I'm waiting to start the second season, but I might forego signing a defender for another season and partner Lindelof and Tuanzebe, or sign Garcia on a free, but more likely I'm looking to wait for someone better in the air, with pace. Gvardiol, Kounde and Milenkovic are targets, but Milenkovic is PSG-bound. Bastoni looks good but they want 70m from me, same for Kounde.

I had a bug on fm20 were Martial scored against me in the 90+4 minute, assisted by Lindelof but Lindelof had been sent off in the 90+2 minute, last time I played fm20
This Charlton save is really fecking me off atm. The team was on a real high coming in to the new year in my first season, everyone's playing well and I'm usually 6-7 points clear at the top after every round. Then all of a sudden all the teams in the bottom half of the table begin to take points off us and confidence hits rock bottom, mistakes being made every game, can't even string 2 passes before aimlessly booting the ball down field. I'm somehow still 4 points clear of 2nd and 8 off 3rd but after a couple draws and losses to poor sides I'm genuinely worried I'll finish in the playoffs and get knocked out! None of the changes I'm making in-game seem to affect anything, I've got 3 important first teamers jaded from being over-played cos I've got injuries to their counter-parts in a paper thin squad...

I quickly realised during that downturn that this is one pussy group of players that unless I hold their hand reassuringly - even if I have to blatantly lie about the reality of a situation - the dressing room atmosphere will capitulate and with that, every ounce of footballing ability. I threw a bottle in the changing room once or twice and was honest in the media [feel like I went Mourinho mode...but tbh it's how I felt and I'd rather play this way than always try get the best results being a robot] - BOOM:
Started giving them all hugs and kisses again, telling them I'm delighted and they're doing brilliantly - when they're absolutely not - and we started scraping a few 1-nills which fortunately was enough to only need 3/12 points to secure the title!! I call a team meeting, everyone's positive. I let them know that a result in the next game wins us the title and that I expect them to go out there and do it [paraphrasing here but something along those lines] and lord help me feck, they're angry and furious. Apparently they've done well to get this far and it's unfair for me to expect them to win the title - EVEN IN THE POSITION WE'RE IN. I thought feck this and insisted in my view.
Fortunately once again, results elsewhere meant it wasn't as nail biting as it could have been.
After all that bullshit at the end tbh I seriously wanted to get away from this club but there aren't really any decent jobs going atm, finally gives me a decent bit of change [7mill] after 0 last year, so I start looking at the squad to see what I should prioritise.
When I interviewed for Lazio I said I wouldn't need to change the staff. Now I'm here there's no HOYD, not enough scouts and not enough coaches. Found some really great ones but the board is blocking them because I promised no staff changes. So dumb.

I don’t give AM responsibility to hold talks but usually choose his suggestion before the match. Half time talk: if we lead by 1-2 goals , I tell players to not get carried away. If we lead by 3+, I praise (applies for FM21 only). If we lose or draw - not happy. Derby or important game - I use more extreme options like kicking the bottle.

It's just I always use the same options for different situations, so it might as well be an algorithm doing the selection. Which means I might save a bit of time if the assistant manager can do it just as well.

As I learned mate, pick the wrong one a couple times and form goes out the arena!
A lot of it also depends on player personality traits too I realised. In the United save I would challenge them a lot more, rage out at losses and they'd be inspired and focused. At Charlton however they all got demotivated and just shrank the moment I deviated from encouraging them.
Decided to go with Arsenal.... going to play 3 at the back with them in the first season. Contemplating bringing in Rice if I can get enough funds together, and playing him in the middle of the back 3.

First transfer window with Lazio. Goalkeepers were awful when I took over and the CBs were lacking. Badiashile is an an initial 41m rising to 61m. Frimpong looks decent too and is only 21. Dahoud is there for cover as I ran out of money.
I hate it when they fail to realise you strengthened the position or replaced a player before you sold a player. So you have to try and sign another player in that position to calm them down
It's so silly. I signed Havertz late in a window in FM20 and he wanted me to strengthen midfield. That was the first time I saw that promise so I was thinking I had another transfer window to do it. Nope. He handed in a transfer request because I didn't sign a midfielder. Nevermind I already had Pogba, Bruno, Henrique, Havertz himself, Ilaix Moriba, Thiago Almada as upcoming players and plenty of wingers as well. Ridiculous.
I've just pulled off an absolute miracle in the Champions League. Playing with my Wien team we lost the fist three group games and I pretty much had no hope. We then managed to beat Benfica on match day 4, then draw with Arsenal and needing a win away to Lazio we somehow managed to pull it off despite going 1-0 down early. This might just be one of my greatest ever achievements on FM getting out of this group. I'm stunned!

That's actually a great way to end goal droughts too isn't it, one thing for sure I am not going Mourinho mode in this game again. When things begin to go bad like that it really snowballs and you just not sure where it's going to pick up again.

Scoring a hattrick on 3 shots (the only 3 his team had in the game), 2 of which were full volleys into the top corner on over the shoulder passes of 40 yards+. Since greyed out players have no stats I am assuming both his technique and finishing rating were 37 out of 20.
Immobile was absolutely immense. He scored 46 goals this season.

I know that every year people bitch and moan about super keepers and smash and grabs, but I think I just had my worst experience ever. I wish I had not rage deleted my save so I could have shown the screen shot. I just lost 1 - 0 to Fulham in the league at home. Makes sense if this was real life, but this was FM. Fulham had 1 shot (total) all game, the goal which came from a 35 yard screamer from that Decorative-Reedguy. Uts had 35 shots, 20 on target. xG was 6.something. Greenwood had 3 1v1's, Rashford had 2 and only one shot was even on target. Areola had a rating of about 15.5 out of 10. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.
As an aside, are they ever going to fix the 2v1 but never squares the ball thing. Drives me insane.
