Of course I can. I saw this last season as well. Upamecano has poor awareness of players running in behind him and I was not surprised that’s how we scored.
Good for you. No one else thinks that he had any blame whatsoever in that goal. Sometimes opposition players just do good things. In this case we were lucky to get away with it because it looked offside anyway.

There was only one more foul in the entirity of our game vs PSG then there has been just in this one half of football

This would be absolutely thrilling if it was a whistle blowing contest.

As a football match it's been diabolical with all the stopping and starting again.

    Ref with MOTM so far.

Easy to forget we are playing at home, the way RB Leipzig is playing.

Still impressed by the quality of our players. DVDB is class is tight spaces, Pogba shows glimpses why he is a world class talent, Greenwood is a lethal finisher, Fred is combative and robust, and our defense seems very solid.

I can not see the argument towards why this team can’t win the league or champions league this season with a proper coach. Worse team have won it.

We set up to nullify them and we are doing that well. This looks like a textbook Jose CL performance when he was good.

Fred's passing has been awful, but he's good at breaking up the play.
    Shaw has been atrocious.

Pogba has been very good and Greenwood has made good runs.
Van De Beek struggling to get into the game.

Our defenders release the ball so slowly that it's easy to press us off the ball, or Maguire just kicks it long.

At home, needs to be better than this.

Our attack has been non existent. Martial has been shite with the few touches he has had. Greenwood classy as usual and thank God he finished that chance because it looks like our chances will be few and far between. Pogba has also been very good. Van De Beek besides a few good touches has been quiet. Our defence and Fred/Matic in front of them have actually been very good defensively but awful going forward. They're struggling to beat the press.
Yeah I'm not keen to bury Martial, Donny and Greenwood for not producing more considering the problems the press is causing us a bit further back. Passes are constantly going off target so there is little for the front players to work with.

We'll see it how it goes in the second half but it may be we just have to batten down the hatches, stay strong in our defensive shape and grind out a win, taking as many cheap fouls as this ref is willing to hand out.

God, the matchday thread really attracts them, doesn't it? Wan Bissaka doing an important job. They are a good team, great movement, etc. Yes, lack of subtlety apparent, lack of the killer ball (except for PP assist), good to see them working Leipzig earlier on. Need to keep up the energy in the second half.
Yeah. I’ve only dipped in here once or twice tonight. It’s a decent performance so far. Got the ball and we’ve given very little away:

What's with the hate for Fred?

He was in demon mode for the first half hour and won the ball for our goal.

He has some sloppy moments but has slow matic and a terrible passing backline in support.

Aaah I see, you’re setting the narrative that we’re only ahead because of the quality of our players to not give our manager credit.

And Matic is like a 60 y.o. Riquelme playing in DM.
This is such a huge area that needs looking at for the future. We need a player who plays just as well in this position as Fernandes plays in his. Somebody who is mobile and can shield the defence, but can also link up the defence with the rest of the midfield. They 100% have to be comfortable on the ball and passing.

VDB is amazing in tight spaces! Martial needs to do a bit more I think.

Decent enough half, but haven't done much since we got the goal.

We need to try and keep the ball better and peg Leipzig back. If we continue to let them have the ball, then you'd expect them to create chances.

At least we don't immediately lose it. But agree we're really struggling as usual.

    Reminds of Southampton last season.
Mostly because Pogba comes and bails him out when Shaw inevitably turns back towards his own goal.

Not a bad half that was. Happy enough with it. Goal was very impressive. Fantastic pass by Pogba and just a perfect finish from Greenwood. Great to see him off the mark for the season. Would be great to get a second goal soon into the second half.

Jesus Christ. Can’t give the ball away if you dont get it. Go back to bed.
He doesn’t get it because his teammates are incapable of passing it to him. He will be one of the highest rated players in our team after this game. Now go away. Putting you on ignore because you don’t know your arse from your elbow.

We’re well organised and Greenwood took his goal very well. Let’s keep it up.

Tbh imo VDB has been pretty anonymous. His job is to bring the ball forward and create chances, not to do that many back passes.

AWB quic developing into one of the best RBs in world football.

    Certainly the best defensively.
WanB has been outstanding first half. One of the finest 45 minutes of defending I’ve seen from a full back for a long time

I would think, Cavani and McTominay for Martial and Matic would make sense at half time

My brother made that point, the PSG ref was great at letting the game flow whereas this guy is a stickler. It doesn't suit the football match in terms of quality but I suppose it does suit the team who've nicked a lead.

Massive drop in quality vs Bruno I’d we are honest. But it’s his first few games so not surprising

You aren’t watching the same game? Rb Leipzig has controlled the game. No narrative I m setting. I bet if that same chance Greenwood scored fell to Leipzig, they miss it. That is the difference

It was. Once again a lot of people don't enjoy United unless they win 4-0 and the other team have no efforts on our goal.

Think that was a really smart tactical performance and is currently going to the intended game plan.

And look at what we can bring on later in the game to mix it up. Cavani, Bruno and Rashford. That's a lot of attacking talent
Yeah, very interesting/smart choice with pushing VDB through the middle and both of our forwards wide. It makes us pretty unpredictable, solves problem with our width from fullbacks and suit Pogba who is attacking from that left side channel in the midfield.

A bit sloppy in possession after the goal, so we will need to sort that out, but overall a very good half from us.
