Unlikely to happen but what if we could agree a deal in Jan for the summer to get Ramos for a couple of years.

Feel like Cavani his leadership and experience could be huge whilst allowing those two to keep developing.
Ramos has used us to get a better contract in the past and Ed was stupid enough to fall for it, so it's a no from me. But otherwise I agree that an older head would do some of the younger guys a lot of good. I seem to remember that Blanc is credited with helping out Brown or was it Evans?
Anyway, that player could have been Thiago Silva? I can't think of any top defenders who would be available soon and play that role. Pique?

Saying that, I think we should concentrate on player sales, which will probably be impossible considering the current climate.
Is Lingard even injured or just dropped? There were talks of selling him, then he came back like a new signing(!) and now he's not even playing. Wasn't Rojo going to be our midfield general?

Yes. If we get the proper players. For CDM I'd say we should get a DM with Mctominay's mobility, tenacity and ability todeal with the press combined with good passing ability like Pogba. Kalvin Phillips will be my choice.

For CB there are quite a number of fast CBs like Badiashile Torres Upamecano Konate etc but I'm not sure if they are good enough yet to transform our defense. I'd pick Kounde because I was very impressed by him in the Europa league
Kounde seems like a pretty natural fit as Maguire's partner or in a 3 man defense with 2 of Shaw, Maguire and Lindelof to his left.

I too have gone crazy for Kalvin Phillips. Was really good against Chelsea again until about the 70-75 minute marl when his legs gave out, but McTominay coming on for 15 minutes at the end of games is fine to sit on a lead. He marked Havertz well, which meant he didn't have a ton of the ball (was marked tight when they won it back) but they did well overall in midfield and he wants the ball constantly, which we need badly in that part of the pitch with only Maguire up to it on good days, Telles and Lindelof just being okay and then Wan-Bissaka not so good at passing into midfield/attack. Henderson looks a much better short passer than De Gea, that might help too, though even with those 2 in we probably need another RB or a CB who can proper play.

I like Ricardo Pereira, think his style and strengths suits us better than a player like AWB. Pereira would unfortunately cost a fortune since he is one of Leicesters best players when fully fit but there must be more rb`s out there with similar qualities. Should be our priority right now since AWB seems to be an easy target for more and more teams.

Get rid of Pogba and throw in Telles while we are at it and we might get a decent price.
The usual suspects have to go but which club in their right mind would want them.

Trippier rumours are heating up. He must be unsettled in Spain. Think he'd definitely improve us.

Also talk of us trying to get Evans back in January. He has 6 months left on his deal so Leicester might be forced into letting him go. Not a long term solution granted but he's definitely good enough to start for us. Thiago Silva is 3 years older than he is too so it's never too late. LVG letting him go and we have barely bought a CB who is better since he left which says a lot.

I'd rather get Saliba off of Arsenal than Evans. I have no idea what's going on there, but he was class at Saint-e and we were interested before supposedly.

Loan for Dele Alli?

Kalvin Phillips at CDM for me with Fred's mobility could be a great base for Bruno.

Take Anguissa too, looked great today, mobile, strong on the ball.

Cant see a lot happening in January but we still have to focus on out-goings.

We have so many players who do not even feature that have to be sold permanently. It can't be good for the squad to have so many bodies around who simply do not contribute, that and Pogba's situation can't make it a harmonious camp.

Jones/Rojo/Lingard/Ighalo need to go ASAP. Pogba too, but that's a saga for the summer I think.

We certainly need the following within the next 2 windows:
CB
DM
CM/AM
CF

I think it will be more getting shut of the likes of Jones/Rojo/Romero. Ighalo will go back to China. He might as well gone back in the summer and saved the 200k a week wages.

Lingard has to leave too, he's barely made any matchday squads.

I don't think Ole will let Pogba go in Jan. Wouldn't surprise me if he is offered a new deal.

Especially not on fecking loan! And it would be depressing as hell but I wouldn't be surprised either. Just some brilliant negotiation tactics from his agent, and Pogba ends up getting a nice wage increase and assured belly rubs that no manager will ever be mean to him again! If he wants to play, he starts!

Even if he has an infectious disease and is barely fit? He starts!

And Bruno can F off from taking free-kicks, whilst we're at it. It's in the contract that Paul gets every deadball he fancies.

We do have a massive issue with Pogba.

Teams cant afford what we would ideally want for him - with covid, his contract expiry and his piss poor form his value has decreased. We will want what we paid for him (unrealistic) whereas his value is probably around the 50mil mark. We need to take it.

If we give him a bumper new deal we are the biggest laughing stock in world football, but I reckon we will because we are run by absolute idiots

Catch 22. He's good for shirt sales but a massive issue on the pitch and in the dressing room. Just hope Madrid take a loan out and pay up for him, we will be so much better off with him out of our club asap

Woody said we have funds available, but i am not to optimistic

Ideal:
Out: Pogba (60 million), Lingard (10), Jones (10), Romero (10), James on loan, 90 million in
In: Quality DM (60) , Haaland (120) 180 million out, 90 million net spend

What will probably happen:
Out: No one
In: No one. Do we even have our eyes on some realistic targets?

 We are getting £30m for Jones, Lingard & Romero?
Who is this quality DM for £60m?
Who in this climate is paying £60m for Pogba when his form is poor, he is known to want to leave and only has just over a year on his contract?

Some people really don't get how this works..

 We ain’t spending 180m in the January window. We may get 1 player innit doubtful it’ll be anyone of serious intent.

secondly, no one is going to splash 60m on Pogba now, not when they can get him for 50m or less in the summer as his contract runs down

Wait... what? I know we have all become a bit jaded with our transfers of late what with them usually having a pretty low success rate, but this is a tad extreme.

To me it's impossible to win the title with Lindelof & Maguire. They have weakness that don't compliment each other. We need a new centre back that dominant and quick to pair with them in January if we want to increase our chance to win the league this season.

A DM and a RW is nice but we can still win the league without them but not with our pair of centre back.

Would like to see us bring in Ben White because looks like a leader and reckon he can actually meet the ball on corners, in regards to a RW I am still all for giving Diallo a chance to prove himself and still harbor hopes that eventually we will play with just one DM rather than two and hopefully it could be Zakaria. I like both Phillips & Rice but cannot see Kalvin leaving Leeds at the moment and think Declan is Chelsea bound when he gets tired of anchoring that West Ham midfield

January deals:
1. Phil Jones gets additional two years added to his contract and 20% salary increase to cover his medical bills
2. We sign Pogba at 500,000/week for 5 years
3. Mata and Matic get extensions too.

We shouldn't just presume that none of our top CB, DM, & RB targets are going to be available in January, that article from MEN feels a bit defeatist in our hopes of signing anyone.

Need to be at least enquiring about the likes of Zakaria, Trippier maybe even White next month. I will admit there is no chance of Rice/Phillips, Varane though.

Why would any of the players move in January? Most are involved in the UCL

Losing to Comeback Winning!
I doubt we're buying any new players this Jan.

Except for giving players new contracts "It's like new signings!"

Diallo finally join right?
Then similar to VDB, Ole will say "you're insulting Diallo and players we have" if you doubt and question "is that enough?" bs.

Can see 2-5 players leaving, other than Ighalo. On loans and permanently.

I don't see us making any signings here. Hopefully we can at least move on one or more of Jones, Lingard, Rojo, Romero and resolve the work permit issue with Diallo.
