Should we consider selling Pogba?

i’d rather say sell this clown in january! Bench him now and sell him in january! Let him have all the fecking fresh air he wants away from the club!! Probably there will also be more fresh air once this clown leaves! He’s not even a world class player. He’s a fraud. What has he done since be joined? Danced? Took selfies? Changed hair cuts? We’ve been trying to find excuses for him for 5 years. He isn’t playing in his best position, we need to buy a player to help unleash him, we need to change the formation to play him in the position he wants! Well guess what, if he’s a good player then probably he would’ve adapted

look at kante for example, he plays a different role for chelsea than the national team. He doesn’t complain, he delivers.

this clown needs to go. He thinks a comment like this would put pressure on Ole to play him. It shouldn’t. It should be something that moves him closer to the door. Kick him out. He’s been flirting with madrid for years and for some reason we, the fans, have let it go. He is playing at the biggest club in the world. You either respect that or feck off!!

saying that the players are not together is something that is not acceptable! Even if that is true (which is not), you don’t say this in public! What a professional!! The players themselves should push him off the training ground when he’s back to manchester.

what a joke of a player he is!! We’ve had enough
He didn't say it though so there's that.

That's irrelevant to what i posted.

I recall Jose saying examples where he wasn't able to 'discipline' the player, and wondering if others remembered what he said?
I don't recall I'm afraid.

Didn't Pogba say at one point he didn't want to answer a question or he'd get fined. Pretty poor thing to say but it does show the manager had some authority. Jose had also dropped him by the end, hadn't he?

Does anyone have a link to the whole interview? Even if it's in French?
I can only find what the RTL Journalist has put up on Twitter.

Clarity for MUFC Supporters. At no time does he denigrate the club but just notes he is in difficulty and needs to find consistency in his performance.

The Pogba quote translates as per Romano without the line about the club.

Of course it’s relevant. When a manager spent big on a player, he should be doing more research about the player so you know what type of player you are actually signing and player’s desire/determination to help and play for the club, not just because he has big name.

He was average pre-Covid too. Let’s not keep making excuses for him.

He was potentially World Class, won the WC then never kicked on. It’s sad but we have to move on. He’s not going to be the player we thought he’d end up being.
He was utter shite right now, but he was voted Premierleague team of the year (best 11) in season 18-19, the season after the WC, with by far the best stats out of all of our players. You could still argue he was inconsistent throughout the year though, but he was still among the best in the league during that year overall. I think the correct timeline of his downfall began since his injuries in early last season.

Mou and SAF got it right

Ole coming here putting Pogba on a pedestal trying to lick off the manna of Pog sweat was hysterical

Eventually it seemed like Ole realized the wisdom of those before him and bought Bruno, thank goodness

Still plenty Ole has to get through his thick skull

Andrei Kanchelskis made me fall in love with Unite
to nobody’s surprise it is.

At this point I don't really give a shit about whether he mentioned his club or not. By saying what he's saying he's alluding once again to not being happy here. I used to love Pogba, but cannot wait for him to go now. Every international break it's the same, some little hint at a move away, when we've been paying his wages while he barely kicked a ball last year. It would be lovely to hear an interview with him where he doesn't stir the shit. All he has to say is that he's concentrating on helping his club and that it's inappropriate and disrespectful to his club to speak openly about a move. Get him out ASAP.

Yesterday's quotes have clearly been spun, but I couldn't care less. Over the past year, while contributing almost nothing on the pitch, he has constantly bad-mouthed the club to the media. Us fans' frustrations are not just from yesterday's supposed quotes. It has built up from his on and off-the-pitch rubbish over the past two years.

Honestly, I don't want to see the guy play for us anymore. On current form, well, based on the past two years, Fred, McT, VdB and Bruno are far better players in terms of skill and work rate. We won't even miss him unless we face an injury crisis (touch wood), in which case I'd genuinely recall Pereira and play Mejbri in there. When Pogba plays like this and doesn't contribute his quality while mouthing off to the press, he is genuinely useless. Put him in the reserves so he isn't matchfit for Euro 2021.

Seriously Ole, instead of Pogba, play Donny. He has been a far better player than Pogba since the 2018-19 season ffs. What more of a sample size do you need than two whole seasons? He's clearly a good lad who is liked by the dressing room too, and he hasn't mouthed off despite not getting a fraction of the playing time his reputation, quality and mentality deserves (Sjaak Swart wasn't his agent before anyone brings that up).

Mourinho was right about him. He may criticise his players, but one thing is that it's always constructive. He's never called anyone else a virus, and Pogba certainly is one in football terms and to the dressing room. Pound for pound, considering his exorbitant fee and wages, and miniscule contribution since his arrival in 2016, he is the second worst player in the club's history after Di Maria. At least Sanchez's fee was simply Mkhitaryan, who was valued at around £15m at the time.

Sell him in the 2021 summer window and buy Camavinga, Grealish, Maddison or Bellingham. They are all realistic and attainable.

I want to know what’s the question. His answer doesn’t match together. Why is he talking about he’s in difficult time for his performance but at the same time he also continue that context to being in France team is like a breath of fresh air, the group is exceptional, it's magic’’ ?

He's not even in our best 11 anyway, which for a player of his talent says a lot. We'll definitely make a loss but who cares?

Tired of him running his mouth off every time he is away. Feck off already.

We have Donny to back up Bruno. Sell Pogba and get a class midfielder who won't be giving up a penalty every time he is in is own box defending. If we can get 60-70 for him, get him out of the club and get someone who will want to be here. Tired of defending him now. He is all words at the moment and flails every time he puts on our jersey.

Did you see this:

...On prend beaucoup de plaisir à venir et on est tous heureux de se revoir. Ce n'est pas pareil qu'en club (...) On se regroupe tous, c'est magique. On réalise que tout le monde est heureux de venir et cela fait la différence.
My french is rusty; is the bolded part 'it's not like being at a club' or 'it's not like at being at the club'? Or neither?

He is just saying that it's different than being at our respective clubs. He's talking about the enjoyement and bond they all feel together.
I knew straight away this was gonna be interpreted as a dig at Utd  We just saw the DM creating clicks with a Rashford non story, the media live for this shit. Generating bullshit out of thin air.

He's talking to a French journalist about how he's hasn't been playing well but he's happy to play for the National team and talking them up?

I don't think there is anything new there.

Come on, Pogba is the master of loaded media interviews. Talking about wanting a new challenge in the summer of 2019, saying he dreams of playing at Madrid earlier this year. Maybe it is a misinterpretation or an honest mistake, but for someone who ahs flirted so openly with leaving the club in the past i don't think he's gonna get any benefit of the doubt when he says that being with his national team mates is like a breath of fresh air.

The answer to the thread title is clearly "yes".

Maybe the new question should be "should we consider loaning him out in January for the rest of the season?"

Get his wages off the club books for a few months, get him out of the dressing room and allow him to show what he can do to try and rescue some value for a summer sale.

Well it's 'un club' so it's 'a club' rather than any specific club.

He seems to be referencing the fact that the international set up is different to being at a club where you're with your team mates day in day out. They all meet up every so often or 'regroup' and it's good to see everyone again.

There's really nothing in it.

On this particular instance, I don't see it my friend. In others, I agree with you.

But that all means he doesnt feel enjoyment nor the bond at United, right?

Exactly this. It's a turn of phrase that's meant to include all the other players too.

He wasn’t just saying he’s happy to play for France, he actually said France team is a breath of fresh air as continuation when he spoke about his difficult period. It’s like he’s indicating he feels shit in the club but feels the opposite in his national team. I think to know what’s the question here will help but then again it doesn’t really matter isn’t it. I mean everyone in here already know Pogba has different dream to play for another club, his contract is about to come to end soon in his 290k p/w, don’t think what he said in that tweet or article matters.

To be fair there is a lot of over-reaction going on due to poor translation by journalists and the like. just for clicks and outrage

Yep, to me what he said sounded more like "Going with the French team is a breath of fresh air, something new". I think he kinda is referring to the fact that he plays, it'a different atmosphere, and so on.

It's nothing if he didn't say 'it's not the same at the club'. What did he want people to understand by saying that?

This is a common theme amongst players when speaking about their national team.

I've heard loads of the Ireland players make similar comments over the years when speaking to Irish Journalists about playing with the Irish team.

Do you not think it's understandable given how his form hasn't been good and he's been in and out of the team?

He's talking about getting away to a different environment, hopefully play well and get some consistency back?

Getting consistency in his performances means playing well for United, by the way.

Your using the mistranslation to skew the quote into a direct reference to United and then asking me what he expected?
Then what should be the correct translation of Ce n'est pas pareil qu'en club?

Well it's 'un club' so it's 'a club' rather than any specific club.

Oh God. It's not 'un', it's 'en'.

You clearly don't speak or understand French.

'It's not the same as a club'

'le club' would be 'the club', 'un club' is 'a club'.

He's saying that the international set up is a different experience to being at a club, or the players' respective clubs, which it obviously is.

I don't see why it should matter if it is a direct reference to the club. Why should joining the National Team be a breath of fresh air compared to club football?
