This result puts a lot of pressure on the game in Germany. Now Rashford could be injured.

Should have seen this coming after the game on Sunday.

Sorry but that one is on Ole. We all said Fred should have been subbed at half time. It was a red card waiting to happen. Irrelevant score line after we went 2-1 down, always chasing the game. Lsts just move on.

We played quite well, I think we deserved a draw.

Unforgivable to leave Fred on the pitch.

Martial is not a top level player and never will be

If i close my eyes long enough, will we have a new manager in charge. I really cannot stand this tastless, draining, ambitionless, counter football directed by a guy people stick up for because he is a legend. 2 years in the job now, i still barely see any progress. This team should be playing much better. Fernandes is looking sloppy and consistently, pogba is a nobody, martial is still in lockdown, rashford still is poor at decisions, AWB cannot cross a ball or attack the line, maguire is as good as the next centre back yet he is undroppable. Give these players to someone else who understands football and not just football manager 2015, then we go places. Utterly disappointed because PSG are just an awful team with 2 world class forwards and 9 average players. We should have been able to play a reserve team next week, yet we won't get a break. Ole out, please!

Ironically the best way to describe that was probably that, as a team were decent but let down by individual errors: Ole, Fred, Martial have some apologising to do to the rest of the team.

We hung on in there in the first half when we got outplayed, got in at 1-1 and 11 men and took stock.

We then dominated the second half and produced enough chances to be out of sight, but squandered them through poor finishing and some bad final ball decisions. Then we concede another shit goal, Fred goes for an early bath and we're in a right mess. The Ole/players dichotomy from the Matchday Thread is ridiculous in my view; why not blame Ole for not removing Fred earlier (he could also have freshened the forward line up earlier than he did too) and blame Martial, Rashford and Bruno (in that order) for not killing the game?

There's plenty of blame to go around because we've thrown that one away. Getting outplayed is one thing but when you have the game in your grasp and release it through your own poor play/decisions it's just absolutely infuriating. If we fail to qualify we'll be looking at this and the Istanbul defeat as games emblematic of a team that is its own worst enemy when it comes to making good decisions and playing good football on a consistent basis.

How is this on Ole?
Because Martial couldn't finish easy chances?
Or because Fred was sent off for not-a-foul?
Everybody could see that Fred would eventually be send off, so sub him, I did not expect him back on the field the second half to be honest

Just bad luck.

We were excellent from the 15th minute onwards and deserved more from the game. Just the way it goes I guess.

Bring on Leipzig.

Martial missing another sitter has cost us again.
Yeah should have buried that and on another night Edinson's chip goes in too. The red card wasn't a surprise either because he should have gone for the headbutt.

I'm not angry, just disappointed.

We played well, created lots of chances and should have won. Fred needs to take some responsibility, he should never have done that stupid movement with his head at this level, especially against PSG who like to milk everything. He got a yellow through that, very early in the game, in a position that required him to be quick and interceptive... I'm amazed he wasn't brought off at half time but then again I think we probably needed his qualities.

The missed chances... my god, I had my head in my hands a number of times. The Martial one stung... then Cavani hitting the crossbar! At this level we need to be making these chances count... 3-1 flattered PSG really, they weren't all that.

That was on Ole. He is learning on the job but the Fred substitution was the most obvious decision he has missed in his time at the club.

Why we persisted with him when we had Pogba, VDB and Matic on the bench is stupid.

Also, Martial missing sitters is very concerning. Needs to clear his head.

De Gea 6 - not at fault for any of the goals and a smart save
Wan Bissaka 7 - solid defensively and contributed well in attack
Maguire 7 - Assured performance and rarely troubled
Lindelof 7 - Made some crucial interceptions
Telles 6 - Some good touches but looked vulnerable defensively at times
Fred 3 - Rash performance and a red card waiting to happen all night
McTominay 5 - Energetic performance but got skinned far too often
Bruno 5 - Not his best game and wasteful at times in possesion
Rashford 6 - Scored but offered little consistent threat, still dribbling too much
Martial 4 - Wasteful and a poor defensive contribution
Cavani 7 - Showed a lot of guile but didn't get his goal

Ole 4 - Everyone could see that Fred was a red card waiting to happen and changing him was surely necessary. We were unlucky overall, and it's our midfield and attack that let us down today.

Martial in the first half was worse than Greenwood was at the weekend but yet stayed on and it cost us the game. Fred was always going to get sent off if he wasn’t subbed off. OGS has a lot to answer for.

I think he believed we were on the front foot until the goal came.
Naive though isn't it

When everyone saw Fred is a walking red during half term, how can the manager not see it at such an important game

I just wish we had a manager who is proactive rather than reactive.

Taking Fred off at half time was the most obvious footballing decision a person would have to make.

A bit unlucky, draw would have been fair. Both sides hit the bar, created openings etc.

Can't believe people were so confident though, even with PSG's form. Tonight they HAD to win, so it was always going to be a tough match. That Istanbul result and performance could really come back to haunt us.

Btw, how did Fred stay on the pitch for so long??? McT did well after the first goal and Cavani really worked hard. Martial was poor :(
It's that Istanbul game that is the kick in the teeth. Sheer arrogance and incompetence cost us that game.

Ole's had a nightmare tonight. It could have worked out, we dominated after a rocky start, created plenty of chances and should have killed it off. How, between Ole, Carrick and O'Hara, they let Fred trot out at the start of ghe second half is beyond me. Some excellent performances tonight, I feel a bit sad about the whole thing. Pressure on for next week.

Terrible miss but he played three great through balls putting each of rashford, bruno and cavani through on goal, rashford and bruno both make a mess of theirs while cavani hit the bar.

Also martial had a great shot which forced the save we played from. He has been poor this season but thought he was ok tonight... bad miss apart.
He missed two sitters and was largely shite in the build up I thought. Just not at the races at all.

Ah, well, f*ck this shit; we are not even among the best 16 clubs in Europe. Even if we qualified by beating friggin' Leipzig. A Top side scores its chances and doesn't concede. This 1-3 is exactly where we are against the likes of PSG or Bayern.

We have done well with VDB starting so Ole decides to drop him. Martial straight back in the team but woefully off form. Fred should have been subbed at half time or soon after. I could go on but rant over. Lets hope our away form comes back in the Ch Lge as can see us back in the Europa.

Stupid and naive.

Fred should have been taken off and we should not have tried for the win at 1-1.

Fail to win at Leipzig and the whole coaching staff can go.

Never has there been more of a consensus on the caf than asking Ole to sub him out before the red card. We should all have put money on it.

I thought for the most part it was a good performance. The obvious thing that let us down was the finishing.

PSG are a top team theres no shame in losing to them its just frustrating since we could have had 3 or 4 goals before we fell apart.

At least it makes the last game more interesting it will be like a cup final im looking forward it!

Dig up stupid!
So frustrating.

Played well overall but Fred's brainfart cost us the game in the end however the loss is on the strikers for me. We should have been well ahead before the red card, you cannot miss chances like that at this level - it's unacceptable.

PSG shit housery off the scale as usual

The more I see teams with groups of players constantly surrounding the ref with no action taken...I think why don’t we do it.

Enjoyed the game.

Thought we played well.

They’re very good. Some of the footwork from their strikers is great.
Have to disagree.

Thought we played ok in patches against one of Europe's biggest bottle jobs. There for the taking, some great forward I grant you but an average team in average league we should be beating them.

Defeat snatched from the jaws of victory with poor management. Take Fred, off ride out the game and come away with a scrappy draw. This kind of poor management invites pressure now. He shouldn't risk big name players now against West Ham so we can goto Germany in decent nick. He maybe forced to now though. If we lose to Leipzig the only real route back into the Champions League next season will be via Automatic Qualification.

No doubt them c**nts from West Ham will play like Prime 70's Brazil on Saturday night.

Absolutely gutted. Been a while since I had a feeling of such disappointment. To play so well for so long and to lose 1-3 is incredible.

Martial missing those two big chances always felt like it could prove decisive.

Can’t shake the feeling that Tuchel kept looking to make changes to eventually win the game. Solskjaer in contrast was content to let it play out, even with fairly obvious changes to make to address the Fred risk and Martial’s obvious lack of confidence.

Harsh result. really should have won. Think Greenwood needs to start ahead of Martial. at first i thought Ole was crazy for not taking Fred off, but after his yellow in the first half United did boss the game until about the 68 minute mark. so many chances missed. At least Upacamo is out for the away game in week 6. and at least it is away.

Because nobody on the bench could do what he did tonight. We really needed him out there.
Hustle around looking busy while being a constant threat to the referee's pocketbook? He's the modern day Dennis Wise.

Unlucky tonight. I think Fred could have been subbed on 60 mins. Martial was wasteful. Some great footy from both teams. Neymar is a horrible child and I thought he should have been booked for constantly trying to manipulate the ref, he should be forced to wear a gag-ball. Still feel positive for Utd.

Very weird game.
Can’t understand why ref didn’t send off Fred for headbutt
Can’t understand why OGS didn’t take Fred off and replace with Matic or Donny. Ole dropped a big ball there.
2nd yellow on Fred was unfortunate.
Martial misses a complete sitter. Cavani should also have nailed his chip.

very frustrating loss as PSG aren’t great and were beatable.
