The lads from cultures of honor...I tell ya. ;)
 Wish we all just could respect and understand the culture!

UFC need to make a cartoon promo for his next fight, this time, featuring his mum.
I can't wait for him to come back out of "retirement" and people to spin it and pretend they know his family again "His mum must of said it was fine...no other explanation for this"

Didn't realize Blaydes got Covid and the main event is off. Now it's the Anthony Smith fight that is main event. The card looks beyond shit.

UFC really needs to start thinking quality over quantity.

Seriously i think its a marketing problem.
How many fights are for real a borefest? I think maybe around 20% at most maybe?
The think with MMA is that they are so unpredictable that it's not a rare ocurrence that when i turn on the tv on some fight nights with nonames on the card, the fights turn out to be absolute epic battles. So yeah it's cool when the hype machine is on and theres a monster card on paper but the UFC should figure out a way to promote the sport better because it hardly dissapoints even on evenings when no big names are fighting

Especially following up on last weeks card (which I know in hindsight was a good card etc etc but it was hardly must watch before hand)

It's a problem they have suffered for a while, they put all their eggs in a couple of baskets. Maybe part of it is because the lesser known they are the more control the UFC has over them or something I don't know.

In fairness it's probably pretty hard to also promote people every single week, the people you're promoting to will suffer burn out. Look at it when it felt like Rogan was calling everyone on every PPV card one of the best ever, everyone rightfully took the piss of it.

If you've got a card every few weeks instead of once a week you'd actually get some names on there but I do think they suffer from putting on to many events and therefore it becomes impossible to promote them all every time.

Even Covid doesn't want to see Leon Edwards fight. It infected him and his fight with Chimaev is off.

Fantastic discussion for anyone remotely interested in combat sports. As always Chael P gives us something to ponder on, regarding rules etc. But my word, mma at Olympics? It would undoubtedly raise the level of the sport even further. Maybe too far? Learning wrestling, bjj, judo, kick boxing, boxing etc all at amatuer level. I know people are doing it now but not to the level of requirements of an Olympian.

Chael is one of them people who talks for ages for a point that could take about 30 seconds to make. Really loves the sound of his own voice but we always knew that.

Yep. Luke Thomas is another one of those. They are just filling minutes on their Youtube clips for extra income.

Fortunately, there are better alternatives out there: Connor Ruebusch from Heavy Hands, Jack Slack.

Only just realised Ferguson is back and fighting this weekend against Charles Olivera. That's going to be an insane fight.

Crazy that despite his record, this feels like a must win for Tony.
Yeah I'd agree. 36 years old now and he's been in some absolute wars and taken so much punishment over the years. Oliveira's a good fighter, can't see this being anything other than a FOTYC unless it finishes early in the first round.

There is a rumour going around... Apparently, Oliveira's team reached to the UFC to tell them that he might came heavy (over 156 pounds, more like 158-59).

Tony's response:

I hope Do Bronx make weight and not feck it up.

This is disheartening. I hope he makes weight. He has worked hard and beat some stiff competition to finally get to this spot so if he fecks it up because he can't make weight then it's a real shame on him. With him missing weight in the past, Dana will probably not trust him for a title shot if he misses it here.

Rumble Johnson to Bellator. That's interesting. If you enjoy seeing people knocked out.

Surprised that Figueirdo vs Moreno is happening so soon, considering they only fought a fortnight ago on UFC 255

It's the quickest championship defense turn around in history.

Rooting for Fig. He's knocking motherfeckers out, which will get the division more eyeballs.

Ridiculous, but there you go. Happy to see of course but there really should be health and safety regulations against this.... For the weight cutting risks alone....

Glad to watch though. It is what it is!
