Just finished kingdom. Would highly recommend it. The acting by Jonathan tucker playing jay kulina was incredible at times.

The Undoing seems solid, Nicole Kidman and Hugh Grant

Similar vibe to Big Little Lies going on

Just finished it tonight. Not terrible but a pretty weak ending ultimately I felt. Though with crime shows like that the ending often is imo

I thought this was brilliant across the board to be honest. The pop singer was great too. And you can never get enough of Kiele Sanchez. I've forgotten character names now but the comedy dynamic between the fighter with Destroyer tattooed on him and his weird mate was also good.

Stumbled upon and greatly enjoyed, AlphaGo - The Movie:
With more board configurations than there are atoms in the universe, the ancient Chinese game of Go has long been considered a grand challenge for artificial intelligence. On March 9, 2016, the worlds of Go and artificial intelligence collided in South Korea for an extraordinary best-of-five-game competition, coined The DeepMind Challenge Match. Hundreds of millions of people around the world watched as a legendary Go master took on an unproven AI challenger for the first time in history.

Directed by Greg Kohs with an original score by Academy Award nominee, Hauschka, AlphaGo chronicles a journey from the halls of Oxford, through the backstreets of Bordeaux, past the coding terminals of Google DeepMind in London, and ultimately, to the seven-day tournament in Seoul. As the drama unfolds, more questions emerge: What can artificial intelligence reveal about a 3000-year-old game? What can it teach us about humanity?

If you enjoyed The Queens Gambit, I think you might also like this as there's a few similarities. It's available on YouTube.

Hands down the best TV show I've seen all year and in my top 10 of all time. This show is really amazing on several levels.
"tells a story of the web of consequences birthed among different families after three children accidentally film a murder "

Anyone that enjoyed Shoplifters (Jpn) or Parasite (Kor) should check out this show. Similar vibe. I'd call it a mix between noir and literary drama.
You have to sign up but the first month is free.

The Small Axe anthology is great so far. Lovers Rock was beautiful, with the Silly Games singalong being my favourite scene of the year.

Is Schitt's Creek any good?
We got recommended by a friend, so we started watching it. It is decent and gets better once you familiarise with the characters. We watch it if we're both home in the day and need to stick something on for 20 minutes during lunch. It's nothing special imo, but enjoyable enough for a light watch.

Yeah I would say if you enjoy silly American (well, this is Canadian) comedies like Parks and Rec or The Office (this is a few steps below both, though) it's worth a watch. It doesn't get really good til the third season but it's still a good way to spend 20 mins, the characters are really likable and a bit like Pawnee in Parks and Rec, they've built a town of funny side characters too.

As much as I'm enjoying Bosch, did the makers of the show have to get quite so many members of the cast from The Wire in?! It's like a weird homage gone too far. Just started S4 and see they've now slipped Clark Johnson in (the really good journalist guy from S5 of The Wire)! Jamie Hector (Marlo Stanfield) is fecking wicked in this to be fair though. Him and Amy Aquino (Lieutenant Grace Billets) are a nice tonic to Bosch's turtleisms.

Thanks guys, sounds perfect for a light watch over my lunch break or before bed! I'll give it a try.

The more Wire alum, the better. It's great to see so many Wire alum having great careers two decades later.

Apparently there are 9 members of The Wire cast in Bosch!! That's a little unusual... At some point it takes away rather than adds in my opinion.

There is actually 13 but many of them played minor roles in the Wire to the extent that not even a superfan like myself can recognize on sight so I don't feel its distracting at all.

The 30 minute Clark Johnson cameo felt a little tacked on and like they could have gone their own way with it. Hard to criticise the creators for being so wild about The Wire too much, though.

The guy who was Mac’s dad that never blinked in It’s Always Sunny was the distracting one.

Have you watched Gangs of London. Plenty of gangland violence but definitely worthy of watching.

White Wall, a mystery series about creepy stuff happening at a nuclear waste disposal site.
Just finished all 8 episodes of the first season, pretty good I must say. It' has a tiny bit of X-files and Twin Peaks vibe to it.
It's Finnish/Swedish co-production so not sure when it's available internationally.
