I like him as a wingback with a back 3 behind him. Lovely delivery from wide areas and corners of course.
He is also very aggressive in his play and in the right set up can be a nightmare to play against that high up the pitch. I'm all for it. Winning the ball back high up the pitch and cross behind the defence to any of Rashford, Martial and Greenwood running behind is such a dangerous trick.

Do think it was funny that a few times he was in position and went to shape for a cross then didn’t because there was only Martial in the box. think like others have suggested with Rashford or Martial for him to work it’s probably going to be us winning the ball back high and him whipping a ball inbehind the defence for Martial or Rashford to use their pace to get on to other than aerial ability.

To be fair to Martial as well, there were a few occasions where it just looked like he said, “oooh feck he can cross, I must make the move” then you’d see him trying to scramble and fight the Cb’s to get in a position to recieve the cross.

Blackpool
Yes! Thank you. I think we had a great comeback there once, from 2-0 down to 3-2 winners. With Berba scoring a great goal.

Sorry for the memory problems. Too lazy to look things up

He said it when Liverpool were linked with Charlie Adam in Jan window, we played Blackpool and we beat them 3-2.

Were the two goals they scored from his corners? I remember them being very dangerous, and can't wait for Telles to start delivering them up on a platter for our big lads.

And by the way, I hated Charlie Adam. He was a nasty fecker who I swear would try to injure people.

I think Cathcart scored from corner.

Will be our shrewdest signing in years and add much more balance to the side along with experience.

The type of smart signing I don't think we've made enough of lately.

LVG's notebook

I think we're finally sorted at LB boys.

I also liked how he combined with Shaw at LCB and he needs to make corner duty his own.

No fullbacks on the bench. Shaw won’t make it through this game. Boy was cramping up 70mins into the last one...

Ahead of who on the bench? Once we went to 4 at the back it was between him and shaw to start and shaw is in good form.
Like feck he is. Had one half decent game at left back against a blunt Newcastle since he was an abomination against Spurs.

Was much better than Telles against PSG who was very average on the ball.

Hoped he would play because that delivery would have caused Chelsea's iffy defence problems

He wasn’t average, he created 3 chances for us the most in the game along with Pogba.
He was good on set pieces, didn't do any thing elses that warrants starting instead of Shaw who was our best passer in the game.

He looked more creative in 1 game than Shaw has in 4 years.
Yeah and now looks to have picked up a bloody injury against PSG,must have flared up since Ole's presser yesterday because no mention of it

Telles may become our starting left back by default. Shaw was once again a non-entity in attack.

I have decided he's key for success this season. Shaw really is all out pure defender, he was never coached to attack so that's like playing Jones on right back.

We absolutely need at least one fullback to be able to contribute offensively. Hope Telles gets back to fitness quick because we need to change things badly.

I pray he turns out to be a good player, especially as we've neglected wide areas again in transfer window.

Has to start vs Leipzig.

The clip of Bruno urging Shaw to overlap and Shaw sitting lazily sums him up.

Not in the matchday squad once again it seems...

That cameo against PSG is turning out to be such a tease

Is he injured? Not in the squad for the Chelsea game and not seen any sight of him in training. Seems strange there’s been absolutely no info on his absence.

I don't think it's that strange, Solskjaer tends to be coy on our injury situation for whatever reason.

Apart from VVD and Mane, there’s not really anyone in Liverpool’s side to suggest that they have aerial presence or players who will destroy you in the air. Shows how important the actual quality of crosses are. You can have all the size, but it doesn’t really matter if you can’t put the ball in the box correctly.

From his PSG cameo, Telles looked like he had quality in his delivery similar to Alexander-Arnold and Robertson. Hopefully we see more of it.
