Everybody is currently turd besides Pool and Bayern
Pretty much

In fairness right now it does look the PL is waaaay better than the rest. Think it got to do with PL teams having better individual players on average which matters more in the current situation

We are amazing in Europe!
That's the problem: We have been great in Europe (two games so far), but not in our own league.

So far the only truly "great" teams have been Liverpool and Bayern.

4 CL games against the champions from Austria, Belgium, France and Ukraine: 4 wins and 17 goals.

Not so bad for a turd league, isn't it?

The 6 German Teams in Europe with 6 wins and 26-5 goals this week. 4 of them sitting in first place in their groups, 2 in second place.

2 Spanish, 2 Italian, 2 French, 1 English team (United) are in their groups. Out of those only United are currently ahead of their German competitor, level on points, but having won the head to head.

@TwoSheds any turd opinions to share? Nice counter jinx!!

Feel invited to check out Bayern v Dortmund tonight. Regardless of Bayern being the favorite, I'm sure it'll be a fun game. :)

Yep because both teams play silly high lines and rely on their firepower up top to get them over the line. Kevin Keegan football.

So exactly as I said, should be a fun game. Those tactics are apparently good enough to get some valuable points in the CL and EL games.

Also, as the Bundesliga has been responsible for one of the most famous tactical meta shifts in the last decade (Gegenpressing), I'd say the type of football is rather progressive while of course in execution being limited by the respective quality of the individual players. Which, as mentioned before, probably isn't near the average individual level in the PL, but is definitely good enough for the Bundesliga to play a great role in Europe.

How is pressing a new concept though?

Why do people even bother telling other guys which league is rubbish, I don’t get it really
I enjoy watching all of them , I get the point that some people think Bundesliga is a boring one horse race , so what ?
other German teams have proven themselves on international level aswell

so what is the Point , just enjoy the footy

Gegenpressing is a different tactical interpretation of it that turned into a defining tactical setup amongst many of the dominant teams of the last decade. Top coaches go into detail during training, margins like this make a big difference.
Who knew you might even learn a couple new things about footy today @TwoSheds ? :)

I can't remember why I joined this war.
this thread
I'm German and I don't watch the league that much anymore, simply because it's boring to only ever see Bayern win anything. But single games can still be very entertaining, simply due to the gung ho attacking play that so many teams have adopted.

The funny thing about this thread though is that it was made out of the anger of Dortmund daring to set a deadline for the Sancho deal and actually mean it.

When are we going to accept this truth? Bayern are the best team in world football, let's be clear about that. Dortmund and Leipzig are ok. The rest of the league is shit and make Dortmund and Leipzig look good. The French league is stronger than the German league, at what point does this become universally accepted?

There are lots of good players from the German league, but not many top class ones. Werner, Havertz, Brandt, Draxler, Upamecano, Konaté, Suele, Hummels etc - all the ones that got hyped, some of them are top 4 quality in the UK, but not really title winning quality. Exceptions outside of Bayern would be Haaland, Pulisic and maybe Sancho on a good day. Same goes for their managers outside of Klopp and Flick.
Cheers, mate.

*bump*

All 4 teams through to the round of 16.
Against opponents like Real, Inter, Atletico, Lazio, PSG and United.

Not bad for a turd league I guess ;)

That's true, but what's also true is that Dortmund and Gladbach have been turd this season (Gladbach in the last two matches).

Don't think they'll do further, Bayern and RB I would have more hope for.

Dortmund is top of their group and might get an easier opponent

Gladbach and Leipzig are likely to face Chelsea City Liverpool Juventus (Madrid/PSG)

Say as much shit as you want, but give respect to that guy's name. He's a World Cup winner and a world class CB at his peak.

I don't think any opponent will be 'easy' for Dortmund. They struggled against Lazio and Zenit in the group stage.

RB have that surprise factor with Nagelsmann, so I have now hope for them.

Hummels - Subotic was one of my favorite CB duo's.
Subotic was their Lenglet. A bang average player that looked good because he played next to a beast that made him look good

This Dortmund team is really weird. On their day they can be a serious threat to anyone, but on another day they lose against a small team.

They definitely need Haaland to put on a challenge, though.
