Very poor subs. Frustrating to watch Pogba come on and show zero aggression as normal. Moving Bruno out the right? Look a draw is ok but you would hope we are better than that. We have a fully fit squad now and we were set up to counter at home. Not great.

With Rashford up top, United only had Bruno to create something really. I hate it when I see Fred and McT starting together, they are solid but don't do much offensively.

Had United decent wingers or fullbacks that can actually cross, that pairing could have worked.

Why Ole is smiling at Frank at full timr baffles me.

You play a weak side at home against a team that's been shaky in the premier league.

Regardless of the draw we sit 15th in thr league. 1/9 home points.

Not happy.

It's funny how we don't mind playing Mata at RW for years tucking in, yet somehow it's absolutely impossible to play VdB at LW and do the exact same role as Mata on the other side. Just feck off, seriously. Can't find VdB minutes even when he's been very good in what little time he's been given. Piss take. Ole is about as tactically flexible as Sam Allardyce.

Dire game. Both teams played poorly; there was no real quality in attack from either side. Very conservative from both teams, and both look very much beatable.

Played at a very slow place and neither team looked to up the tempo.

Selecting James was a strange one; having no Telles on the bench; no Van de Beek is also odd when neither team could get a hold of the midfield. 51% to 49%

No proper chances created. Rashford chance at the end was the best, but all of our shots came from outside the box.

Lucked out with VAR over the penalty decision against Maguire.

Pretty lame overall.

1. Ole started with James, that is like playing with 10
2. He had to replace him (obviously), that is wasting one tactical sub

Repeat and rinse match after match.

Same shit, different day. Wasting 2 hours of my Saturday not to be entertained but to acquire more negative feelings in this already negative world.

Because maybe he has a good rapport with Lampard.

This one is entirely on Ole.

Shocking starting selection, shocking in game management.

Don't know where to begin really. He does himself no favours with games like this.

And what the feck is going on with VDB????

Had to listen on talksport. Didn't realise it was a Chelsea station.
That prick materface spent the entire game moaning that Chelsea never got a penalty and jizzing his pants whenever they made a pass.
Other than that I've no idea what happened.

:boring:

Same old issues, small club comes to OT and parks the bus and we can't break them down

Hehe

Pretty bland and boring game. Kind of questioning why Ole didn’t play some play some players who were on the bench until the final 10

I thought it was a well played match by two teams that are in a transition phase and doing it while maintaining touch with the top of the table. I'm sure both desperately wanted the 3 points, but there is nothing either team should hang their head about that performance.

Bloody hell some overreaction on here, it was a draw, and I can't see what much more that could have been done! Chelsea came for a clean sheet, they didn't threaten anything be from set pieces.
This was a tricky game as Chelsea have changed the system to prior games, ok we could have maybe done more but there keeper made 2 saves the others may well have not. That's football sometimes.

Disappointing as we were the better team in general. But better of 2 bad teams i guess. I think Ole made a mistake starting james. What has he done to deserve a start? Would’ve started rashford on the lest with cavani as a striker. Also, we need to understand what was Van De Beek bought for?

a point at home against any team is a bad result. We are manchester united.

Got the subs wrong today. Had a good basis to go on and win the game and we didn't do much with it.
So you would have brought on someone else than the three we did? The subs were fine to me, the issue was starting James and Mata when one should never be in any starting XI and the other is not suited for a game like this. As a result we also end up with Rashford getting on the end of our best chances when he’s probably our 4th or 5th best finisher at the club.

This game was crying out for having Telles on the left to provide a wide threat and allowing Rashford to play more inside. The lack of threat from our fullbacks is evident in this game when Chelsea can just defend compactly and is daring Shaw and AWB to do something

I think this is one of the first times anyone can accuse ole of not setting out to win. Tonight was clearly set up not to lose. It’s not the end of the world at all considering last 2 games at OT
You can set up not to lose without playing Dan James.

Wish James didn't start. Wish Telles wasn't hurt. Shaw is good, but does he put crosses in? I wasn't watching the first half.

Cavani should have been on at HT for James.

Thought Mata was unlucky to come off. I'd have taken Fred off that point.

Hopefully it's not long until Telles replaces Shaw at LB.

Ole still needs to find best combo in midfield to play alongside Bruno. I wouldn't mind seeing VDB play midweek and let Bruno get his feet up.

We were the better team, but it really felt like a game (in the pouring rain), that neither team wanted to play. I honestly feel really confident about this team going forward, because even when we’re not at our best (and today we were nowhere near), we can still look dangerous. Not every game is going to be a blockbuster, this was one of those that just never really got going. It’s ok.

An absolute borefest from both sides. I can see why the team selection was made with McTominay/Fred playing well and Martial's suspension with Greenwood and Cavani not being fit but neither team showed enough to win today.

Lindelof and Fred were probably the standouts for us with James providing absolutely nothing again.

Players fist pumped, laughing, and hugging each other after a Draw at home game against rival.

And manager looked happy with the home Draw also.

Am I the only one that kinda pissed off seeing this?
Not at all. I’m just as annnoyed

I see everyone on Reddit claiming that we were clearly the better team and the keeper was MOTM etc like we were robbed, I just don't see it.

We played it cautious and even cowardly against a team with a shit defence, whilst leaving some of our “best” players on the bench. We managed a few shots and had some better possession but ultimately a lack of invention and creativity from a Utd team should not be readily accepted like this. I'm ok with McFredinay, but at least play your best attackers around them.

On the flip side, the defenders are playing well again, good to see.

Agreed. Yes, it's another home game without a win. but a draw against Chelsea (in a game where we were comfortable) leaves me much happier than a defeat to Palace and a hammering to Spurs. It was better today, but we still need a lot of improvement.

Matterface is a self confessed Chelsea fan. In other news Chelsea fans, whats it like to have Jose back at the Bridge?

One of those stalemate games where both managers set out not to lose and hope to snatch something through a moment of class or a mistake by the opposition. Both teams also managed to as well, with us making being more deserving by the end.

 Not that I'm a Pogba supporter, but yeah he really will get match fit sitting on the bench every game....
He is getting there. We are not going to give play time to someone to just get match fit when we have players like McTom and Fred that are fighting to play. Slow and steady he will be in the first 11 before to long.

Boring game. James should have never started. Might as well start with vDB there. Was really hoping for Telles and Cavani combination. Goals guaranteed against Chelsea... I thought.

Stayed up till 2 am and for what. I'm off to :boring:
He's really done a poor job in ingratiating the signing with fans. VDB, for example, I'm not even sure what our plans are for him. We've seen glimpses of strength in his game, but not really been able to enjoy any performance from him yet. Somehow, it feels like our squad is in transition again, the xi we used to end last season has been tarnished and hasn't been replaced. The big games coming thick and fast doesn't help either, as I still feel Ole is trying to figure out how to best use the squad tactically after the spurs debacle.
