Other Best 4G mini hub?

So I've just been informed that the likelihood of proper broadband happening before January is remote and that in the meantime I should get a 4g mini hub on a rolling contract.

Has anyone got any experience with these, and if yes, which ones are the best?

Cheers.

What data limits do you have on your mobile phone? Could you use it as a hotspot instead?

Phone's unlimited, but it's a massive drain on the battery, is wildly unstable and forces you to place the phone in an optimal position as the range throughout a whole house, serving multiple devices, is a struggle.

A week like that has been enough, tbh.

Ah that's fair enough.

4G mobile broadband works really well if the coverage is decent in your area. I set it up for a friend who had multiple devices working perfectly on it.

Get a sim like that. Not sure about hub as I used one a few years back and was terrible.
So that sim in a good hub, and that’s my best bet?

When you say terrible, was there something in particular that was wrong, or was the whole thing bad?

Any idea on a brand or specific product?

Thanks both for the suggestions, btw.

Yeah unlimited tethering, unlimited data and no contract. They are owned by three, so your three coverage needs to be good.

I can’t remember, but I had a spare phone and just used that instead which was much easier. Just switch on mobile tethering and you are done.

A burner phone I bet!

I wonder what you're up to with that Bojan Escobar?

Drug dealers don’t use burner phones with tethering you pillock. They use good old Nokia phones with just snake.
Thanks for educating me, I'm glad an expert is willing to share his knowledge. I've passed on the details to the police. I'll see you in court.

Why you going to see me in court? Surely the police officer is going to say that to me.

Oh and it’s Friday. Maybe consider changing one of your thread topics to recognise something is out now. Stop ruining this thread too.

the brand of the mobile broadband router isn’t as important as the data coverage of the SIM card you choose. I would check online to see which of the mobile phone providers have the best data coverage in your postcode and choose them. You could even get a Pay as you go SIM card just to test what the data speed is. EE are the fastest network in the U.K. and have a pretty good coverage across the country.

Makes sense.

Will get on to them in the morning and compare and contrast to @Bojan11's suggestion.

Cheers.

I am with EE and they are the best for me, but they also the most expensive. Don’t think they have unlimited data sims for short term.

Same. I think they'll try bind me to some 12-month contract instead of a rolling one, which is obviously not what's needed. Haven't had time to call them today.

It's been pretty brutal if I try to do anything more than surf the net. Toggling still between phone and hub or at least having both on to share the loads.

It's going to be a challenging 6 weeks.
