Should have been our regular starter after Paris.
Maguire and Lindelof are both slow, dont complement each other and all and its a major weakness we have. Instead Tuanzebe barely got any minutes after the Paris game.
The lad has to start and be given a run of games
Which means Maguire or Lindelof need to sit out

Thought he looked sluggish and uncomfortable with the ball.

As others stated, was infuriating when he kicked the ball away.

Did you miss his performance against PSG? There's a good player in there but it doesn't help he makes an odd cameo every so often. He needs games and time to grow. You can't write him off.
I did and he was superb but everytime I have seen him since he has looked dog dirt.

He looked simultaneously both quite nervous and almost negligently blasé on the ball. Strange combo.

He started the next CL game but was not so good and subbed at half time. He is clearly a level below Lindelof and Maguire and with the pressure now to win every game in the PL, I think he will find it hard to get minutes as long as they are fit enough to play.

Ridiculous to say he is shite based on that but it was a bad performance. Such a strange time to bring him on given he hadnt played much recently

Needs regular football now. He's got the talent but needs consistency.

I think this is his last chance to really make it here.

Why can't Ole change things in this defence. We look slow as feck in every game defensively, stops us from playing on the front foot from minute 1.

We still end up conceding in the first 30 mins and have to open up in the second half anyway.

The problem with our defence is that there is 0 aggression. They all prefer to jockey and never press the players.

Its about time he gets 5 games on the bounce, if he isnt good enough then we can cross him of the list. Him being there on the subs is pointless because we have no idea if he will ever make it or not?

We know Lindelof and Maguire cannot be a partnership, why do we continue playing that?

wont say i am a massive fan to be ho nest, did have that great game v PSG, was poor in few other games he played, but now he must be giving a chance, 10 games on the trot see what hes made of, would just be who actually partners him now as none fill me with confidence.

Four straight PL wins. Why would he gamble 5 matches when he’s winning matches with current CBs? I doubt he will.

Honestly don't rate this lad, physically he's there but another chicken headed CB like Bailly.

That being said, perhaps we should give him a run of 10 games so we finally write him off as another failed prospect instead of keeping him around hoping he'll magically come good one day by sitting on bench.

Can you be our manager please? You sound more intelligent than Ole.
That is one of the key issues with the team. Its why we need to play 2 DM's most of the time.

Well, he’s getting more minutes now that we are in EL. This year will be his final year to make conclusion whether he will take the regular spot or no. I don’t want us to give him another year because we do need another dominant with pace centre back to compliment either Maguire or Lindelof. Maguire & Lindelof are just not a good pair together.

We all know he was about to take a spot fromshocking Lindelof but then got injured, and then he had some more injuries, but I still don´t get it Lindelof should be ahead of him. Let´s play Axel now he´s fit and see if he can stay fit for starters and then if he can iron our some little mistakes there can be in him. You know imagine you get some 70 games under your belt like Lindelof and be worse than him... By the end of last season we will have known if we need an extra CB or rather two or what profile of CB to aim for.

Pecking order for the next season should be 1) Maguire 2) New CB 3) Tuanzebe 4) Lindelof 5 ) Mengi

Get finally rid of Bailly, Jones, and Rojo and we are suddenly in a decent CB situation i nterms of salary balance and quality in depth

Tuanzebe should play over Lindelof cuz stylistically he fits Maguire a lot better so you might develop something there. With Lindelof and Maguire they bring the worst out of each other and you know theres nothing there.
Plus if Maguire is our prized possession doesnt it make sense to try to get the best out of him?

It would be stupid to give up PL just to test Tuanzebe. He is clearly a level below Lindelof/Maguire. They have not been great so far, but still we have only lost two PL games with them as CBs this season.

He needs to earn his spot. He gets minutes when we face weaker sides and if he performs well he get trusted with bigger matches. That’s how it works. He has been given time, but he has not performed well. He was, like everybody else, good vs PSG. In that match he had a clear task in a defence consisting of 8 defensive players. When he got the chance vs a weaker team, Basaksehir, he also got a bigger, more complex and more complicated task. He was not good enough to handle that task. Simple as that. He got the chance again against the same team, and did not really perform very well there either. All the talk that he would be the perfect partner for Maguire; in those two matches they seemed to be an awful pair. At the same time Lindelof, who most people think he’ll replace, has performed pretty well in the PL and we have four PL wins in a row and only one loss the last 7 games.

Tuanzebe and Lindelof will be a good partnership. Maguire is just not good enough and apparently he is a leader that never marshals the defense.

Agree with this completely. Lindelof isnt it. Not saying Maguire is it, but no way he getting dropped based on pricetag so we someone faster and more athletic next to him. Tuanzebe needs to be starting. If he doesn't work out, so be it and we can a new CB

Don’t understand. Comes back from months out and dominates PSG. Then hardly even making the bench. Very odd.

Feel for him because think he won Ole's trust in Paris but then lost it again after the game in Turkey

Not much you can expect when young player like him is injured this often. See Shaw, Jones, and Bailly. It is extremely stupid to have him as our main backup CB.

If he’s injured again I’d imagine that’s him blown his chances at 3rd choice CB.

He’s never fit. What use is that to us.

I've looked through some of the news reports, and I can't see where it says Axel is injured. In fact it states that Eric and Axel are available for the Leeds game.

Promising but he's been stagnated for the past 3 years, spends more time injured than fit. Sorry for the lad but we should move on, he's already 23 so not really a youngster anymore.

He was absolutely world class vs Mbappe and Neymar, the best in the world along with Ronaldo and Messi.
He needs opportunities. Definitely not giving up on him.

He had a great game but then looked poor as feck against Istanbul. Im not saying he doesn't got the required potential but what use is it if he's always injured? He can't be relied upon.

Let's maybe wait until he's actually confirmed to be out for a period to say he's too injury prone to have a future, rather than not making the bench for a match due to a niggle.
