I find it bizarre that, in a country with many of the brightest people in the world, their system led them to a choice between Trump and Biden.
They also have a huge army of stupid too.

It must be infuriating being an intellectual in the US, being constantly brought down along with the horde of MAGA idiots.

How is Don Jr. not banned from twitter for calling for all out civil war, while I got a permaban for tweeting to Trump to choke on a bag of dicks?

I find it incredible to see people still defending Trump. I'm not from the US, and I don't fall nearly in the framework of left vs right, as do most Singaporeans. But no one, not a single person that I met in Singapore can believe that someone like trump is president.

I was chit chatting with a security guard yesterday while doing some volunteer work. He is a man in his 50s, without much education. He brought up the topic of trump and his insinuation that the election is rigged. He questioned how can one claim an election is rigged when you are losing, and not when you are winning? It's obvious that trump simply is a sore loser, and the biggest cheater.

It's really so obvious

Its the same everywhere. Democracy everywhere will eventually be pulled down to the rule of the idiots.

When your post was just the first sentence I was going to request that you first post your own analysis.

Eeeegh. Second sentence. It's kind of looking like you might not understand even if I did reply.

But what the hell. Long story short, all the ones I know who voted for him are a varying combination of:

1. 'Biden's-not-that-different'
2. They're staunchly 'a baby can't defend itself'
3. Strong 'keep your beliefs to yourself and help people who are in need' types who feel aggrieved by a perceived thirty/forty-year assault on their morals/values.

Second question, none of them try to do any of that. Get a 'Trump supporter' in private and talk to them long enough, they'll agree with you he's immoral. The fact that you brought it up is kind of weird: surely you know that not all 'Trump supporters' are cookie-cutter evangelicals frothing at the mouth? Also, you do know the average Bible-thumper doesn't really know 'their' Bible, right?

AKA put that all together and it's the usual 'I'm not voting for him, I'm voting against the other guy'. Their voting their issues, not for Trump.

You could probably get a job at one of the polling places if you wanted.
I get the first two, albeit it can't be disregarded that they hold two opposing views of his economic policy simultaneously, in a way that surely can't be explained.

Someone on the left like @Eboue would make a similar claim that Biden's not going to make a difference for the working class, and while it's a debatable point, it's not hard to see how Trump supporters could co-opt the same criticism. But that can't be true while also fearing his "socialist" economic position. And yet we know many people will make both arguments just a few seconds apart. So at least one of those criticisms is not true, and not truly believed by those who say it. It's just a rhetorical weapon rather than honest an explanation of their position.

What does the 3rd one mean? Sounds a bit esoteric.

He wrote a long post on it before, ‘my taxes got lowered’ was on there.
My taxes went down slightly but the increase in my health care and the elimination of very reasonable tax deductions for ordinary people like myself and my wife made that tax deduction irrelevant.

Dems should create thousands of blue MAGA baseball caps. And have anti Trump fans chant MAGA outside court offices. Make Asshat Go Away!

yeh but Biden got more there fore its not. biden will end up getting maybe 5 million plus more than trump.
CA is 77% reporting with 12.4m votes, he’ll get 1.5-2m out of that easily.

Probably close to 6-7m by the end. And yet again, probably 200k ish votes in 3 states could’ve meant all that is for naught.

Their system is broken,

this election hasn't been a massive rejection of Trumpism

Biden has got a lot of work in "healing the nation"
Well, he is only the 4th US President ever to be impeached. And only the 11th president to be kicked out before a 2nd term.

And he is the only president to have been both impeached and kicked out after one term. History will record that as a unique rejection, leaving his legacy in the toilet.

There's a reason you didn't know he had a speech disorder, and a reason why you chose to focus on the consequences of that speech disorder. It didn't come from a good place. Rather than doubling down on it, in denial of the facts you yourself admit you didn't even have a basic grasp of, why not just step away from the comments and admit you made a mistake?

Joe Biden has a speech disorder. It is an active battle every day to overcome that, and through years of speech therapy he's able to do so most days. It's not "for whatever reason". In moments of weakness he loses that battle. As he gets older he will have more of those moments of weakness. You didn't know he had the speech disorder, nor that he's provided examples of it throughout his lifetime, nor do you even know the basic symptoms of the speech disorder and how they can be managed. Doubling down only makes it worse.
The only mentions online are from about a year ago when people were questioning his cognitive ability.

It says he revealed he had a speech disorder that he’s been battling all his life. Surely it would be common knowledge that someone who’s been in public life for decades had such a speech disorder.

It’s clearly a ruse to try and deflect from his cognitive decline.

I covered that in the “it’s a combination of...” I didn’t say it was all or nothing, it’s a checklist that all will fall under. Look at it again, and you’ll see the ones applying to Mr. Architect.
Sorry. I don' see any that would qualify him as ignorant. Not wanting sex and murder beamed into his kids' bedrooms?

Yes, right along with “Biden is a socialist”. They need to make up their mind - is he harmless and therefore no different than Trump, or is he trying to destroy capitalism?
Why's that being framed as an either/or. 'Trump voters' aren't a giant homogenous block. (Kind of like how Hispanics didn't turn out to be) Some of 'em see that Biden's not for the working guy. Some of 'em believe he's a commie bastard.

No, that’s literally how they’re convinced on the issue by the combination of politics with religious teachings. They ignore all of the “care for the poor” and only worry about making sure babies are born.
I'm starting to think you're surrounded by people who think this way and only discuss an issue on/around that level. Don' forget, you asked specifically about people I knew.

Sure, the general bulk of the median-intelligence-and-lower Trump voter might tend towards what you're describing. But again, these voters are not a giant hive-mind. This is an issue that people who've gone to Yale law could debate until the cows come home. There are plenty of smart 'trump supporters' who have their own reasons for being anti-abortion aside from the ones you've mentioned.

Again - the checklist isn’t “all or nothing”. You’re making an argument I didn’t make.
You know your arbitrary checklist doesn't cover all aspects of human behavior, right? Also I didn't make an argument. I asked whether you know 'conservatives' who still live 'the old way'. (Apologies; I'm assuming you know what I'm referring to there.) Go to church. Work hard. Need help? Just ask. Did you say something hurtful to that person? Bring my belt.

They are ignorant to the teachings of their faith. They support a man who is the direct antithesis of it. They support economic policies that fly in the face of the words of Jesus himself. Yet the seat themselves on a moral high ground because they believe in ending abortions. They’re ignorant.
1. That's your framing and opinion. It's true for perhaps the bottom of the intelligence totem, (btw, these folks never asked to be born 'dumb')
2. Again, the rest of the majority know he's 'un-Christian'. A lot of those people are voting 'against the other guy' in spite of all that shit and how slimy it makes them feel.

Also the religion angle is s bit moot. If one goes by 'the words of Jesus himself', there are close to no true Christians in the world, let alone in the US.

Yeah ok fair enough, but it's the internet, you can never be sure.

I agree on the fact that the, haha you're all stupid cnuts for voting for Trump isnt really helping, but being the bigger man is hard sometimes.
I'd argue it's virtually impossible now. There's a whole generation of kids now born into a snipe culture. But that's also why the older generation/leaders have to start now. That stuff plays into the the hands of the power-brokers.

Im sure lots of Trump voters think he's doing the lords work, which stems from their ignorance being exploited by Trump telling them what they want to hear.
It's tough but it's important for us on the other side to remember these are deeply wounded people. Half the reason the neo-cons/Trump can get their hooks into them so easily is because they've been 'losing' for the past thirty-forty years and now the other side is so derisive of them. It doesn't take a rocket surgeon to figure that's going to see even the most conservative of them - conservative as in the real definition - not exactly minding the hardliners taking a stand.

From a deductive questioning point of view I'd say not all Trump supporters are dumb hicks, but all dumb hicks are Trump supporters though.
I hope one day you come across a pickup truck driven by a man with a huge beard and a sleeveless flannel shirt who can barely hold a normal conversation... and who turns out to hate him.
