The Estonian far-right interior minister was forced to resign after comments on Sunday on how the elections were fixed, Biden a corrupt bastards and describing his dream of Trump walking through a valley covered with blood and guts after justice prevailed in the end. The Estonian PM realised it might be a good idea to get along with the US with us having a border with Russia. Was hoping for the whole government to resign tbh, but I'll take this as a start I suppose.
Fecking hell. You just can't reason with these people. They should be stuck into mice holes and never given a platform to speak again.

Constantly at the STD clinic.
Does anybody thinks that if the Dems didn't nominated Biden and went for a more progressive and left leaning candidate, they wouldn't be able to flip the swing states and lost the election?
With how much people still voting for Trump, I can't help feeling that someone like Bernie will turn off voters who's on the fence and either won't vote or vote for Trump
Bernie would have been lucky to keep virginia.

how embarrassing would it be to have him evicted from the White House?

i imagine all his possessions spread in the garden and one last bag flying through the door while he is sitting on the curve muttering "i won the election"
They will probably get him out through the Kennedy ' s hookers tunnels to avoid more embarrassment.

Televangelists aren't Christians in my opinion. They are simply trying to make vast amounts of money for themselves, using eternal salvation as the carrot. It's the antithesis of the Christian message.
The "prosperity gospel" is an actual thing among US Christians. I'm no believer or theological expert but I believe the New Testament contains a few passages on the matter; hard to imagine the Jesus described in those books to be particularly sympathetic to the idea, to say the least.

Well, I don't see the current Pope living a fancy lifestyle. He's still staying in the same boarding house in the Vatican that he moved into when he became Pope, because he considered the Papal apartments too luxurious. Televangelists are raising money for themselves, not for their churches/charity.

Catholics are not constantly exhorted to give money (although non-Catholics often think that we are), and priests receive a modest stipend.
The Vatican holds about $8B in assets. It's just as corrupt as any other.

Look at the replies.
The replies are astonishing. Trump may be going but the loonies are here to stay & have a platform to spread their nonsense. Incredible:houllier:

Listening to The Daily podcast from the New York Times right now. The section from Lauren, the Trump supporter, is both heart breaking (about her kids) and also scary.

You are joking of course?

It would be his ultimate accolade, all his followers would take up the messages on his behalf, it would be a massive game of 'Chinese whispers', 'martyrdom'...its just what he wants in exile... talk about the transfer of ignorance, it would be writ large.
Trump got caught in his own 'tweet-trap' even as President, people (other than his supporters) only read his baloney because he was President and it was perceived he could 'do things'; when he's on the outside looking in, he can prattle away all he likes, it will make no difference, just noise!
Twitter already hinted that once he's no longer president they can block his account for misconduct just like they do with regular users. Personally I think that's the right thing to do. He's just lost a US election and blames it on fraud that's more than enough material to build some sort of martyrdom conspiracy. Being blocked on Twitter pales in comparison to this, in the eyes of his followers he's already a martyr for a much bigger cause. But blocking him a) sends the message that the same rules apply to everyone and b) takes away his (unfiltered) reach.

Also, not punishing stuff like this because his followers might turn it against you is a weak argument, IMO. First, they'll always do that even with the slightest actions interpretable against him and second it effectively elevates this guy above the rules just because he's got a bunch of lunatics who get mad when they don't get their way. Be clear with your rules and consequent with their execution - simple.

Summarize, por favor.
Basically she has lost her business, her HS daughter is confined to room (no in person school) and no longer want's to go to college, and the family has crushing student loan debt. She sees people celebrating Biden as celebrating a fraud and she want's Trump to fight to the bitter end because she thinks he cares about her and will help get her out of this situation. You could hear the anguish, anger and panic in her voice.

If only there was someone who would like to help out with student debt...

Saddening and frightening as you stated. I imagine some of my family and friends have similar sentiments and see Trump as someone who cared for them. I spoke to two friends, both highly educated professionals, who were shouting fraud in our FB chat group. I was able to explain why the results in some states were changing and they seem to understand; another friend also brought up that if the Dems were stealing an election they'd have rigged the Senate races as well.

Dunno if they're still carrying on defending Trump outside our chat but I was able to reign in their attitudes for a brief moment. Shocking to me they're even supporters of his but I figure it's economically driven, albeit one is a devout religious man who makes well over 100K.

My best mates ex wife used to give 10% of her pre tax pay to her church as a tithe. She was on about £2500 a month before tax and she gave them £250 a month. My mate said all her family were doing it and the church were coining it in to the tune of nearly £2k a month from just her and her family alone. They’re told that it’s the “Christian thing to do” and “heaven awaits those who give willingly”

it’s a massive cult.
well, glad you said ex-wife! Unless she’s dead, although she won’t mind that clearly so...

It’s almost as if making everything antagonistic doesn’t really lead to good outcomes...

Not supporting either her or the guy, but if people could stop pretending that every single minute of every single day MATTERS that would be great.
