He deserves now a thread i think :)

Some stats
Age: 17
Appearances: 11
Goals: 3 (all of them in the Bundesliga)

I have already talked so much about him in a couple of other threads therefore i will not use more  for him in this thread :)

To score a goal after 4 minutes as substitute against Leipzig was amazing....but for me it was impressive that Flick brougt on Musiala came for the injured Martinez after 26 minutes and not Roca or Nianzou because they already have had Lewandowski, Müller, Coman, Sane & Goretzka on the pitch (So no defensive midfielder) and the opponent was of course Leipzig.

Just a few days ago he was impressive for 76 minutes against Atletico Madrid too.

If he keeps this level and plays so much minutes in the next few months then i'm sure Southgate will call him up for the World Cup qualifiers in March and then he should have a chance to be in the Euro squad too.

Couldn't he play the Olympics for Germany and then still be able to choose between both nations?

The frustration will be massive in few months if some germans are still thinking that he will play for Germany :)
I hate this so much I sort of want Flick to not play him anymore so that they don't develop someone who will eventually play for England  I would say Muller should do a job and recruit him, but how can he do that while that tw*t is still in charge

He looks technically great though, still a bit phsychically weak but that will develop with age.

I've only seen the goal against RB leipzig so I dont know much about him -

What type of player does he resemble in similarity? Does he look like a long term winger or a midfielder (CAM/CM)?

If he's eligible for Germany, he'll play for them once he's called up.

It's harder to make the Bayern first team than it is to make the German national team.

Exactly. The current situation means though he will be called up by Löw‘s successor.

Don't think that's true. German youth coaches have said that his mind is favoring towards playing for England and that they respect his decision.

Southgate will also likely call him up soon if he continues getting minutes for Bayern and that would seal it.

Was at Chelsea's academy from age 8 to 16.

Bayern got him for free, the bastards!
That’s on us - clearly we do not promote them soon enough - also we might stick too long to players with unfulfilled potential (Arsenal-like), e.g. Loftus Cheek?

Don't worry, his Bayern team mates will slowly convince him that playing for Germany would be the better option for his career.

They‘ve been trying for 18 months already. I always thought that he’d play for Germany but now I’m thinking he’ll stay with England. He seems to love playing for England more than most players.

He is about to mature. He will make a professional decision. No chance of silverware with England in his career time.
>30% chance for him becoming world or European champ with Germany.

Nah, this one was unavoidable. Can't blame the club for a 16 year old German kid from wanting to try his luck at Bayern Munich.

I seem to recall the Dutch Bayern youth player doing something similar last season in limited game time. What’s he up to now?

He is not the only one: Bright Arrey-Mbi.
The club needs to do better than that. We have educated two of the youngest debutantes ever for Bayern Munich, ffs

There's more academy kids in our first team and squad than ever before.

We're offering not just money but also for the first time in years a genuine chance of game time than I can remember.

Sometimes circumstances or opportunities come up that are almost unavoidable.

It's like with Lamptey, should we have dropped Reece James and Azpiliqueta for him? Right player at the wrong time. I don't blame Chelsea for him wanting to move.

Regarding Bayern, I would imagine their higher ups are taking a good look at why Chelsea's academy is producing more for them than their own. I guess it's cheaper to let someone else do the work and then cherry pick what they can, for free!

Laughable post. Especially after Germany’s latest result. Reads like you are about the same age of the player being discussed, hopefully you are about to mature as well.

Under the new rules, does it stop German clubs poaching your/our youth players the same way we cant sign European u18?
As much as i want to see all youth players leaving our rivals, just so we have a shot at signing them down the line, their smugness really annoys me.

He's not wrong, if we go by the history of both national teams.

Germany's international history: 4 WC wins (8 WC finals), 3 EC wins (6 EC finals)

England's international history: 1 WC win (1 WC final), 0 EC wins (0 EC finals)

I don't know why the English national team is so bad, given their talented players, but Germany (and Italy/Spain/France) historically just have a way better chance to actually win trophies.

I think Flick actually critisized Zirkzee for his mentality and workrate earlier this year and they want to transfer him to Köln (on loan) in January.

Either way, Musiala is just a way more talented footballer.

Zirkzee was lucky enough to just be in the right place at the right time for a couple of goals last year, but outside of that he was invisible the rest of his gametime.

With Musiala it's completely different. I re-watched their game last night, since they obviously played right when we played West Ham, and Musiala just stood out alongside Müller and Coman. He didn't just "play ok", he really was one of their best players. Very high football IQ, good decision making, great technique and workrate.

no one can prove he’s right, or wrong. That’s the point. Past performance is not an indicator of future success.

by your analysis, someone who plays for Celtic or Notts Forest is more likely to win the European Cup than if they play for City or Spurs.

Because Germanys last silverware was in the 80s , makes total sense.
so Denmark and Greece are more likely to win the Euro Championships than England. Makes sense. No title sense.

I’m not dismissive of anyone’s past achievements, but to use that to determine that England won’t win anything in the next 20 years, and that Germany have a 30% chance is so laughable.

Comparing apples with oranges.

Celtic or Nottingham just can't compete anymore, because they don't have nearly enough money, which wasn't an issue in the past.

With national teams money is irrelevant. You have your pool of players and pick the best. Nobody can buy your best players. Those circumstances have never changed and will never change.

For over 100 years now England has reached 1 international final, whereas Germany has reached 14 (!) finals.

They're just way more successful and have a better chance at winning titles. Nobody can deny that.

A successfull 60 year span to 2014 is no indicator ? If you say so. Lets agree to disagree, but don't just choose examples to fit your agenda and compare Germany to Nottingham and Greece.
I have no agenda. What could my agenda possibly be? when someone disagrees with you, it’s not by default they have an agenda.

It’s a simple point. determining that a country has zero chance of winning a trophy over the next 20 years is laughable. That you still can’t understand that concept tells me a lot.
