Aww FS that FME skin would have been cool if you didn't have to scroll down 6 feet to see everything.

Defending is still absolutely ridiculous. Players waiting on the opposition to receive the ball, then running to were the opposition WAS.

Got last years one having not played in years and really enjoyed it. Wasn’t going to get the new one. But I’m liking the reaction here.

might try CDKeys. Is it legit? Seems very cheap. If you get the beta on CD Keysyou automatically get the full release?

What is the game like excluding the match engine? I never watch the games and always set it to commentary only so the match engine means nothing to me.

Is it worth getting still? Are the none match engine improvements much better than FM20? Otherwise I might just stick with 20 and save my money.

Been like this for a few years now. United are always way more consistent than city, quite bizarre really.
It seems one of the data scouts for the PL is an United fan as he refers to the club as we.. just saw it on sigames. Anyway, not a big deal, i dont play Man United but feels more realistic having to beat Liverpool and City than United. Spurs (and Chelsea) on the other hand are a bit too underrated!

 in that case i'd stick to CM01/02 simply because it would be significantly faster!

I have FM all the way back to FM 2010 and have always set it to commentary only, extended highlights for cup finals and sometimes semi finals. It takes long enough to get through seasons, watching every game takes far too long.

You could answer the question of my post though if you like :)

Well the biggest improvement over FM20 seems to be the ME, which you don't care much about. The match UI, on the other hand, seems the most dividing change. It's quite different for now, but hopefully they will tweak it for the full release. It doesn't seem very intuitive and many are voicing their concerns.

Other than that there will be some minor issues that will need balancing such as the amount of corners, perhaps AI transfers are a bit wacky atm too and so on. I'd resist buying it as much as possible until the full release but I don't see much harm in getting it right now either and with the weekend almost here, I don't know! I wouldn't start a serious save now though.

Madness. How do you get any idea of how your team is playing?

Started my first proper save after messing about for a few days with the bigger teams. Although I've picked a fairly big side but there is a lot of work to do.

Sporting Lisbon.

Really excited to get them back to the top and I've actually never ever managed in Portugal so that was part of the draw. Good work permit rules also

Benfica and Porto, watch out!

Is there more pointless clicking? I miss the older FM’s where you didn’t have to go through so many pages to see something

Enjoying it so far but I haven't been able to commit much time to it yet. Hoping to get a few hours in over the weekend.

The score lines have been mental so far. City were beating Arsenal 2 nil at The Emirates then Pepe scored in the 82nd, 92nd and 95th minute to make it 3-2 Arsenal. Also, like others have said, Spurs are woeful.

Very happy with things so far, aside from getting absolutely shafted in the Europa by Rijeka.

You should get the the real names fix. Hate seeing FCP or SLB. Not sure if it’s changed but the Brazilian league don’t have real names either and it’s a bug bear for me

Not for the beta. I'm playing fully vanilla until release.

Good choice.

I usually pick Benfica as I really like their team and the amount of good youth they have, although this year I think the league will be a walk in the park with the squad they have.

In Portugal, I'm considering Boavista (interesting players like Angel Gomes, Adil Rami, Javi Garcia), or Vitoria Guimaraes (Quaresma, Marcus Edwards), just a shame that neither start in the Europa league, which would've made things a bit more interesting.

Boavista is always a good choice, even more so with the new and more ambitious owners. Good stadium, fanbase, city and were one of the very few league champions besides the big 3. Not an easy challenge though.

Sporting CP and Sporting Braga are also good choices. The former has the best academy in the country and has been like two decades without the title. Braga has almost no titles to its history but has the structure and the foundations to build something important.

What tactics are people running?

Seems like any custom tactic takes like 6 months to integrate. And if you are possession-oriented it will be impossible to get the team to press similar to a high/gegenpress, despite these two covering different phases of the game.

It's Nov 21st on my game and Cavani has three hat-tricks for me already. Martial still out injured since the second game of the season.

At the moment it almost feels too easy really. I know I'm Utd but still. Joint top with Liverpool at the min and have only lost one game all season (in the CL).

I agree about it feeling too easy. I’m 3rd with Everton after 20 games. Only 5 points from the top and 8 points clear of 4th.

Best game I've had so far in terms of the match engine. I was able to adjust things and actually see them coming off in real time. Feels like I can actually properly impact the match with changes now.

I made us play a lot wider and pushed Laird and Telles forward. It gave enough room for it to squeeze to Laird on the right for him to get his first goal and the winner.

Elanga is an absolute animal,
I have found that the match engine is massively improved, but the offside rule is broken massively, players not interfering in play getting called, suppose it's relatively realistic in that respect!
Have also found Rashford and Martial are insane too.

Yeah he is, I loaned him to Crawley I think and he scored 25 goals for them.

He's on loan at Bolton for me and has 7 goals in 12 games.

Have started him in my friendlies, he's scored two against Bayern, one against Watford. Gonna keep him I think.

18 months in on that save. I've been playing a different save recently though.

Pacey and great at dribbling, and can play on the right, what's not to love!!
Which team you playing with now?
