I've got a plugin for Chome, stops you accidentally clicking any Daily Mail crap as well. Not newspapers either of them. It's well worth not clicking or retweeting. It's a numbers game for them. Don't encourage their crap. It's Murdoch & co giving the population its orders.

Don’t know how true this is as it’s the Sun but big if true
What a load of horseshit.

If Pogba does decide to take legal action, how quickly could this end up in a courtroom? Do the gears of the law grind slowly in England in this regard or are the skids somewhat greased?

Going by other celebrities taking newspapers to court it usually is a year or two after the event you hear that they have won, but I have no idea really how long it takes..

It's ridiculous how The Sun can get away with so much tripe.

Just look at some of comments here when it was first reported - they've got a large audience for it, they know there are enough people just chomping at the bit.

His legal team will probably first demand they print a retraction (basically cease and desist).

If The Sun doesn't do that, then you get into court battles, but this will largely depend on how well Pogba's legal team does in their cease and desist letter. The Sun will decide whether the clicks are worth more than their legal risk exposure.

Many "closeted" Islamophobe around here. I had suspected it but Stupid me, it took me that long to make the full connection . All the hate towards him has never made sense. Just "fans' and pundits like Souness, hiding their true feelings(islamophobia).

I'd be really sad if that were true but I don't believe it is.

We've had muslim players here and in the league for years. I'd love for Pogba to shut people up with his performances but he's inconsistent and that elicits a lot of criticism and some of it is way over the top. There's bound to be an element of racism involved just as there is with Rashford,Sterling and others. Irrational hate isn't just reserved for Pogba. Ronaldo used to get loads of it for being...err Ronaldo.

You’re are blaming Islamophobia now on the reason people had lost patience with Pogba?
I think it’s more to do with his performances and attitude more than anything else.
I am seriously starting to think you’re a WUM..

It would be naive to pretend that this is a HATE FREE zone in here....got to be a reason why we get reminded everyday about the fight against Racism.
So yeah, Keep pretending that it is just about his performances.

I have always defended Pogba here in this thread but come on, hate against Pogba isn't Islamophobia or Racism.

Salah does his prayers everytime he scores I don’t ever see anyone getting on his back about anything, except maybe being greedy.

True, there is racism there is no getting away from that and maybe some have a motive but I don’t think the majority do.

All players get criticized, all of them. With Paul, it has always been different. Why has the hate been so strong? With some of the pundits, it has always been different.
The man was Europa League player of the year the year we won it. He should get a little bit more respect. He was injured most of last year and was still inexplicably getting criticised.
The man has been a total role model, does not drink. He just dances.
People are just ready to jump at anything perceived negative with. After a while, one has to tell him or herself...Maybe it is just deeper.

I didnt say nor see MAJORITY mentioned anywhere until you have mentioned. It is not a Hate Freezone! There has always been something deeper with Paul Pogba.
a Europa League Player of the year (the year we won it) should give someone a little bit more respect. Last season he almost missed the entire season. And prior to that he led the team as a 10 that made OGS full-time manager. Something much deeper with him.

People's characters have been exposed with all the social movements throughout 2020. It would be naive to say that all Manchester United fans are HATE-FREE.

has to be reason why players have been kneeling before every game?
HATRED
Again, not the same reason.

People have many many reasons to go after Pogba: the under performances relative to the fee paid, the whole Madrid thing, his agent, him being a person of color and Islamophobic is also a possibility. To pinpoint like you did here is no way to make a good "connection", correlation and causation of people's action and attitude towards him. For the example you gave here, hypothetically speaking, Souness may just be a form of racism and has nothing to do with Islamophobia and there is no data to suggest it does.

Like some other posters have stated, to conclude what you did, Souness needs to express this same hatred across most Islamic players and not just Pogba.

I'd suggest. Firstly, the high expectation and the actual inconsistency. Secondly, the perceived arrogance which I believe is mistaken. He plays at his own pace and sometimes that appears casual. Next, his brand. People get hung up on it and again that is seen as him being self obsessed and preoccupied with Instagram and other social media. I get that a lot of Utd fans would rather he delivered and had a profile like KDB but they are 2 different players. Pundits want him to dominate games like the world class talent he possesses but I agree some like Souness give him a harder ride than others.

If there's elements of racism then that is something that has been growing generally in society and not limited to Pogba. People will resort to that because they are the ones with a problem to begin with.
PS: There have been other tee total footballers; Beckham being the most notable one so that's never going to be an issue

For the record, do you think Souness would ever go after Mane and Salah? Doubt it. He sees them as the role model pros he admires. Play the game brilliantly, work hard, deliver and go home to their families while staying off social media

Just to be clear, and I haven't quoted all your posts, do you suspect that the dialogue surrounding Pogba has been tainted by racism and Islamophobia in society in general or on Redcafe?

This is not a HATE-FREE Zone. For example there are Trump supporters around here (Mr Muslim ban himself - ). There are plenty of Manchester United fans that support Trump around here.
We can still pretend that it is all about his performances. That there is nothing deeper than that. Sure. Cheers.

In both. Not doubt in my mind. One Example, Like I have just stated there are Trump (Mr Muslim Ban himself)supporters at CAfe . If one can support such hate then it is safe to say that some opinions on Redcafe could be tainted by racism and Islamophobia.

I'm not sure Pogba is hated for his religion, but he's hated for his lifestyle.

The dancing, hair cuts and social media activity made him a big target, similarly to Sterling when he was younger.

Add in the ABU press bias, then the fall out with Mourinho and him calling him a virus publicly, his reputation with some never recovered.

Yes he's not been his best this past year, but even when he was our top scorer and assister people still pelted him with the same shite, it's tiresome.

So we're going on the law of averages. I think you would be far better picking comments that you think seem racist or islamophobic and calling them out. They're big terms to be throwing around and while a fair proportion of us are undoubtedly arseholes, I think it's only fair to avoid firing terms like that around until there's actually some evidence.

all peaches&cream, like Trump Supporters are full of love.
We all love each other on this planet. Players have been kneeling because Racism and Hate have just started in 2020.
Where have I said that?

Other posters have provided you with plenty of examples as to why Pogba faces criticism.

You've responded with 2017 Europa League player of the Tournament and Islamophobia (with no evidence).

The onus to prove your hypothesis rests squarely on your shoulders. It requires evidence, not general statements. Do that, or feck off with your bullshit.

What lifestyle? he just dances and goes on vacation to the US like every other players.. Hair cuts? what does that even mean? I doubt any black man around here mind the haircuts.
Point me to one negative thing he has ever done on his social media, "outside of dabbing" too many times?
Maguire does a madness in Greece and it is crickets now. Paul is Like LeBron James they have been the PERFECT ROLE MODEL. No drinking. Devoted to his religion. Married man with one kid.
In the past year, he has been injured and came back this season with Covid. Mou wanted to get fired, Paul took over the team right after Mou's departure and his performances turned OGS as full-time manager (until Paris)
Had Paul done that madness in Greece?! just imagine!

That was my point, but for some reason it’s a big issue. People always say his hair is stupid or why is he getting his hair dyed when he’s playing badly etc

When he was in Italy, he was a bit of a golden boy.

Since he's been here, he's endured nothing but criticism almost all the time. By the media, by fans(directly), by former players and from his own manager in Mourinho. Some even claimed he faked his injury. There was even criticism for attending his brother's fecking wedding.

Mentally, that must be very difficult to see that someone has always got something negative to say about you, on a constant basis.

Granted, many came to his defense but it has been rather irregular.

In this regard, I think fans failed Paul Pogba as a Manchester United player. Everyone jumped on the media bandwagon and have been on it ever since.

Not that he's without criticism but not to the levels he's endured ffs. And throughout he's stood and faced it.

While he's had an inconsistent time here, his position honestly has not been helped at all.

There are many reasons for Pogba's dislike among United fans that had nothing to do with Islamophobia and not much to do with his performances either.
