He's putting in the ground work to make it easier and cheaper for United to get him next year #SanchoSummer2021

Oh now suddenly Sancho's not special anymore?

Come on guys anyone can see this is seriously one of the biggest talents in world football right now.
Hes still a good player, but the price was very steep, especially considering the circumstances. Also consider the likes of Kagawa and Mikitharian. Both of them were the best players in the Bundesliga when they were at Dortmund, they get here and they turn into a shadow of their former selves.

Of course its disappointing we did not get him when it looked like a sure thing and its annoying we wasted the whole window on this one transfer that did not go through, but after getting some time to digest it i am not really that bothered tbh

Much more annoyed about us missing out on Haaland when he was on the move and when his release clause becomes active in 2022 i think half the clubs in Europe will be competing for his signature

I mistakenly said in another thread it was active now, but after having another look, 90% of the sources say its 2022. Now of course clubs are able to make bids for this January, but i highly doubt he would be willing to move so soon and in that case, Dortmund could also ask any price they want.

Considering they played such hardball with Sancho, i doubt they would let Haaland go for anything below 100 million

If Diallo takes off we might not even need him. Although it was a wow-factor idea to get Sancho it may well suit us to move for Upamecano as a priority anyway.

I really struggle to see, how one could ever justify spending 100 million on this kid. He's good, but not that good.

I'm not so keen on getting Sancho and adding to our inconsistencies. Rashford Martial James Sancho Greenwood is a lot of inconsistency in your attack. If we are getting a right winger it should be someone in their prime. Forgot Diallo and Pellistri too. We have enough high potential attackers

I was a huge 'sign him' advocate based on his stats and a few decent turnouts in an England jersey but I must say, I've yet to see him have a good game for Dortmund. Reminds me of Sergej Milinkovic-Savic in the sense that there was a lot of hype and massive sums being bandied about but yet to see him have an eye-opening game for Lazio.

Agree with above posts though, looked like his head wasn't in it today.

The media would have eaten him alive if we had got him and he started the season like that.

His contract is until 2022, isn't it? With the current situation I can see Dortmund trying to stick to a ridiculous evaluation no one would pay and Bayern, Liverpool or the Spanish clubs trying to convince him next summer and eventually get him on a free.

He seems to want to come back to England
If anything this helps our negotiation. Hes not exactly wowing everyone who couldn't afford 100m last year.

They should've snapped our hand off when we showed our interest and were prepared to pay a very reasonable fee given the current Covid financial climate.

Instead they tried to play Billy Big Bollocks and showed an arrogance and pig-headedness that is unbefitting of the B club in the Bundesliga.

Now he is unsettled and I doubt they'll manage to get anywhere near what they were ridiculously demanding for him. Serves them right for being so greedy.

Or maybe just going through a dip in form like any other player does, especially a young one. He still worked hard off the ball.

I really think that we should get Ousamane Dembele in Jan on loan. Play 4 3 3, instead of stupid diamond and then get him for 60 million next season (because that's what I believe his true value is)

Speak for yourself. He plays for Dortmund, they're always on tv, if people had honestly not seen much of him thats their own ignorance. I know what I saw and daddy still wants wants.

Was never consistent enough to be viewed as a 100 mil player.

Had games in the CL and for England where his performance was average even when his head 'was clearly at his club's.

I still want him here because he is a young hyped up English player but I dont think he is the player who sorts out our problems at RW either.

For 60-70 million he can come by making life hard for Dortmund fans and CEO's. If not he can stay.

You want him here because he’s hyped up and won’t sort out our RW problem.

He is worth the money (potential wise), he's just playing like a player that doesn't want to be at his current club anymore

Yeah what I want shouldnt determine what the club does. I'm just a fan.

I never saw him as a 100 million pound player. I felt that price was directly targeted at British clubs for a young british player who was doing well in a foreign league.

I dont see a club like Barcelona or Real Madrid buying him for 80 million even if they had the money because of his lack of consistency out of the Bundesliga.

If the price comes down then buy him with the hope he improves but buying him as some player that's consistent already - not for me.
