Oh yes, he did an accidental slip or something (sentiments of Ancellotti). I am well up for the FA awarding you five penalties against them when you meet. Put these thugs right back in their boxes.
He's a player who is rather thuggish when things aren't going his way

It was an awful tackle. Just lucky the outcome was worse.
I agree but if we look at the % of awful tackles to serious outcome, then there are higher % of 'nearly' outcomes. Slo mo, constant replays make them a whole lot worse. The athleticism of players these days means their reactive speed 'usually,' gets them out of serious trouble. Then there are really brutal challenges like the one Moreno did on Luke Shaw

Yes. Still can't believe he didn't get sent off for that one on Luke, yet stays on, scores and gets MOTM.

Is the late game today the one that would have not been televised/PPV if there was crowds allowed?

Why isn't it on at 3pm, like they normally do with non-televised games on a sunday?

They do 3pm kick offs on a Saturday not a Sunday.
Maybe it’s because Arsenal played Europa League on Thursday and couldn’t play Saturday.

You’d think it would be televised as it’s Leicester v Arsenal and instead we get Wolves v Newcastle.

The League is just putting matches on a prime time viewing I think to maximise revenue.

The often have a 3pm Sunday, non-televised game. I can't remember a Sunday game after 7pm being a thing.

The whole point of the PPVs was supposed to be a replacement for non-televised games (as fans can't attend). Them shoving it to a more TV friendly time-slot shows it for what it really is, a cash grab with a view to normalising football on PPV.

Can’t say I’ve ever noticed 3pm kick off on a Sunday, not saying you’re wrong just never noticed.

Yes, definitely a cash grab you could see that with the Friday Night game no reason to be on PPV at all.

It’s more worrying that they’re putting the better games on PPV and leaving us with shite to watch..

yeah. Wouldn’t be like Mane or Robertson to kick out at anyone for no reason would it.

The sweetest thing about that Pickford tackle is that leading upto the derby my social media feed was full of photos of Gerrards tackle on Naismith and Kuyts tackle on Neville all captioned with something like 'let's get in to these'. That went well.

I found it rather amusing that VVD had been stuck into Rodriguez a few times prior to getting wiped out by Pickford, karma at its finest.

Yep, we tried taking your namesake's crown but maybe we should just stick to what we know (the football, winning, etc) and leave the usual stuff to the blue half. There's another thread for James, showing what a great player he is. I'll be keeping my eyes on that thread for updates for sure.

VVD is just very physical but not dirty. Pickford was just just plain reckless. Any hopefully Fabinho does a decent job after all he did look a bit shaky last night. I just want a chance at the end even though it would be against all odds.

I get the feeling Mertens might consider VVD to be a little reckless at times.

Open game so far, more goals in this one.

I assume Southampton have learnt not to park their defence on the halfway line so they don't have a Spurs style second half collapse.

Good example of a team exposing inexperienced player playing out of position, Everton badly missed Coleman today.

Christ I hate using Blur as goal music - probably because I’ve heard them do it at Anfield, but it’s still cringe.

Seriously Southampton look insanely good on the ball. Passing and movement and playing out from the back really impressive so far.

Godfrey definitely isn’t a RB. As expected when we are hit with injuries/suspensions to our first XI we will struggle.
