Klopp must have surely got it wrong bringing him to Anfield. An example of a player playing in a league way out of his depth. Interesting if Liverpool fans see any potential cos I don't.

At £8m it was worth a punt but he was hilariously overrated at the time. Remember caf hipsters were saying him and Hwang were better prospects than Haaland this time last year.

Took a very cheap punt, hasn't worked out at all and I can't see it changing, he looks in most ways completely incompatible with the league.

Generally speaking, most transfers don't work out. If you're gonna fail, then you should fail with the cheap players that are initially considered bench options/future prospects.

£8m isn't bad for a flop. Too lightweight for the league.

How is Hwang getting on?

Not started a single game for Leipzig in the CL or the League this season. 45 minutes in Europe, 104 minutes in the Bundesliga. 0 goals, 0 assists.

Outroar on the caf that we weren't in for him. Liverpool fans were wetting their pants over him with many having never seen him play. They've all gone a bit quiet now, think he's been discarded for their new toy Jota
Thought that was weird at the time
Hindsight is 20/20. He genuinely looked like the best player in that team.

There's a reason for why the majority of transfers fail despite spending millions on scouting and having the most qualified people on the job. Below a certain price tag, it's damn near impossible to predict which players will work out or not.

Barely playing for RB leipzeg. They've really struggled for goals up front after selling Werner and losing Schiek, their current highest scorer is Angelino, a left wing back.

Probably going a little under the radar to be honest. He actually has the most presses per 90 mins for Liverpool this season although with only 1.7 times 90 mins to work with so that makes it easier to be high on the list. Keita and Jota are the next 2 of their pressing numbers

Sounds like something that would be said to defend Jesse Lingard

Yep. What an exceptionally ludicrous metric to judge an attacker on. Most presses!
We'll be saying a striker has cleared a lot of corners next.

Haven't seen him play but he only moved in January in a very disrupted season, yes some other new signings have may had more impact but it's a bit early to form an opinion.
Also, at £8m, expectations aren't that high. Watch them sell him for £20m to Bournemouth now.

Yes, Lingard is one of our better pressers. At least from the front players... He's probably worth paying £8 million for as well

Having said that so far Minamino averages 28 per 90 mins, more than any of our players this season. But less than Lingard last season

Not going to happen not for that money! He's already 25 and not shown anywhere near the quality that would justify that price tag!

To be fair to Ox, he was really good in the second half of his first season with us. Just a freak injury which put him out for a year has stalled him massively. He still looks good but as with a lot of attacking players that suffer ACL injuries, he's not got back to that level.

Keita is a strange one. He looks amazing in some games and then doesn't in others. I wouldn't class him as a flop but he's certainly not consistently playing to the level that I thought he would.

Minamino has been at the club less than a year, didnt speak the language to start with and had to adapt to a new country and the restrictions of covid. You won't find many Liverpool fans slating him. I think he'll come good but like someone mentioned, when you've got a player like Jota who comes in and immediately begins to play at the required level, it makes it harder for others to fit in without pressure.

Out of all the signings that Klopp has made, the only one that has been a complete flop is Karius and he was only £4.7m. Unfortunately, we only got a £4.7m performance from him a lot of the time

Generous. I'd quantify that CL final performance well into the negative millions :D

Hasn’t contributed anything, but also barely cost anything, so a worthwhile signing regardless. The Dan James defence

He's played 148 minutes. Why are you bringing that up? It has no significance.

He's really poor at the moment but new country, new language, new culture, new way of playing (Klopp), covid disruption, all takes time.

The only difference is while he gets used to it all, we signed Jota for the gap in between.

One the one hand everyone on the internet says he’s shit but on the other Melissa Reddy claims to have been told by people from Salzburg that he’s a far superior player to Haaland and they set his clause low so they could let that beautiful little bird fly away. It’s hard to know which mentalist to believe.

Well I guess we should wait and find out when he's playing next to Haaland next season (if internet is to be believed). ;)

Great so his actual performances shouldnt be judged. Got it.
Yeah that's exactly what I said. For someone that almost exclusive talks about statistics you sometimes have a hard time inferring their relevance. You refering to Minamo having the best stat in anything for Liverpool from his 148 minutes of playtime is like me going downtown and asking 10 people who they vote for and determining based on that how popular each party is. But let's get more specific. Your stat is basically saying Minamino has pressed twice this season. That's it. Why isn't Fosu-Mensah starting every match? He's got the most dribbles in our squad and the 2nd most key passes. Ighalo and Tuanzebe both have 100% passing yet they barely get a sniff.

He's been playing too deep I think, he looks ok higher up the pitch. He's better than smegging Origi anyway. Highly anonymous deeper in midfield though.

He isn't making it in the this league.

He's too weak physically and has shown nothing in his arsenal to make up for it. No noteworthy turn of pace or dastardly dribbling ability, no real aggression either.

So many times when he receives the ball with his back to goal, defenders just wrap their legs in front of his puny physique and take the ball from him.

Brighton was a low point as he was so low on confidence, he was basically just lumping it forward aimlessly when facing front and passing it back otherwise. You could see the other players weren't keen on passing to him either.

He reminds me of Vladimir Smicer except that Smicer was a vastly superior player.
