“So here’s what we have to do,” Meadows responded. “We are not going to control the pandemic. We are going to control the fact that we get vaccines, therapeutics and other mitigations…”

“Why aren’t we going to get control of the pandemic?” Tapper asked.

“Because it is a contagious virus just like the flu,” Meadows said.

“But why not make efforts to contain it?” Tapper asked.

“We are making efforts to contain it” said Meadows.

There better be a fecking biden ad getting made that plays this in every state. There are third world countries lacking even basic sanitary services that have a better government response than this.

If Trump wins, this is bound to happen
*Conspiracy time*

If Trump wins - is there anything at all that could stop him from fecking off Mike Pence in his last year as POTUS, appoint Jr or Ivanka as VP and then step down before the next election to anoint one of them?

Trump cannot fire Pence considering that Pence is elected too. Of course, he might convince Pence to leave, but appointing a new VP requires the senate to vote for the new VP. And the senate is gonna be controlled from Dems if not in this election, then in 2022.

Leaving VP slot open is very dangerous, cause then if something happens to Trump, you have President Pelosi. So I do not see this conspiracy going to happen. Of course there is no need for it to happen, Pence can finish his VP mandate and still lose in 2024 primaries. In fact, considering that he has the charisma of a lemon, I cannot ever see him running for president.

I don't think Don Jr quite resonates with anybody but the Trumpers, he isn't anything like Donny boy and he'll be doomed
Exactly. He may end up running at some point, but he doesn't have the same kind of broad appeal that Trump does. Same thing goes for Ivanka. She is polished and works well in the supporting cast, but has the personality a corpse.

Thankfully Trump JR has zero charisma so the chances of him being elected is zip.
You would think so, but if they re-elect his father after all the shit he's said and done, I certainly wouldn't put it past them to vote for Jr in four years.

Judging by the early voting numbers , the only way he can get "elected" is if they steal the election. What would transpire in such a scenario is unclear , but Little Sniffy would be the least of everyone's problems.

"So, what do you think qualifies you for the position of POTUS?"

"Someone made a sign."

Trump may want it. But the Republicans hate the idea. It means spending money on things that help and matter to the people.
I never understand this. Government spending projects must be so lucrative. I’d have expected this to be right in their lane.

Imagine how big a weapon The Lincoln Project will be if they back a respectable GOP candidate next time around.
Will there be a Democrat administration that is as incompetent, shitty and outright liars as this one though? They have so much low hanging fruit it makes it easy this cycle.

Yup. Love what they are doing this cycle, but we all know that they are gonna be public enemy Nr. 1 next time around when GOP have a semi-normal candidate.

Especially now they’ve gained a reputation as a legitimate source thanks to their anti-Trump work.

Like their Randian Hero Mitt Romney
Ill be honest, I’ve got a lot of time for Conservative people. I don’t endorse Conservative views on many issues, but I get them as a people.

If every single person had a vote registered based on a questionnaire, you’d have the same percentage of Conservative votes in most social and ethic classes.

Family first, often religious, wants the best for everyone, believes in Fairness.

The corruption of Conservatism is the root cause of America’s problems tbh.

I'm pretty sure that when people fill in questionnaires that determine what side of the political spectrum they most identify with, the majority of them come out far more liberal than they consider themselves.

Also "wants the best for everyone" and Conservatism? Does not compute. They want what is best for their immediate family and relations(regardless of their standing in life), and that's basically it.

I’m not aware of this version of conservatism you speak of.

Are you serious? You guys can’t be that far gone.

Conservative people are just that. Conservative.

Every single uncorrupted Conservative person I know is someone most liberals would love.

The problematic no mans land is built by media. Conservative voters are easy to understand. “I support your right to be happy if it doesn’t infringe on my happiness”.

The culture wars suggest that progressive politics will do that. They obviously won’t.

Conservatives shrink their lives as they fear the unknown. When they are healthily introduced to a little newness, they’re pretty cool with it. They will adopt progressive policy if it can fit within their current world view. Too much, too quickly, forced.... They push back.

Different people. That’s it really.

Sure. The problem is that in the US everything is shifted to the right to such a ridiculous degree, that 'moderates' (like McCain, Kasich, Bush, Romney) are to the right of European extremists like Le Pen or Salvini.

Conservatism is okay. Angela Merkel is a conservative politician (center-right) and she is the best European leader in a while.

I do get that.

The demonisation and criticism of Conservative values doesn’t pull them left though.

Their life raft is the right. They drift right.

People need to understand that.
