One went vegan and started a zero waste-shop. One played for Germany and one played in a Euro semifinal. And a lot more. Read what happened to the United products born in 1989: https://manutdungdom.blogg.se/2019/november/unitedprodukterna-fodda-1989-vad-hande-sen-2.html
I have written about our former youth players again (born 1985-2000). I have done a couple of interviews with some of them as well (not this time though). Here is the one about the ones born in 1990. Oliver Gill, obviously, has a particularly interesting story: https://manutdungdom.blogg.se/2020/november/unitedprodukterna-fodda-1990-vad-hande-sen.html

Very interesting read, thanks a lot! A little confusion with photo - this is Chris Fagan, not Kenny Strikland: https://cdn2.cdnme.se/4807949/9-3/strickland1_5fb15819e087c349256dfbb3.jpg

John Curtis back in the mid 90's was hyped up to be a potential first team player. Last i heard he was coaching in america..

I remember alot of fans including (yes even myself) had him earmarked as the next right back for club and country for years to come (yes we've heard that many times before and since regarding youth players) as captain as well! Was highly rated by regular youth watchers better than Gary Neville alot were saying. He was of similar stock.

just goes to show

he left in 2000 with only a handful of starts for the first team. Made a good living out of the game though, I remember he left to go to Blackburn then played for a host of other clubs over the years

This is showing my age but the best youth full back i ever saw was Bobby Noble. Unfortunately he was injured in a car crash and as a result suffered from double vision. He tried to restart his career but to no avail.

Bobby Noble was tipped for England honours...you're not the first person to talk favourably about him.

I interviewed him some years ago...nice guy.

James Wilson seems to be finding the net regularly for Salford.

Nice to see after a tough time leaving United both South and North of the border.

Hope he finds his way

Oh good news. If he can stay fit and enjoy his football again he's still time to get to a decent level.

Not sure if I've asked this before, but how close was Robbie Savage to getting into the first team back in the early 90's ? He turned out to be a very good PL player in the end.

He seems a decent lad, as you say he's got time on his side and a chance of a good career.

He is a natural finisher, and looks like he's enjoying himself. Was sorely needed for him.

Thought this was a bit classless from the club. Was a while ago though so hopefully things have changed.

Angel Gomes on loan at Boavista (Lille), 9 games so far, 3 goals and 3 assists, 770 mnutes of play so he is playing full 90 minutes almost every game. Boavista close to relegation zone, but overall probably good loan for Gomes to gain experience and play every week.

I don't think he's owned by Lille anymore but could be mistaken. Lille have been sold and the out going President owns the registration rights of the player.

Hm, not sure if that is possible by UEFA rules. You can't have person owns players, like slaves or something. Even if new owner, player signed for club, and they can sell him only if he wants to be sold and only during transfer window.

He's (Gomes) owned by Boavista and Gerard Lopez owns Boavista.

Gomes is definitely owned by Lille, and loaned to Boavista. Since Lopez lost Lille, and now just owns Boavista and Mouscron, he will have to negotiate buying of Gomes if he is interested, but Gomes at the moment is Lille's player. Lille's new management will sell a lot of players in order to cut back loses and repay loans, so maybe they will look to sell Gomes as well. Soumare is for example good player for us to check out, as we need DM.

Celtic are being linked with Pearson on a pre-contract. For some reason PNE are letting contracts of some of their best players run down. Think he'd be good in the Scottish PL.

Can't they go for Lingard, Jones and Rojo instead?

It's because their owner is incredibly stingy. They're going to lose all 4 of their best players for nothing, they'll be going down to League One in 2021/22. For anyone who's interested, Pearson's disciplinary record has improved tenfold, I always felt that would be what held him back from ever ending up in the top division. He'll be a good pick up for Celtic, I'd wager.

Bizarre as Hemmings' one of the wealthiest Englishman alive. Feel for PNE fans, Neill is a good manager, he just needed to be backed properly.

Aidan Barlow still without a club? Seemed a neat, tidy player anytime I saw him and think it's odd he's not playing atm.

He’s been suffering from depression. He trialled with Stoke but didn’t get a deal.
That's a great shame, cracking footballer with a good attitude. Wish him all the best and hope he can get to enjoying his football again.

That's sad to hear. I used to enjoy watching him play for the youth team. Hope he gets the help and support he needs.
