What's his problem with Ozil anyway? He's been cut from the team, and ostracised by the manager and he can't sign for another club until January at least?

Next 4 fixtures are Southhampton - Everton - City (FA Cup) - Chelsea.

I genuinely can't see them winning any of them, they won't get relegated as hilarious as that would be but will Arteta even make it to the Chelsea game at this rate ? I hope so

Arsenal is the premier leagues Schalke.

Depressing and sad to watch that bunch. Losing themselves in complete laughter and irrelevance. Back in the day those 2 regularly played CL.

They made a human sacrifice to beat us at OT didn't they? 1 point from a possible 15 after that. 1 goal from 5 league games after that.

That is the stats of a club getting relegated.

Wenger and Ozil are somewhere laughing their heads off at this.

I feared relegation last season for a while. However, we managed to turn it around.

This season, we look worse. There is no fight/desire in the team.

Apart from Sheffield United, we are playing like the worst team in the division at the moment. Truly shambolic stuff.

It’s really something that all the other top teams bar Spurs are under par/stagnant, but Arsenal are still managing to be that much worse than the rest of them.

This is literal relegation form, and had Pogba not given away that penalty they may actually have been in the relegation spots right now. How long is this Arteta debacle going to continue for?

Will take any points we can get at the moment. However, I really don't see us picking any up in our current form without drastic changes.

Ings is going to be a nightmare for us on Wednesday.

I really do believe this season is a race to 40 points for us.

Absolute mess. One thing Arsenal always had going for them regardless of results was entertaining football, they’re one of the worst sides in the league who create next to nothing now.

Remember when they all wanted Wenger out even though he got top 4 every season, won a decent number of cups and played attacking football....million miles away from where they are now.

Oh come on, you'll get to 40 easily. As for Wed, glad that we are playing you now.

I switch between being optimistically pessimistic and pessimistically optimistic.

In the last 5 games only Sheffield United (5L) have a worse record than Arsenal (4L 1D)

I understand the hype for Saka, Martinelli & Smith-Rowe. But I really don’t see anything in Willock.

Arsenal fans, what does he offer? Every time I watch him he looks sub-Prem level.

You're right. Willock is a squad player at best and Nketiah is not good enough even for this Arsenal squad.

He’s a good athlete, has great attacking movement and an ok touch. Means he has the potential to score or create in effectively every game he plays. Very similar style of player to Ramsey, with much worse technique.

But given how inconsistent his touch is, he can look dreadful if he messes up those 2-3 chances he gets each game. Is also completely unsuited to playing deep, so it just doesn’t work if he plays in a midfield two. Again, much like Ramsey.

Leno
New RB New CB Gabriel Tierney
Partey
New CM New CM
Saka Aubameyang Martinelli
4 signings away from having something resembling a good starting eleven that could challenge for top 4. I would argue that they probably need more like 7 or 8 signings when you factor in squad depth though.

They need to look at making more Gabriel/Tierney type signings, and less Luiz & Willian’s. There’s something very dodgy going on with Edu & that Kia fella though. I don’t think their transfers are solely about what a player can do on the pitch, seems to be a lot about greasing people’s pockets...

And when you factor in the next CM they buy will most likely be an overpriced flop. That’s the problem. Every team is only 4 signings away from being a top side if they are 4 good signings.

partey has started 2 matches and Martinelli just one this season. Let's see the first team play together for some time before deciding who else is needed.

That new starting CB was supposed to be Saliba and should be bedded in by now, instead we have Mustafi and Chambers on the bench...
Those 2 CM are what are really needed, Rb is fine with Bellerin/AMN.

Wouldn't be surprised if this victory is another false dawn. Chelsea were horrendous today and had they been more adventurous arsenal could have been in trouble. Next 2 games are must win for them.

Indeed. A daft penalty, once a season free kick and fluke cross are hardly omens of a corner being turned against a rubbish Chelsea perormance. But if it keeps Arteta in place a while longer its very welcome.

He's completed 90 mins twice I think. I know we love to judge players really early on here but give the guy a chance!
I'll give him a chance but it was more people overrating him than anything else. As if he's cemented as a top CM when to me he's looked alright and has it all to do.

Fair do's. I'm not going to make any bold predictions about him, only to say that he has a wealth of attributes which we lack, but that's more to do with our poor team building in the past more than anything else.

He's played that little, that if we can get him fully in the new year, he'll be like a January signing.

I agree on this. Consistency is always the key here. Academy players that arsenal fielded yesterday tend to give it all with passion and worked out well in few games but doesn’t mean it will work out every games.

We did the similar thing beating arsenal 3-2 on rashford pl debut playing Rashford, varela and lingard. No Smalling, martial & Rooney. But we still finished our season outside top 4.
