Players miss sitters - blame Ole.

The Caf is a belter.
No, Martial is to blame for missing the sitters, that’s his job which he regularly does atrociously.

Ole should have hauled him off earlier along with Fred. Ole had a big feck up here tonight.

The only guy to blame today is Martial. Singlehandedly lost us the tie.
Can't even argue about other aspects but this is just wrong. He missed one clear-cut chance but that's it. Mbappe missed a similar one on the break.

Strikers miss chances and have bad patches. But if you play well and create chances, you eventually win.

The fact he took until minute 80 to make subs says it all.

Only Ole could feck this group up after winning the first two games 7-1! We should have comfortably topped it. Now we might go back into the Europa fecking league ffs.

Out.

Again from the BBC

Disappointing night for MUFC but it's largely one of their own making > leaving Fred on after halftime > not taking chances > scattershot tactical decisions Completely awful, and it's games like this that question whether OGS is the right person for the job.

Another Ole masterclass. Some of his decisions don’t make sense at all, what was he thinking really?

We're back to his inept game management.

Fred and Rashford who was barely able to walk were such obvious changes to anyone.

Ighalo at the end was just funny and cost us another goal.

Seems hiring a club playing legend to be a manager has really impaired people's ability to judge a manager.

Absolutely. Up until the red it was a good performance, hell it’s been pretty decent with 10 men.
But @Zen86, he’s not fecking Jesus, you can call a spade a spade and leaving Fred on was stupid as feck.
Like I said, it was a gamble which obviously didn’t pay off. We should’ve been out of sight and 9 times out of 10 we would’ve been. Hindsight is a wonderful thing.

The reaction is this thread is hilarious though. Like a consequence of the Southampton game.

Criminal. This is as bad management as subbing on Nick Powell when needing a goal.

Fred should not have played that second half - that is all on Ole. Yeah we could've been up 3-1, but hey, we weren't - so act according to the game and the scoreline, Ole. His red card was so imminent and we had loads of midfielders on the bench.
What on earth is going through Ole's head? Wanting to do the opposite of what everybody was thinking for the off chance that he could come off as some tactical genius?

People will defend Ole by saying... "well we had the chances, Ole can't put them in" - that is in no way why people are fuming though - the subs he made were odd (taking off Rashford and Cavani) and the subs he didn't make (taking off Fred at half time and Martial way before the 79th - he was atrocious as always this season).

Martial created two of our best chances. The Cavani chip and the Bruno chance where he decided to pass instead of shoot.

I think there may have been another but I can't remember.
I don't care, he missed an absolute sitter and can't score to save his life. Mike Phelan could have buried the chance he had.

Little bit naive of not taking out Fred. Even if it isn't red.

Otherwise, brilliant setup and should have won if Martial could score.

Players miss sitters all the time. Taking Fred off was a decision every single United fan could see as the sensible thing to do. Him not doing it put us to ten men, then it led to Cavani coming off and Maguire taking his place as the 9. I mean, how in the feck are y'all defending the management in this game.

Fred should have been off at half time. Greenwood/VDB should have been on for Martial early in the second half. Rashford should have been taken off as soon as he was signalling. Basic, basic calls. Ole got all of them wrong.

Weird one. We started poorly but after 20 minutes gained control and really should scored a couple in that time. We obviously planned to exploit PSG's left hand side and that worked well. Identified that Neymar doesn't track back and we overloaded that side. In that, Olé deserves some credit.

But Solksjaer didn't react when Tuchel changed his sides shape and strengthened defensively. And the Fred thing was just stupid. We have enough quality in midfield that we can absorb the loss of his energy. Never should've stayed on after half time.

This is what you get with Ole. One week we are smashing it and then you have days like today where the incompetence is for all the world to see.

I was 100% sure Fred would get sent off. I was calling for him to be subbed off after 30 minutes and at the half time at worst. Surprised to see Ole keep playing him. That was very poor management

managers make mistakes, as well as players. I won’t condone it, and you are right, we all saw it coming. However.

“get him of of my club”

this is a pathetic reaction, laughable even
Not really. I haven't flip flopped. That has been my stance for a while. I think he's a bum of a manager. Club legend though

United missed some sitters and should have won. Now it’s time to sack OLE again.

Did I say that? No. I said us missing the sitters has nothing to do with the braindead in game management.
Sure it does. The goals go in, none of this happens, and you go back in your box until the weekend.

We have a talented team with a limited manager. With Ole we won't go much further than where we are now.

Sure, we will win games, sure there's going to be dramatic & emotional results that are tied to his status as a former player.
But he's not a top manager, almost 2 years in and we have no identity, no established "best XI", no consistency and acceptance of poor results.
We rely too much on individual goals, penalties, and luck.

He should've been sacked over a year ago imo.

hindsight? Literally the entire cafe and twitter called it at HT.

We played well, and credit to the management and players for that. But even at 2-1 we’d have been in big trouble with 10 men.

It’s not a sackable offence, just daft, and may cost us dearly.

Also I said it again and again, people jumping on in matchday thread to reply on anyone blaming Ole by saying he's blameless and it's a fecking joke to blame him for the match shows clearly that there're some here whose priority is Ole more than the club, as ridiculous as it sounds. We can't be losing this and the only reaction some can bring is to hit at posters for blaming the manager. It shows some are in it just for the manager.

I was thinking Fred was going at halftime.

But then we started the second half superbly so I thought ok fair enough.

Maybe he should have taken him off, but the second half wouldn't have started so bright.

A bit harsh on here, we wasted good chances and Fred was silly, lucky and unlucky at the same time.

But their subs and formation change flipped the game, while Ole, as always, was too passive and let the game run away from him. His subs made no sense at all, Fergie would never take all his strikers off in a must game, or any attacking manager for that matter. He's an odd one, Ole.

Normally defend him, but 100% his fault tonight, first question for the post match interview “why did you leave Fred on when it was obvious he was going to get sent off?”

Cavani missed a one on one, Bruno had two one on ones and chose to pass both times. Everyone's finishing was poor. At least, unlike the others, Martial did well outside of that.

How did he allow fred to stay on the pitch for that long, such a poor decision in avoiding the inevitable of going down to 10 men in this match.
