I'm renovating, so only a progress pic, expectation vs reality:
And temporary work desk whilst I build an office:

A bit bland but I didn't take out 16 Czechoslovakians singlehandedly by being an interior decorator.

Edit: I'm getting abuse on Imgur for posting that image? I only wanted to share it here. People are nasty.

Ya, imgur is fairly toxic! I used it to show my gamestop email saying I got guaranteed one at launch and for some reason I have loads of downvotes against it

Not finished yet. Need a soundbar to replace the soundbox that'll go in the middle. And no idea why that fan is still there

Don't think it's that bad, just expressed their discomfort (with exaggeration) with you putting that big tv in front of the window. Doubt the view is that bad? Some trees are there even. Wall on the right, all that setup wouldn't fit there? You'd hide the sockets too!

If he puts it on the right, where’s he gonna put the couch?

Good set up @Paxi. Ignore the dumbos on imgur.

I live in a two bed semi so I've not enough space to put a 55 inch TV anywhere where I'll be comfortable watching it. Last thing I want to do is look out my living room window, I mean I've only seen it every day for the past 17 years. I do have a tree growing in my front garden and the area isn't bad, but I prefer watching telly.

Thanks mate. Looking forward to seeing yours.

If I had more living space then obviously the TV wouldn't be in front of the window.

But only one thing matters, the TV and the viewing angles, oh and maybe cable management, which isn't too bad in my case.

@Bojan11 Also I'm moving my tower upstairs as I'm getting a LG 27GN950 as its been quite favourably reviewed. When I get all that set up, I'll be sure to report back here.

Have you picked out a monitor yet? Remember you looking for one.

Who has a home phone in 2020.
Not me but I know my number which I give out to all companies with whom I shop with etc. Feel quite good knowing they'll never get through with their cold calls.

Probably the G9 for PC. Going to make my mind up by and get one before my card arrives, which looks soon. Linus was hyping up the LG CX48 as a monitor, but I’m not too sure about that.

For consoles waiting till HDMI 2.1 monitors are out. Going to upgrade every screen in my set up by this time next year.

Nice wall art. What's a soundbox?
It's like a bar but the amp is built into the back. It's decent but I prefer both separate.
Thanks as well, did all by hand and was really happy with the outcome.

48 CX is obviously fantastic but its not going to be convenient if you're planning sitting right in front of it. Im using a 55 inch C9 obviously and its a pain trying to do any actual PCing. Horrible to do overclocking et al. Just the size is jarring and I don't think the 48 inch would be much different. G9 looks quality obviously but I tried playing cod with 120 fov and I didn't like it at all. I think I'd find ultrawide a horrible experience but different strokes and all that. I'd get a CX for gaming on consoles for sure though.

Amazing colours on that tv, is it an OLED?
No, it's actually a reasonably old LG 75UH780V. I love the OLED look but they're just not bright enough and fear of screenburn... I've just bought a Samsung QLED 95T for my main living room as they look amazing. First fish in the fish tank tomorrow :D

75! Wow nice, I've got a SONY KD65XE9005 which I am super pleased with, the HDR peak brightness and blacks are unreal. What is that fishtank? An app? I would love to try it on my telly.
Nice house by the way.

At the moment yeah but it's getting a bit dull. it sounds weird but .net is just too.. easy? Been doing some .NET Core as well but even that gets a bit samey. I'll probably try to move on to somewhere with a language like kotlin/ruby/go in the new year.
I bet you use spaces over tabs.

No it's just a Youtube video, maybe this one -https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9jHwwJgSTR4&t=6636s obviously it's not *really* 4k HDR but it looks decent enough. I just put a nice screensaver on, some music and have a few beers by myself.
The box on the right is an actual fish tank I want to look exactly like it though.
And thanks, it's taken a lot of work and needs a lot more... :wenger:

I've been using imgur for years and refused to make an account because the community are cnuts.

They post a lot of funny stuff but so many are creepy pervs, fake dog experts and shit meme-spouters.

I don't mind creepy pervs as such.

Aaah, I see... thanks, I just noticed the box fishtank on the right and in the plans, that's going to look amazing, nice one!
