If I was the board, you with double down and back him this January or you sack the poor lad after the Chelsea game to give the new manager a chance of a somewhat decent start to his Arsenal career.

He must be talking about xG or something. Looking at the specific games he mentions the scores were as follows (xG in parathesis):
Everton 2 (0.66) - 1 (1.25) Arsenal
Arsenal 0 (1.85) - 1 (0.85) Burnley
Spurs 2 (0.39) - 0 (0.60) Arsenal
All it really shows is the value of xG as a stat.
First time hearing him talk and it's more obvious than ever why they're in trouble. I kinda feel sorry for him.
Since the October international break Arsenal are rock bottom of the league in goals scored, shooting accuracy and shot conversion and second from bottom in shots on target. So unlucky! 
I was hoping for something more sophisticated. He looks like he's been poring over excel all night. He can't just be looking at XG surely?
Can you get his percentages from those xg figures?. How do work out the 7% chance to lose against Spurs for example?
But what's the 67% chance based on is the question?

It might be well be more sophisticated - it was just speculation from my side. He mentions something about 'any PL game in history', so the logic may be something like 'if a team wins xG by +1, they only lose the actual game 3% of the time' (using the Burnley example).
But other factors could be in play, such as timing of the goals, home vs. away, etc.
I will never understand why managers say that stuff. It just opens them up to ridicule. No one in the general public (especially Arsenal fans) cares that Arsenal had a 67% chance to win against Everton, they care that they lost.
Viera maybe a ledge but one year at the MLS and 30 months at Nice.... not sure he has the experience to dig them out of the hole.
I would go for Eddie Howe but based on the presser, sounds like Edu is going to double down on Arteta.
But with such a brutal February, I suspect he will be sacked by March and someone like a Guus come in for a few months to steady the ship.

He's 110% a perfect fit manager for Arsenal and AFTV. Can't get a more on point appointment.

If you took Arteta and Arsenal out of the consideration and just looked at the league results and table, most would agree the manager of a team in such a prolonged run of form must go. Arteta might turn out to be great manager eventually but right now he's leading Arsenal down a dangerous road.
The problem with Arteta is that he has no track record to speak of, so we have no idea if he has it in him to not only turn it around but to be an actual good manager at this level in a general. That's the risk we all took when we hired former players who are complete rookies. Arsenal is a mess from top to bottom though, and it's hard to completely fault Arteta but he has made some utterly bizarre decisions that, imo, are huge red flags anyway.

Mikel Arteta is learning the HARD way that there is a HUGE difference between a coach and a manager.
Ole may not know Pep level tactics/coaching but he can manage egos better than many in the league. Arteta chooses to kick them out of the team. Eg Ozil, Saliba.
This was Sir Alex’s key strength. He was the greatest man manager of all time. Tactically he was no genius. He was just the greatest motivator around. He just hired some great coaches : Kidd, Mclaren, Quieroz

I would pay good money to see it myself mate. Sadly the businessmen in charge won't let it happen. There would have to be an absolute catastrophic series of events for them to fully implode and go down sadly.

The biggest problem for arsenal will be if indeed they do get stuck there post january maybe even with a new manager is these players DO NOT have the fight to deal with a slog of a relegation battle and the only thing that would save them would be if their is 3 even worse teams

Wow this is a proper breakdown here.
The biggest problem they have is that they are effectively acknowledging the possibility of relegation.
They should not do that under any circumstance IMO. It's far too early to think like that. There are 24 games remaining. It's the absolute worst thing they could do right now, sowing the seed of doubt in the players minds.
Do we reckon Arteta will go crawling back to Pep after this then or what?
