One of my favourite United players of all time. I actually think he’s be great in this current side linking everything together.
But at the same time, Tevez was very underwhelming in his second season (and I think his first one was good, but not great.) Tevez started well with City but soon enough the attitude issues crept in. I don't think Fergie really got it wrong with Tevez/Find the way he is talked about now by United fans remarkable. Didn’t do enough in 08/09 and we lost Tevez because of him when Tevez was a better player. 09/10 he was a real let down, if he was anything of a half-decent back up to Rooney we’d have won the league that year. Even 10/11 he was class in the first half but completely lost his place in the second half of the season. 11/12 he was practically a reserve player.
Just shows if you ooze class like he did fans will forget the constant stick he got. I’m happy Berbatov is remembered fondly by United fans now. Such a unique player.
Berbatov was actually good under pressure. How would Berbatov's laconic style translate to the high press which has become almost ubiquitous in today's game? Doubt he participates in it due to his extremely low work rates, but how'd he cope getting harried every time he has a sniff of the ball?
Lazy? Really. One of Fergie's worst decisions buying Berbatov instead of signing Tevez. Talented but so lazy and a terrible attitude in he never once tried to modify his game to play for United.
Much more talented players than him came to United and realised that they would also have to work for the club to make it and be successful.
Complete and utter tosh, embarrassing to be posting dross like this to be honest.Talented but so lazy and a terrible attitude
Legendary footballer? Since when?Lazy? Really.
Terrible attitude?
Wonder how the feck he can become a legendary footballer with those attitude.
....Bulgaria's greatest? He is a legend according to Bulgarians.Legendary footballer? Since when?
Lazy? Really.
Terrible attitude?

You must be new to football. Hristo Stoichkov was way better and is the greatest.....Bulgaria's greatest? He is a legend according to Bulgarians.
The best modern Bulgarian player, the first Bulgarian to win PL.
Take nothing away from him, he worked hard. Saying he is lazy and bad attitude is just a stupid agenda.
In the modern era, Berba is easily the greatest Bulgarian. You must be new to football. Hristo Stoichkov was way better and is the greatest.
Sigh.Legendary ?
Yes lazy and a terrible attitude in that he never once realised he would have to earn his shirt at united to work hard for the team.
Instead he felt he just had to do what he had always done before and that is shocking.
Cantona was more talented yet still knew whdn he played for United he had to put the work in as well. Thats the difference
Stoichkov played for Barcelona until 1998. What is your definition of modern? Otherwise Cantona becomes redundant to United in the modern era when he infact is part of United’s modern history. Bloody hell SAF joined United in 1986.In the modern era, Berba is easily the greatest Bulgarian.
You can have more than one legend, you know.
The guy is a legend in his own right.
I love Berbatov. I am aware that he should have been better for us but he wasn't bad like some people try to say. Plus watching him play was joy to watch. In the modern era, Berba is easily the greatest Bulgarian.
You can have more than one legend, you know.

I mean he did finish Premier League top scorer for us... one of only 5 players we've had do that for us (in the PL era)Yet another player who never lived up to expectations. Didn't do it for us. He was a different player for Spurs. We got a lot more out of Teddy!
Was that the season when he scored 11 goals in 3 games and then 9 in the other 35. Such a weird season.I mean he did finish Premier League top scorer for us... one of only 5 players we've had do that for us (in the PL era)

Sorry but your definition of modern era is ridiculous.
Still different era of players.Stoichkov played for Barcelona until 1998. What is your definition of modern? Otherwise Cantona becomes redundant to United in the modern era when he infact is part of United’s modern history. Bloody hell SAF joined United in 1986.

It is concluded long time ago, the fee paid was worth it after that hat trick.Strange signing.
Scored a hatrick against those wankers and won the PL. So it turned out to be a good signing.
Yeah I am not disputing either of them, I was disputing him being the greatest Bulgarian of the modern era.Still different era of players.
The argument is here whether Berbatov is a legend. He is, doesn't matter legend of what scale, for Bulgaria or United or Spurs, he is one of the greatest Bulgarian to ever play football.
It is concluded long time ago, the fee paid was worth it after that hat trick.
Stoichkov probably in his prime during the 90s, Berba during the 00s.Yeah I am not disputing either of them, I was disputing him being the greatest Bulgarian of the modern era.
During that time United wasn't a small time club. That is what a small time club would say. Oh we beat a liverpool once that's enough for us
Oh yeah I totally agree with that.Stoichkov probably in his prime during the 90s, Berba during the 00s.
I might be wrong about the modern part.
yeah, They are both the greatest Bulgarian in their respective generations.
To be fair though Berba is the last great Bulgarian footballer, after that it's been woeful for them.
During that time United wasn't a small time club.
Berba also helped us won a league title.
Even then I think he scored 20 in the league but he bagged 3 hattricks and one game where he scored four if I remember correctlyOne good season for us as top scorer. Wrong signing and overrated.
That's not an interesting debate at all. Peak Rooney was one of the best attacking players of the last 20 years. Peak Rooney could do, and quite often did, literally everything on the field. Peak Berbatov doesn't even come close.Peak Berbatov v Peak Rooney would be an interesting debate.
I’m a Rooney fan and agree that at his best Rooney was phenomenal and I even agree that Rooney was a more complete footballer — we all remember how desperately he wanted to play in midfield later in his career — but peak Berba v peak Roo in the final third is a pretty close call. But no one can deny how hot and cold he was throughout his career and that he was more a brute force than he was a creator of chances. That's not an interesting debate at all. Peak Rooney was one of the best attacking players of the last 20 years. Peak Rooney could do, and quite often did, literally everything on the field. Peak Berbatov doesn't even come close.
2 hat-tricks, scored 5 in one game. One of the hat-tricks was the 3-2 win over Liverpool.Even then I think he scored 20 in the league but he bagged 3 hattricks and one game where he scored four if I remember correctly
Legendary? What did he even do for Bulgaria? Throughout his time as the Bulgaria captain they didn't even qualify for any major competitions. He was scoring against bums in friendlies and qualifiers.Lazy? Really.
Terrible attitude?
Wonder how the feck he can become a legendary footballer with those attitude.
Understandable if it's England/Spain/Portugal, you can say that. This is Bulgaria we're talking about, having a player representing their country in the biggest team in the world, he should make his country proud.Legendary? What did he even do for Bulgaria? Throughout his time as the Bulgaria captain they didn't even qualify for any major competitions. He was scoring against bums in friendlies and qualifiers.
