, so in a 3 with Bruno he's an absolute liability.
If he could develop his game the same way Milinkovic-Savic has done in the last season to be more defensive, we'd have the option to play our best players together more consistently.

But I don't see that happening.

Yep, spot on. Where he once used his strength to hold off players, he now looks vulnerable, lost the ball a couple of times, but perhaps coming on as sub is what is best for him and the team at the moment.
