Felt like a bit of a let down in a way. It could've been done with more drama, but he was just there. I love the character but again, he wasn't his usual charismatic self.
That's true, a proper entrance would have been good. I was glad to see him but wish they never did the hearing his voice bit first. I wouldn't want him storming a house etc with guns in either arm but would have liked to see him do something. When I posted I thought he'd be back later but seemingly not. They should also never really do major real people in the show, you knew Mosley wouldn't die so there was no tension

Also can someone educate me please. Why and when was Mosley knighted?

I believe it was a title passed down to him.

That's a ridiculous rule which I assume doesn't stand now?

Also, I know it may be petty but can it be taken away like I assume some other shady people in the past may have been? Bit odd a fascist in fairly recent times has a title like that

No idea, mate. You'd like to think so.

Made me intrigued to look him up. Seems like one of those where he's just perfect for the role. His natural voice and mannerisms are already there, it just needs turning up a notch. But yeah great acting nonetheless.
Think that Paul Andersen is just Arthur so to speak. Think he is just portraying different parts of himself, sort of like how Clint Eastwood plays himself but plays him well as does Paul Anderson. He is great as a hardcase. Think he was really good in The Firm and in Top Boy.

Just finished watching the latest season, very frustrated it's done and can't wait for the sequel. I didn't know anything about Mosley (and didn't want to check him up before the end of the season to avoid any spoilers), so the tension worked throughout for me, especially in the last episode. Interesting set up for the next season, which might be the last?

Wasn’t aware he was a real person.

I really like Peaky Blinders but thought it was a disappointing season. 2 years is a long time to wait for a series that's just setting up another series that's likely another 2 years away.

Also, like all successful long running shows a lot of the characters are turning into caricatures of themselves. Arthur in particular.

They've said there's definitely 6 seasons, possibly 7, and that it'll end as WWII begins.

Just watched last season. Bloody hell, i just hate when season finish like this. With 100 questions and without ending of current storyline.
Now i must wait 12 fecking months.

Now, who didn't watched last season or any season, STOP reading; big spoiler alert incoming.

Tommy talked with at least 10 people about his masterplan about Mosley. So why is he so surprised?

I was convinced they must have filmed the rest and would release it pretty soon after. But no. Quite frustrating as there were some great moments in the build up but as a series it ended up all fart and no shit.

I've only recently started watching season five, and some reason I'm finding it quite hard to get into. Did the show always have this many over stylised slow-motion scenes, or have they over done it? I'm only halfway through episode three, so I'll persevere, but it all seems a bit too theatrical so far.

There definitely seemed to be more of it in this season.

I don't think I saw Polly move at a normal speed all season.
:D

It's always been a bit like that, "theatrical" as @Parma Dewol says, but I'd say the first couple of seasons felt fresher. At least, the premise of the interwar period gypsy mafia wrapped in "modern" visual and musical gimmicks worked much better for me earlier on.

I've just started watching season 5 and for the first couple of episodes it felt like they were parodying themselves.

For all the moaning we do about the show, I wish there was a new season on right now to watch.

Luca Changretta, what a man.

I'm no italian so I can't comment on how authentic brody performances was, but to me he's quite charming.

Oh, and Hardy was annoying as feck
Changretta was fecking brilliant in this. Bit over the top, but really stole that season.

I liked Hardy too honestly.

He doesn't look menacing enough for me, sure he talks funny but he doesn't look like the guy you don't want to mess with.
I felt he showed a lot of menace despite trying to come across calm like Pesci in the Irishman. He was funny as hell though.

Started this - gone through a season already.

It took me a long time to get into this, probably cos of the accents (and it annoyed my gf a lot). But had it started, and already got through a season. Really enjoying it. Has a Boardwalk empire type vibe (if that makes sense).

Guessing the protagonists for the new season are gonna be the top players in the horse racing. And Campbell?

Taken a long time due to work and all, but finished s3 and 4 this week through a binge of myself and my gf finally being at home during the day.

S4 ending was nuts. Not sure if it was good or bad, it was just... a lot? Felt like they packed in about 2 episodes worth in one. Maybe 5 builds onto that (hoping to finish that before end of the week).

Tom Hardy was great. But glad i had subtitles on for some of his parts

Also avoiding google on this as I may spoil s5, but is there a s6? Is it confirmed and for when if so?

I can’t remember where it’s up to but there’s definitely another one in the pipeline.

Eurgh when I saw this bump I thought there was news on season 6. I hate you Sylar.

I think there's plans to make 2 more in total!
 Ah sorry :(

I wanted to check myself but also have a season left to finish.
I really like that its six episodes. I remember there was a time that used to annoy me and I was used to 13+ episodes from USA.
Now as I grow older, this is much more streamlined / less filler.

I can’t remember where it’s up to but there’s definitely another one in the pipeline.
OK wicked. I like the time jumps they do, but I still think theres a lot they can cover (remember being told the plan is to take it upto the war)

There is. Due to Covid they had to shut down filming. Now filming will start next year due to actors having scheduling conflicts. Stephen Graham has been cast.

Finally watched it all and what a brilliant series. It does have its flaws undoubtedly and it is style over substance feeling at some points, but in general it pushed all the right buttons for me.
Thinking about it and why it worked so great for me, it is just that I loved and cared about every single character in there. Overall, one of my favorite shows ever.

I only watched it last month too and was hooked. You do care about them it's written that way. It's like the Sopranos when you know you shouldn't really be rooting for Tony morally but you do.

Yeah, it is brilliantly made in that regard. You start to watch it and think Tommy steals the show, but after a while you love them all.

From Artur absolute craziness, calming down and coming back even more nuts then ever to John who was a bit shallow character, but in the end probably looked like one of the least fecked up and fully settled with his family.

And then there is Alfie thrown just enough for a good measure. The time difference in making every season is a great choice too imo.

That said, season 6 please.
