so you know how Man Utd are going to perform over the next 4/5 years?

using that future negative (made up) outlook to determine that Bruno should leave because his career won’t be fulfilled?
No but anyone who isn't a child has the abiliy to analyse their chances.

I would hope that you would be above posting something like this?

personally, I think Utd are going to do well over the next 4-5 years. So I presume I disagree with you?

What I’m not going to do, is be full of negativity, and be so fragile that I’m constantly thinking one of our better players will need to move, because the club is not good enough

I didn't say 4/5 years. In 4/5 years Bruno will be 30/31 yo.
I was talking about 1/2 year. Do you really think we'd win the PL or CL in 1/2 year? Or would be some sort of contender?

P/s: and you should stop accusing people of making up things while you put words people didn't say into their mouth.

in the next two seasons I think we will be genuine challengers. Whether we win such trophies remains to be seen clearly.

thankfully not all our fans base are so negative. Would be great to have fans back in the stadium soon, so the players can see how the fans are behind them. Twitter/forums etc are not a true reflection, as it’s the naysayers who make the most noise.

Based on?

We're currently 14th in the league and just a week ago there were massive calls for Ole's head. What make you think we'd seriously challenge for PL and CL title in 1/2 years?

P/s: I think we're a bit off topic. This thread is to discuss Bruno's performance. How about continue our discussion here?

I don't think he was being negative, he was being realistic.

I agree we potentially could do well, and that we are improving over the seasons.

My problem is that our improvements feel closer to accidents than plans or good decision making.

Who we buy, who we play, what formation we use are inconsistent and almost feel like random guesses/choices.

And then if we change manager I couldn't tell you what the matter is, what relates all our managers.

Calls from who, overreacting and impatient fans? Even if we lost at Everton, he wasn’t going anywhere. It’s the start of the season, and we’ve played a game less than lost, perhaps I’m too old in the tooth to start getting impatient after a few games and look at the bigger picture. I’m not going to go into that here.

Anyway, this is the Bruno thread, not another Ole Out thread. Not interested in carrying this on.

I have said I don't think Ole is the right man to take us to that extra step, but even sitting 14th, he'd only be 6 off 1st (or something like that) if he wins his game in hand. I think it's going to be an open league generally.

Tbh imo Ole has done a pretty fine job. But I don't think we'd be any sort of a title contender anytime soon. It's not about Ole but more about Ed and the Glazers.

Anyway, imo we should not turn this into another Ole or Ed/Glazers thread . We can discuss that in the existing threads or even start a new one I think.

Manchester Utd never lose, just run out of time
The point is a player, especially the driven and winner type love to win big sliverwares. Same thing with top players only want to play in the top leagues, with CL football. They don't play just for the money or fun. They all want to experience what is like to win a league title, a CL title. And their career is short. If RVP comes to us a few years earlier he'd have more than just one title. A player would simply ask himself why wait until the last year in your prime? What if you have a serious injury?

If Real, Barca, PSG comes with a £100m offer do you think he'd leave?
Right now? No.

If we're still in a similar position in 18 months or so then yes, he likely would.

He has been overused by club and NT and it shows clearly. Needs to be rested for a couple games or he will get seriously injured. Not watching the game right now so no idea what happened.

Glad he got subbed off, didn't seem to be through injury. Hopefully just Santos resting him with the insane amount of games he's played. Thought he was actually quite decent, not incredible but any attempt at intricate buildup was killed the horrific Croatian pitch. Had one lovely weak footed through ball to the Portuguese left back.

Not a classic performance by any means but stats taken out of context are such a bad way to judge a player. 15 is high but Jota lost the ball more times in the first 45 and was getting praised for some reason. Bruno was Portugal's only creative source in that half, put in a ton of dangerous balls which might be 'uncompleted' but were inches away from a teammate getting on the end of it. Passing completion (statistically, I'm guessing the amount of crosses he put in contributes to that) was poor but the match was being played on one of the worst pitches I've ever seen and the ball was stopping dead and bouncing all over the place. I'd be surprised if anyone on either team outside of the defenders and holding midfielders passing sideways finished with a high completion rate.

Honestly, Bruno's put in much more frustrating performances than that one for United. I'm just glad we have a proactive player, however inconsistent his delivery can be, rather than another midfielder addicted to sideways passes. Although for some reason part of our fanbase seems to want our #10 to do that more, they forgot Lingard and Pereira quick!

I won’t be worry too much. Good thing he had poor one against Croatia right before our league match because what I like about Bruno is that he always have positive response after poor performance.

That’s the thing with Bruno he’s a bit of a maverick you can get these types of performances out of him but he always plays well the next game.

I wouldn’t worry too much and fully expecting him to be the best player on the pitch come Saturday.

Could be that he just needs a rest also.

He didn't play in one of the internationals at all did he? Do agree that these players are having to play too many games in a short time.

We're so reliant on him it's crazy. Without him we're absolutely fecked.

Hopefully he stays fit for the entire season or something.

No doubt there will be the usual moaning about him being wasteful but jesus does he create so many chances for us, so many passes that nobody else on the pitch could play or would even think of playing, should've had a couple of assists if we could finish.

A 90 minute game with Cavani would be good to see

He created at least 3 good chances and all our strikers were just not on their game at all.

I wish he shot more.

Should've had 2-3 assists today tbh. Another goal. Literally everything in our team goes through him.

Not great overall but I just always bet on him to come up with a pass that 99% of our players wouldn't even attempt. Add to this the obvious workrate and you've got a player who still contributes to the team if he's not at his best.

Why? He could easily have conceded a pen and missed one. His overall game today was meh.

So many miss placed passes it's really irritating to watch.
As I've said before penalties are clouding peoples judgment on him.
He is good but he is not as good as the CAF portrays him to be.
Out of 20 killer balls maybe 3 makes it forward it becomes to much at a certain point.
He needs to learn how to keep it simple at times.
