Bryan Cranston stars as a judge confronting his convictions when his son is involved in a hit and run that embroils an organised crime family. He faces impossible choices and discovers how far a father will go to save his son's life.

Only three episodes out thus far, but user scores are very good on this one. It's Cranston, so, it's always worth the shot!

That's a great cast. Will definitely give it a watch

Cranston really hasn't done that much great if you take out his comedic chops in Malcolm and his dramatic chops in Breaking.... so not sure why anything with him is "always" worth a shot. A good actor can't fix middle level writing - which seems to be the case here.

I really liked his performance in Wakefield, I thought that was a little gem.

I mean he did them both for years, definitely makes it always worth it imo.

That’s a bit harsh, he was excellent in Trumbo (mediocre film) and has
Been good in a few others. The two shows were long running too and I think a lot of actors would be hampered if
You took out two massive prudxtions

I
Agree that a good actor doesn’t mean
That much regarding the quality of the show, for me direction and writing will tak em precedence when defidimf

It's not harsh, I don't think his hit rate for picking/choosing good scripts is all that good, like well below 50%. Doesn't mean he's not mostly decent, but being decent in a bad film is a bit trivial.

Then again, I'd not look out for a film or show based on who's in it really - more who the creators are.

Don't waste your time. The first episode is good but it just turns into the silliest pile of shite as it goes along and the son is one of the worst TV characters in living memory.

It's terrible. Starts well and looks like it'll have an interesting plotline, but gets more ridiculous as it goes on.

I heard its a waste of Cranston (though I agree with @Zen - outside of two long term properties, hes been in a lot of duds or has not been wise with choosing scripts).
And that the kid is really really annoying and spoils things (but again, could be script??)

Thought it was generally decent and didn't regret having had watched it, but the shit horror film levels of characters doing stupid things to further the plot got pretty grating after a bit. Felt like there were about four separate instances of one character calling another with some vitally urgent information of some kind, or to stop them walking into a bad situation, for the other one to ignore their phone every single fecking time.

The ending with pretty much all tension and drama built up being rendered worthless because the fecking kid basically dies by accident was shit as well.

Started well but got boring and a bit silly. I'm just over half way through and not sure if I'll finish

Contrived and meandering, I’m 7 episodes in but I’ve got to finish it.

Cranston typecast himself as Walter White — you just can’t unsee it.

Agree with many of the sentiments on the first season but for some reason I've found myself watching Season 2. I'm only two episodes in now but I'm actually enjoying it so far... No doubt it'll get ridiculous eventually but hey, fool me once...

Second series was far better than the first, but still a bit shit.
