El Chiringuito claiming Pochettino will sign on as Barcelona coach in the next 72 hours.

I don't see how Poch will execute his ideas with a geriatric squad but good luck to him. If Victor Font wins the next elections he'll be out in a year anyway so he may as well.

Isn’t their next manager meant to be little more than a stopgap until Xavi takes over in 21/22? I was under the impression the presidential candidate who outlined their intention of hiring Xavi as manager was going to win, for that particular reason. Any Barca fans able to fill us in with a little more accuracy?

They are all in hiding or buying Munich shirts this morning.

That's pretty much the lay of the land. If/when Victor Font wins the election ( an election that should be this year instead of next year) Xavi will be Barcelona's manager.

Whoever they sign needs to be given a couple of seasons to clear out the deadwood. Behind the scenes they need fresh leadership.

Don't see it happening, bit of a mismatch in philosophy and style. He is a my way or the highway kind of coach, don't see that flying with a team full of super stars when Pochettino has won nothing of note.

Pochettino is all about high energy high octane press from the front football, wing backs pushed right up, the CB's standing almost on the halfway line. And he is great at building a young side, not coming into a squad full of ageing super stars who are probably not going to be interested in his rumoured punishing training regime.

Thought he was at his level at Spurs and they should have backed him with a clear out of the players who had been there for a long time and had lost interest in the project.

Didnt Pochettino also say something about never managing Barcelona because he is Espanyol through and through and he would see it as a betrayal?

if they back him, he is a good choice. But if nothing else happens and they don't make changes on and off the pitch, then they could hire whoever they want, nothing will change.

I'm honestly not a fan of his football. It's not bad, but there's managers out there who play a much more aesthetically pleasing brand of football. That's the ones we should go for

I think he produces a well coached team but not necessarily and a team that plays attractive football on a consistent basis. He shouldn't be United's first choice should they part ways with Solskjaer at some point next season and I think he'd be a tough sell for Barcelona.

Yup. Marca has collected together the offending quotes:

The Madrid media already stirring the pot. You love to see it.

I know we complain about media bias in this country but Real Madrid literally control the most popular sport newspaper in Spain, must be infuriating for rival supporters there.

What more proof do we require that we have jokers at the helm. A manager of Poch's calibre is available and we are happy to continue with mediocrity.

If you beat PSG I think Tuchel will be gone, yes they are top of the league but they are in a dreadful run of form, Poch will be their target I would say.

Read somewhere that Psg won't sack him because if they do they'd have to pay 20m and they don't have that luxury right now so would just wait till end of the season when his contact expires

Same as klopp case when he was available we put trust in LV. I wish we never regret these weeks hesitation.

Zidane just said that he will not resign. I am really curious how long Real will wait to fire him.

So happy that Poch will be off the table soon, a true relief. Very intrigued to see how he'll do at a top club, and it not be us.
Are you prepared for the utter pant-wetting meltdowns if he does well?

When he wins the champions league I'm going to come to your house and say I told you so.

PM your address so I know where to go.

He is expected to do well, this is his level. He'd become a laughing stock if he doesn't. Even Steve Bruce has pulled off quite a few upsets with them.

We have let another top manager pass us by. I hope we don't live to regret this decision. Ole surely has to get us some trophy this year.

Imagine if he fails to win the French league with PSG. Not sure how his fan club and one member in particular will spin that.

Is this now where Ole goes on an horrendous run, gets sacked and both Poch and TT have been snapped up so we end up with Graham Potter?

Perhaps this is where we get ourselves into a title race and thank our lucky stars that the club didn't listen to the minority of kneejerkers who wanted us to abandon the current project in the summer and start all over yet again.
