Mandatory option. Now there’s an oxymoron that should have been stamped out by UEFA for FFP purposes long ago.

Would be great if we could get this over with in january, and put the money towards a playmaking midfielder who can play in a two.

What do we have so many active threads for a squad player who doesn't want to be at the club and is on the way out?!

He'd be at Juve already if it wasn't for Covid. Will do better there, we'll be better without. He needs a slower paced league to get the best out of him and that's the main issue IMO.

50m would be great.

I think the way we play in midfield now needs s lot of high intensity pressing. He just doesn't seem suited to that imo, either because he's unable or unwilling. Either way it's a system that works for us by and large so that's not likely to change any time soon.

50m is a very good deal for us with all things considered, contract, form and covid

I actually cannot believe how angry I am at him for this

This is genuinely a season defining week for us. Chance to progress in CL and the derby on the weekend which could put distance between us and City and really put us in the mix at the top.

And he does this. Just fecking wait. Just do it behind closed doors. No issue with him wanting out, just don't be a colossal thundercnut.

I don't think it matters he said that today. Not in a negative way at least. He never felt like an important cog to the team this season. If anything, boys will have a point to prove this week.

€50m with bonuses is fine. If this goes through in January, I hope we reinvest them immediately in a RW or CDM.

Will he play tonight I wonder?
I'd back Ole sending a message that no one is bigger than the club and leaving him out of the team but its a crunch game and so much riding on it that I can see him getting the nod.

Such a shame this doesn't end well. He has all the tools and opportunities to be United great.

Sounds like the deal is probably in place already - especially with the bullish way Raiola is talking recently.

I think he's been waiting for the best time to stab Solskjaer with this, and chose the eve of the biggest game of our season so far. Bastard.

I think it's been obvious Pogba wanted out for a while but at least he's remained semi professional, but the agent is just a bad man.

Would he be ineligible to play for Juve against United in the latter stages of the Champions League? Is there any way for the club to waive restriction that so he can play?

He really doesn’t. He is missing mental drive, mental strength, professionalism amongst others. He has all the physical attributes and skills - no one questions those. Well, apart from the pace he tries to use those skills at.

Sorry but you really can’t absolve him of blame for his agents actions, Pogba employs him

Yeh. Maybe I should use "skills" instead of "tools".

Although Forlan kinda showed us that playing in the right League/team may give different result.

He don’t though. For a top professional in any sport morale, professionalism and dedication is essential. All the traits Pogba seriously lacks. He chose wrong people around him and that’s on him. It’s an early present for all of us following the club that the face of our last years of failure will be gone soon.

With Bruno bought it seems to have opened a lot of people’s eyes on what to expect of at top player.

I should caveat it by saying “..to be successful at Manchester United in the PL”

no doubt he’d look a player in the slower Italian or Spanish leagues

100% though it doesn't appear he's a problem in the changing room. With someone like Sanchez it seemed like no one really liked him at Arsenal or United.

How do you know Pogba seriously lacks in professionalism and dedication? We'll know these intangible things with how he fares on different team/League.

Exactly. For all these years we blamed the team around him for his inability to show his potential. Yet, Bruno came in and showed exactly what a top player can do with exactly the same players and there is not a huge difference between what Bruno and Pogba can do. Bruno just has it, Pogba doesn't.

And Bruno does this consistently, week in week out, without much of a rest. That's what a professional does.
